One more big patch and a nice 20% discount and I might dive in!

I'm not sure! But it's okay as I've never really looked at the upvotes and downvotes. I'll just express my opinion honestly while trying to make it well-constructed and back it up with data. This site is much more fun if you don't think about upvotes and downvotes and just read people's comments and react to them by writing something. Maybe to some it's a battle, but to me it's a discussion forum!
@Alexious
I'm actually thinking of getting the PS5 version, but later then again the PC version! I'll see what Digital Foundry says and what the metacritic average is first, though. If it's anything like the FFXIV story, I'm sold.
The PC version of the games ran with Gen 3/4 NVMe drives load pretty much the same as their PS5 counterparts. For example, after a few patches Spider-Man loads faster or slower (within 0.5 second marginal) depending on the drive on PC vs PS5. The Returnal is similar. FFVIIR as well.
The developer is comparing the development to the previous generation of Playstation. If they were to target a Gen 3 NVMe drive as a minimum on PC, they'd reduce development time similarly. ...
Well thank god the didn't put lightning in FFXVI!
I have a feeling that Chained Echoes ends up being better than this, albeit I do love the graphics, animation and music of Sea of Stars. The art is also wonderful. I do wonder though, how interesting is the system and story, particularly the writing. Still, cautiously optimistic, and if this gets a 85+ on Metacritic, I'll still be buying.
I've been trying to understand if the Expansion is something that will expand the original world and create more stuff in it, or if it exists in an entirely new space like in Witcher 3 the final expansion. If it is the former and it expands and fixes the original world, then might as well wait for this and play the game from the beginning.
Again and again I keep saying this, give it 6-12 months on PC and buy it with less than 50% of the price and you'll have a better experience than on the consoles with all the fixes and possible performance/visual increasing mods (which do not affect gameplay nor contents). I've stopped buying PC games on release. I'll take my time, I've got plenty of it!
While I agree, the 4090 has a better relative performance/price ration than the 4080. And as the stack goes further down, the price/performance ratio weakens. This is an unfortunate situation, but the 4090 is a one-of-a-kind card this generation and reminds me of the GTX1080ti when it came out. A bit pricey, but just on another level in terms of performance.
Agreed. I thought the showing was weak. There was nothing new, just some strange mechanics that take you out of the serene world. I never liked the BOTW magnets etc. powers, but I liked the combat, exploring, and puzzles that were classic (not the gimmicky ones). I liked the music and art style, and most of all the atmosphere.
Always felt that in BOTW the strange magical powers were a bit too much, it used to be physical gadgets mostly in the Zelda world. It made me always ...
Everything looks very good and exciting, and I may have to dip in with a PS5 rather than wait for a PC port.
A bit controversial opinion as there's a lot of hype and people are excited, but I still think some of the environments, not all, are a bit bland and repetitive, if you pause and look closely (8:58 and 9:18 and 9:25 and 9:31). All of these places have sort of nice vistas in the background, but the actual gameplay level field looks a bit subpar. Maybe Elden Ring&...
We already have too much of Spider-Man recently with two PC releases and a not too distant PS5 release. I doubt a sequel can offer enough to make it a GOTY nominee, no matter the quality. GOTY games are typically something that are truly groundbreaking, like Elden Ring blew open the Dark Souls formula, or Zelda BOTW which did the same.
I think FF 16 and Starfield are the only real contenders you listed. Resident Evil 4 Remake, Hogwarts and Hifi Rush may win some awards as w...
I bet it was a single-player thinker shooter originally like Prey and MS bought it and said "hey, why don't we make this GaaS!?" and Arkane said "No!" and then MS said "Okay, we need to compromise here, so co-op multiplayer with always online at the very least (or we fire you)" and they said "Okay, fine. (I wish Sony bought us...)". Then, the abomination called Redfall was born. This is coming from a Arkane fan boy, and someone who liked Harvey Smit...
If the single player is not at least up to par with Prey and Deathloop, I'm not interested in this. And I've played every single Arkane game so far, and most of the time really loved them.
Second, I really don't like the vampire theme, I think it's so overused and always the same story. Can't we come up with something completely new? Dishonored, Prey and Deathloop had new concepts, this feels like a GaaS game filled with fan service.

Exactly. The budget covered very high salaries in Finland for the development team, advertisement and distribution costs. After all that, they made twice as much, which will translate to individual bonuses, and rest will go into the new projects. That is a very solid result, and ensures they can continue making solid games with even larger budgets and teams.
I enjoyed Control, it was very Max Payne-esque in terms of gameplay with an interesting setting. Graphics were solid as well. However, I thought it had too monotonous of environments and story pacing was uneven. I do believe it is a great foundation of a larger metroidvania type of a game, which hopefully Control 2 will become.
I wish they make the upgrades meaningful, story better paced and written, and finally have more variety in the gameplay loop and environments. Also,...
Saw this live a couple of times after a client meeting. It was a sight to behold, and a lot of people get stopped by this and try and figure out how the 3D effects work. Very Blade Runner-esque stuff!
Jin, you are quoting random research about a different topic, in a normal conversation you'd be immediately flagged for "whataboutism". Again, I didn't say it was my opinion, I just said there's research about it. It is a fact that there's research about it. It's not my fault someone researched it.
There's a lot of research out there that watching porn is actually quite harmful to relationships. Not saying it is, just pointing out the fact that there's such research in abundance. Similarly, there are case studies about weirdos who take panty shots both in virtual and real life, and how that affects crossing the line when/if they blow up. Again, not judging here or revealing my own opinion, just pointing out there's research in these areas and the data points to one quite cle...
Looks like the developers have no sense on what a female body looks like!
