It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

The dev says "confidently" that it does run at 1080p, but that the dynamic system is in place for the "very rare" circumstances that there would be a framerate drop. Did you read the article?

If I remember correctly, Forza 6 Apex does not include the whole XB1 game. If it does not feature the same content it's pretty obvious to me why it's not cross platform compatible.

Yeah, I love the art style too. It reminds me of old school classics like Out of This World with it's clean texturing and simplified architecture. I'd like to see some gameplay.

I understand your point about the financial burdens associated with closing and opening studios, Rain. It is entirely possible, however, that there are 3rd party studios like Remedy that MS would rather buy than continue to spend money on studios that aren't made up of people MS believes can put out the quality necessary to be successful. Sometimes it's better to cut losses and start over.

Maybe GDC or E3 will shed some light on what MS intends, but I agree that ther...

Mr. Pumblechook, I'm not sure how it's unprofessonal for someone who doesn't work for MS to have a negative opinion. It doesn't matter where he used to work because he's not working there any more. I don't think No Man's Sky looks very interesting right now either. Just saying.

I think we should just wait and see what all of these recent changes mean for XB1 before jumping to conclusions.

For all we know, MS could be ditching the studios that aren't profitable in favor of spending the money on new IP that people have been asking for. Hell, some of these studios were Kinect devs, so why keep them around anyways? What we do know is MS already has unannounced IP in development, but does anyone here know how many, or who's developing them? Wi...

It did go back into the network. How many times has XBL been hacked? How many times has PSN been hacked in comparison? Why does Sony have to rent servers when MS has enough for everybody? I donJt think I need to go on, you get the idea already.

I think that was the real problem though is that Legends was only "kinda cool". If the studio wasn't able to create a title that captured peoples' interests, in spite of all the extra development time given to it, something had to be done to damage control the situation. I would argue that the original Fable was the last good game Lionhead produced anyways. Fable 2 and 3 were less RPG, more social, moved away from swords in favor of guns, and had strange multiplayer modes t...

This will still add a lot of depth to the chrarcters too, but I can understand how it may be a bit strange to some people to switch to the antagonist and make decisions for them. Personally, I find the idea fresh and I am anxious to see how the idea pans out. Thanks for elaborating, Rdgneoz3, I hadn't really thought about it that way before.

Many people love Metal Gear Solid 4, which had tons of cut scenes of substantial length breaking up the pace. Was that bad? How about Final Fantasy games?

Sounds like they guy at Kotaku just wants to play Call of Duty. Not every game is about blowing stuff up every single minute you play it...

Hey Nix, "...in terms of quality..." is the part of the sentence right after your partial quote. Not sure how you could have missed it, really. Clearly, expectations references the quality of the title, not whether or not it releases. Is there any particular reason for you to misconstrue the meaning of Phil's statement by omitting crucial parts of the sentence?

Edit: Just saw earlier news about the official closing of Lionhead and cancellation of Fable Legends...

I see what you mean. Hopefully some of the transparency you're asking for comes out at Build or GDC. Not that I'm defending MS in this case, but I have a feeling that since they were so far behind in development of DX12 and Win 10 in general that they just wanted to get it out to market. I remember Phil making a statement alluding to the fact that what they are doing with the Win 10 ecosystem is in it's infancy, which to me suggests regular updates as they get feedback from the c...

Yeah, and her "acting" career. She's a real winner alright.

What kind of question is that? How would the game engine support DX12 for only one part of the game in the first place? The answer should be obvious.

It's anything to do with EA when you think about it. Developers also suffer from the curse and so do consumers. EA is kind of like nuclear fallout.. where everything that comes in contact with it eventually suffers.

It's not too realistic until Rousey makes post game excuses, plays favorites with Dana White, and talks about suicide in order to continue to be the center of attention after she loses.

I'm not sure I follow you here, but I agree about the quality and depth of the article.

Are you suggesting that all of the nuances of the new API are going to be known and understood by developers? I thought it would be more like any other development platform personally. I mean, take PS4 or XB1 as an example: Developers figure stuff out as they produce a game which helps them to make the next game even better. I'd assume that learning a new Kernel and API would a...

Yeah, it could have been a bit less soap-boxy. Phil said they'd be laying out the details soon, which I'm looking forwards to.
