Nick Baker, an XB1 engineer, talked with Digital Foundry specifically about how they had to customize their CPU cluster because there hadn't been an 8 core CPU before. If MS had to customize a solution then so did Sony, therefore they are going to have to be different in some ways. Matter of fact, the chipworks shots of both motherboards independently verify that there are extra chips on the XB1's Jaguar cores not present on Sony's.
Lucius, You're saying PSVR doesn't even include a headset? That's shameful. How are you going to experience VR without immersion in sound as well? That's just another $80 to $100 that people will have to spend to get what's included in Oulus Rift. If your excuse is that many people already have a good headset then I can say many people already have a good graphics card too.

One problem with your argument is that Oculus Rift will continue to get better after release as PC becomes more powerful. PSVR is played on a low power GPU, and it's a fixed platform with a reprojected image just to make it work so it's not even natively rendered to begin with.

Last time I checked Japanese developers weren't supporting the XB1 very well, so I find your statement a bit obtuse. Kind of hard to buy a console for it's Japanese games when there aren't many Japanese games in the first place. Maybe that's why MS needs more of them, and maybe that's why PS4 is doing so much better in comparison? How can you really say for certain?
Except that Mike Ybarra said in an interview with TIC that they could do it, and Phil Spencer said that it is something that they are looking into but they need to figure out things like how to integrate achievements into the titles first.
Why the disagrees? IE was better than the Edge browser before the update. I'll be in the middle of typing out a post and the browser just closes at random. I agree with you, Flex, that's why I replied to captainexplosion and not you. There's a reason why Microsoft owns the domain names Microsoft-Sony.com and Sony-Microsoft.com, and it's clear that they could pull enough cash out of their pocket to buy Sony outright if Sony would let them. MS would then own a company who makes their own hardware, which would lower their manufacturing costs. MS could focus more on their Windows ecosystem and DX API, plus their R&D on advancing c...

The fact that Japanese publishers refuse to support the Xbox brand with all of their franchises has a lot to do with it. They could have kept a multiplatform relationship with MS like in the 360 generation but choose(or are paid) not to. It's sad to think that these publishers only supported MS in the 360 generation because MS was out a year ahead of Sony and showed strong sales. It's all about the $$$.
Mafia 3 is looking downright amazing at this point. I will say that there is really no comparison between the two franchises though. Besides, if the additions to Assassin's Creed 2 are anything to go by, Watch Dogs 2 will be fantastic because Watch Dogs was a good base just like the first AC was.

I disagree. Half life released on PS2, and Half Life 2 released on Xbox. Movies can be bought and played on anything, games can only still be bought and played on a PC. Rebooting the series would give Gabe more of what he wants(money), give gamers more what they want(new half life to play, even if it is a retelling of the same story), and gives the series enough time to create a worthy story for HL3 to conclude the series with.

I hate the Edge browser. I use it all the time but it crashes constantly, and doesn't even let you copy/paste to post links. It's great that I can hop onto it and look for help in a game, or jump back to it throughout they day to check the news and stuff, but it's stability sucks big time!

It doesn't make the hardware more powerful because software can't do that. What it does is make the hardware function correctly. WDDM 2.0 drivers, for example, are required in order to allow all the CPU cores to communicate simultaneously with the GPU instead of going through one core. Something PS4 has done since launch with it's Vulkan-esque API. DX12 is required for Feature Level 12.1 to be enabled, which allows for hardware accelerated Conservativ...
