Two words, Cease and Desist. Or is that three? We'll have to ask Nintendo what they think...
Unless Kojima plans to make a game like P.T. for PSVR now that he's working with Sony on an upcoming project.
Look what happens to PS4 controllers when you charge them too fast. I can't imagine that 60 second charging would be good for any batteries.
Sony removed the PS1 hardware from the PS2 and ran emulation. Sony ran that emulation in the PS3 as well, and even ran partial emulation in the 80GB models before abandoning the feature without telling customers that they were purchasing a system that lacked all the features of the launch models.
Sony also mocked the 360 for not featuring BC, citing the fact that as long as there was a Playstation there would be BC because they knew how to take care of their fans. Then they l...
You can with an FPGA which XB1 has at least one of in the form of its audio processors, but whether they have more than that is unknown. What they do have is 3.9GB/sec output which is good for 4K/60FPS via HDMI 1.4 with 4:2:0 chroma as previously mentioned.
Okay, for those who disagree:
•The 360 is being emulated, so it is an emulator.
•The 360 software plays with the emulator.
•The XB1 doesn't have a 12x DVD drive, which is necessary to run the games off of the disc.
•360 games didn't always require a disc to run off of a 360 since many could be purchased digitally. They are still 360 games even if they are digital.
No, because what you're suggesting is that a format dictates whether you're actually playing the game or not. I could digitally download 360 games on my 360, and then play it from my HDD without ever having a disc, does that mean I wasn't actually playing them on my 360?
The format is of no consequence to the experience. Do you understand now why people don't get it?
Yeah, but mainly because MS has so much more to show about what the console will be capable of as they continue to innovate. DX12 engines are finally possible, the cloud is on its way, and there's more new IP to talk about(and hopefully a few reboots as well). As they continue to build up their reputation with the changes they're making they'll be much better positioned to compete with Sony in the 9th generation as a result.
Edit at fiveby9, you're probably...
Actually, since the XB1 is a virtual machine to begin with, it is true BC because the 360 itself is being run as a VM right down to the dashboard. Even XBL thinks you're playing on a 360 when you use BC on XB1.
So what other games "aren't playable" then that are on the list? In some cases, the games actually run slightly better on the XB1.
Gimmicks are bad, neonridr, as evidenced by motion controls, and cameras for gaming, and light guns, etc. And you'll see in the long run, VR too. Innovation is good, like touch screens on phones, GPS, and voice recognition software.
Nintendo should have learned from every system Sony and Microsoft ever made, but they didn't. They ran away from the industry, tried to create an entirely new one, and stuck with stupid decisions(going all the way back to cartridges for N...
Final Fantasy 7 was the last good Final Fantasy game, but 8, 9, and 10 were just okay. When Suqare told Sakaguchi to make another Final Fantasy instead of what he wanted to do he left, and so did Final Fantasy.
You know what would be risky? Making something that wasn't Final Fantasy. Milking a cash cow is called playing it safe...
I don't understand why the people who write this stuff don't research before they do. As lvl_headed posted, PS4 is 4K for movies and XB1 is 4K for everything. The real problem is horsepower though. Even though the XB1 supports 3.9GB/sec output for up to 4K/60fps, you're never going to play games like Battlefront at those resolutions. You'll be playing games like Ori at best, if at all.
Win10 and DX12 will close the performance gap to a degree but not signif...
Star Wars episode 7 is great, so of course Battlefront doesn't live up to the hype. Battlefront is lucky if it lives up to the hype of episodes 1-3...
He knows Final Fantasy can't stand up against games like The Witcher, Fallout 4, or Elder Scrolls.
That's why they have Quantum Break, Recore, Sea of Theives, and have announced that they have more new IP coming in 2016. Doesn't sound like reliance on old IP's anymore to me. Anyways, that's like saying that Sony is reliant on old franchises like Uncharted, Killzone, Infamous, and Ratchet & Clank. Good games deserve sequels and like I just said, MS is finally focused on bringing new IP's to the XB1.
They already did that once. It was feared that the PS2 would be easily repurposed into missle guidance hardware.
Legends is a good way to see what fans want in a Fable reboot if you ask me, and it's tons of fun in addition to being free.
I believe it was Forrest Gump who once said, "I'm sorry Jenny, I didn't mean to!"
PS4 will still have better graphics for the most part, but some of its advantage will go away when the DX feature level 12.1 hardware gets used in XB1. Sony will have to implement a much less efficient software based solution to get voxelization, ray traced lighting, and volume tiled resources to name a few. The XB1 supports Conservative Rasterization and Raster Order Views in hardware, which MS designed into the GPU when they built it.
And before you even post, Game, the o...
