Fully agreed. I don't think RT is the "transformative" experience some people online say it is. Screen space reflections do the almost same thing, and sure they are not perfect, but who has time checking out what is perfect during gameplay. People see animations, textures, 3d model quality, plus they pay attention to the music and sounds while at it, and mostly focus on systems at play rather than shadows, lighting and reflections. Those last three are NOT what makes a scene, th...

Same here! Me and my wife, we thoroughly loved it. What a great game. We grinned and laughed most of the time playing. Made me feel the same I did 35 years ago when I was a kid playing the first super mario games.

And that is why I didn’t buy into the PCI-Gen4 hype even when I have X570 board. Gen3 is not even supported in games yet, so I bought two fast 1TB Gen3 Nvmes at less than $120 total. Maybe Gen4 makes a bit more sense if direct storage comes along and the top games coming out use them just as games feature RT today at launch.

Altho, I still take locked 60fps ultra raster over uneven RT fps and high ower usage, just as I like my nvme drives cheap and nearly as performant as G...

Hahaha... 200K for a couple of days work when you are a relatively unknown voice actor. Riiight!

I dunno, we live in the mountains in a town of 20K people in Nagano, Japan, and we have fiber optic 1GB internet which costs us 20 bucks a month. US is a different geoscape, but it's still possible to have a solid internet connection and a good job if you put your mind into it. So do less commenting on forums and more focusing on getting that Overwatch 2 working wherever you are living!

Me too, but that's because I paid a ridiculous price for it during the shortage. Got some good gaming out of it, though, and it will last quite long, so less hassle with selling the old one and buying a new one etc.

Try working years on something just to have someone steal it from you and possibly profit from it while at it. It’s not the money, it’s the stealing of someone else’s work that Japanese dislike. I completely agree with that. Digital and physical stealing is the very same, just like our money digital today rather than hard cash. I also would not want anyone to steal anything from me that I worked on, say a DIY cupboard or an old tuned car in a garage, which I don’t use today. It’s mine to deci...

Intelligence is a strong word in this context, I would just say skills!

Starting to look very good! Seems like there's still ton of work to be done, and quite frankly, I don't mind if this slips to 2024, but regardless it is a must buy.

Agreed, the more I read about it, the more interesting PSVR2 seems. And I think there will be a lot of upgraded games and remasters with PSVR2 control schemes, alongside with better graphics and more freedom and new creative concepts added in the mix.

This was an awesome game! Played it on PS4 Pro, loved the setting and story. The Japanese in it was challenging at times, but I loved the Tosa-dialect translation quest-line. I wonder how they translate that to English… Overall, a top Ryu Ga Gotoku game!!

How on earth do you know industry secrets nobody else doesn't?
You must have a really good access to Nintendo's R&D labs.

Disagree (but still upvoting due to a well explained comment). I'm in my forties and have chosen a lifestyle that is relatively speaking lucrative, but while working reasonable hours when it's quiet on the biz front, and also spending time with my family playing games. It is a matter of lifestyle, not a matter of how long the game is. Also, the quality of the 50 hours is important.

For me, Elden Ring's 250hrs were all top notch, and I was working on some of the ...

I like the idea from a nostalgic and gamer point of view, but the reality is that those games would bring almost zero profit to Square Enix. The breakeven point for remastering or repackaging something like that and paying for licenses and marketing etc. is just too high financially. It is not just a matter of uploading stuff to PSN and calling it a day.

Because Nintendo sources parts from China and other countries, and the material costs have gone up, and they have to pay them in Japanese yen which is weaker now. They are also using Nvidia SOC so they have to pay in USD for that after they have converted their weak JPY to it first. They get less, yet they sell the finalized product locally in Japan for the same price. There is pressure on the margins of their products in Japan due to investors. Instead of keeping the margins, they decided to...

A must buy on PC. I know a lot of people who will buy this, and really hope it will sell enough to warrant a FFT remake, or even Vagrant Stoiry and FFXII remakes at one point with Matsuno on the helm, finalizing his Ivalice saga.

Yes, and supply chain issues hampered the production (=sales) of all gaming capable hardware, and at the same time game prices went up, on certain platforms, and consumer marginal propensity to spend decreased as everyone is waiting for a recession and preparing for sustained growth of inflation. Additionally, as you correctly pointed out, the spend has been allocated to different venues.

No need for difficulty settings! It's a work of art, no need to think how people experience it, and absolutely no need to think about fans. Make the game for yourselves, a game that you'd want to play, and see how it does. Forget the noise, and focus on creative process. Forget the keyboard warriors, fans and whatever out there. Art is art, and should not be compromised because people somehow suddenly need something.

I disagree. I've played the remake and Automata, liked Automata much more. Flows overall much better.

Elden Ring is really, really good, and often times I feel it is the best game From has made. However, towards the end of the second playthrough, it started to burn me out. Some say it is too long, but I actually think it simply loses its focus a little bit, and does not do enough to offer new and innovative ideas towards the end. It shows new areas and vistas until the Capitol, but after that it becomes a bit flat, like they ran out of development time or ideas or something. Great games often...
