Regor, you clearly don't know much about Irides, which is a cloud enhanced VR solution which also includes predictive software in order to reduce lag. That would mean that the cloud would be acting like the external processor does for PSVR.
Like I said though, I don't know what MS intends to use Irides for, only that the technology isn't being developed for nothing(just nothing we know of yet). Try doing some research next time...
Edit: I just w...
So you know what MS plans are for Oculus Rift and their Irides (cloud powered VR) technology? I don't, but Irides has been in development for a few years now, reduces 100ms lag to 15 ms, and isn't being used for anything that we know of yet. Doesn't that make you wonder what they plan on using Irides for? I can tell you that it's not for Hololens, but not much else.
Crush the enemy, see them driven before you, and have the lamentation of the women... by yourself or with friends!
Or Creationism, lol. There's actually a theme park for that bologna which was talked about in Religulous. They think that the Earth is only a few thousand years old. O_o
Not even a Sarlacc pit could kill Boba Fett, so he always was OP.
Aceitman, there's only one game we know of that is using the cloud for more than AI, and that's Crackdown 3. No other games have been using it yet like that yet, but if you'd like to call destruction equal to the power of 20 XB1's "no leap to boast about" I guess you're entitled to that opinion. Question though, if 20 times the power of the XB1 isn't impressive, why do people laude the PS4 for having .5 times more power?
Wall Street, if you're well aware of the facts then tell me how well Sony's rented network stacks up against 300,000 servers MS owns that are running Azure right now? Also, calling a question related to the article itself "perpetuating that bs fallacy" is not exactly warranted when even these devs, working on the consoles, imply it.
If it sounded the way Michael indended, would Sonic have only worn one white glove in the game?
There is insinuation of this within the interview itself, which is why I mentioned it in their terms. Also, a network that can run games online is not the only thing required for cloud compute. The infrastructure requires enough processing on the cloud side to support the enhancements to the game engine... something Sony is clearly lacking as evidenced by all the partners they have to team up with just to get online games to run smoothly.
Interesting that they would mention that they could not benefit much by adding cloud processing to an existing game designed to run on "multiple platforms", but would consider the tech in the future because it has potential to open up a lot of possibilities.
Edit: XB1 exclusive perhaps? Or maybe waiting for Sony's network to catch up?
The story is a cliffhanger, so it's going to have things that are not fully understood or fleshed out yet.
To put it simply, when you work for EA, they make you their slaves. Don't make a good Burnout game, make Need for Speed instead... SMH.
I played through that game at least a dozen different ways. So many good times... I/O NEEDS to bring it back.
I remember that the Gamecube was codenamed the Dolphin because of the Flipper Chip, which was an IBM chip that performed like a Mac if memory serves me correctly.
You mean Borrowsuck? The game that stole everything from the atmosphere, keycard progression/data pads, and idea of mutated mutated people from Doom 3? Don't forget how they made you play Pokemon Snap just to give you a reason not to be a badass for a while. "Would you kindly" place it near the bottom of the list where it belongs?
Pee Wee Herman, Margaret Thatcher, and Kermit the Frog.
The fact that the Wii U is best selling console so far shows why the XB1 can't gain ground over there.
You forgot to mention that everything on Apples devices is closed in nature. You can't even access the battery or add a memory card to their phones. They are successful in spite of having a horrible business model.
Also, the XB1 wasn't even supposed to be able to play 360 games due to architecture and power limitations. I doubt the same would hold true of PS2 emulation on PS4, so I would expect nothing less than perfect performance from PS2 emulation.
I agree. Remember when it was talked about that DX12/Win 10 was required for true multithreading, where all cores communicate simultaneously with the GPU? Fable Legends is the first game to use DX12 on XB1, and is the only game on the system I am aware of that is using this feature. Up until now, all cores on XB1 had to communicate through a "traffic cop", while PS4 always had an API closer to the metal than Vulkan to do what Fable is.
