It's more of a proof of concept. It really doesn't showcase what cloud computing can actually accomplish. Cloud compute can do more than just physics with a solid network to run things on, which MS has.
Could Irides, the predictive VR software, also have uses that include reducing latency for general cloud computing as well? Interesting thought, since Irides reduced cloud-enhanced VR input lag by roughly 90%, while enhancing the graphics at the same time.
Sorry Rain, but averages work the same no matter how may people there are using the console. Averages are there to remove the differences between two or more things to get a more accurate comparison between them. That's why it doesn't matter that there are less users when measuring an average. 1 in 100 is the same average as 10 in 1000. People using the XB1 buy more games per person than PS4 owners do in spite of the fact that there are more PS4 games to choose from because they pla...
I do love that aspect of Hitman, actually. If I get caught, before I retry I usually do what you did out of spite. The Hitman franchise was always cool because of the choices it gives the player. I was just being a wise-ass as usual!
You're doing it all wrong. The name of the game is Hitman, not Mass Murderer. It's like asking a surgeon to use a chainsaw. To each their own, I guess.
Spin what Butcher, your inability to argue a point which is wrong to begin with? Just doing the math in my head here, using your numbers, but,
•11m of 36m PS4 owners is roughly a 3.3 to 1 attatch rate.
•7m of 19m XB1 owners is roughly a 2.7 to 1 attatch rate.
In terms of attatch rate 2.7:1 > 3.3:1, which means you proved my point. Also, using caps lock to shout about attatch rates having some sort of direct correlation to install base, which has no...
Way to stay on topic, Game. The quality of the hardware is not equal to the overall experience one gets from using a console. That is only one part of the equation, and if there were more educated adults in the world, more people would buy the XB1 because it is a better all around experience IMO. Instead, people would rather spend their time counting pixels and starting petty arguments. The attatch rate on games sales for the Xbox has been noticeably higher for an entire decade and doesn...
So PS4 has double the amount of consoles to sell to, and 41% of sales. XB1 has 27% of sales with half the consoles. That clearly indicates that Xbox owners buy more games, etc., per owner than Playstation owners do.
If there were an equal number of XB1 and PS4 consoles on the market, for every 41 games sold on PS4 XB1 would move 54 units.
Time and time again, we get information that says that people who buy Xbox are the real gamers, who buy more games per console, play more hours online per player, and spend more on DLC.
Apparently, people who buy Playstations are more interested in brand loyalty and casual gaming than anything else. It's been this way ever since the 360 launched.
They should pay homage to the roots of Raidens' character and use Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China.
Wait, you mean to tell me they made a lot of money off of Star Wars E7? Yer talkin' crazy talk!
Horde in some fashion would be great, but I'm curious if the Locust are even left to fight, if the Lambent Mutations may have taken over entirely, or even if there may be a new threat entirely?
I want GeOW 4 news!
I hate to tell you, but the XB1 is nowhere near as weak as Ninty's consoles compared to the competition. In most cases, you have to analyze the XB1 titles side by side with PS4 games to tell the difference. Nintendo's systems were a whole generation behind in terms of hardware and offered no comparison at all.
But yeah, why even mention it in an article about Apps? MS has a strong presence in the multimedia space, a better and more reliable network, the beginning...
Here's an idea! Let's make the vomit-inducing disorientation of Descent compatible with VR so everyone who plays it pukes. The games were fun, but I personally couldn't play them for more than an hour or so without feeling nautious.
It should say, "All PS4's are ready for VR." PS4 owners? MAYBE 10 to 15 percent.
How about using the alphabet to organize the store like the 360 did? When you just want to browse through games and you don't know what youjre looking for, it sucks to see 800 different versions of the same games randomly interspersed throughout the list you're trying to navigate.
It really should be like it was on 360 if anything, because it was way better.
If Sega makes a Dreamcast 2, their end-game will be quite clear. Dreamcast was Sega's hardware end-game, Dreamcast 2 will be their end game from everything video game related. They're falling on their own sword...
The Super Bowl was yesterday...
Playground could be working on FH3, but I'd heard that they were making something else about 6 to 8 months ago. I can't seem to find the article but I'd read about it here. Either way I'm stoked to see what they're up to because FH2 is amazing!
I often forget how different the nature of current gen CPU's are to their previous generation counterparts. I wonder how many devs are still trying to cram outdated code through them, versus how many have begun to optimize for out of order hardware?
It's good for the XB1 as well. If MS is making even more revenue by having their software on a PC, they can continue to fund the XB1 and future iterations of the console as well. It's not hard to imagine that this is the first step towards elimination of the PC. Granted, the transition will take decades to occur but more and more people prefer the convenience of a plug and play device that can do everything without the hassles associated with the PC infrastructure.
