Lol why not make the game in HD on console.
@zag
Devs/pub dont instantly get a large chunk of cash for the goods that they sell to the retailers. In fact a retailer only pays for games that actually get sold. THIS CASH IS PAID TO THE PUBLISHER IN ABOUT 3 MONTHS FROM TIME OF SALE.
Any game not getting sold is returned back (the Dev/pub) actually has to bear the losses of the returned copies.
In comparison there is no stock for digital games, so there can be no returns. Anything sold on ...
Retailers ditched the PC along while back when they gave most of the space to console games. Services like Steam gave PC gamers an excellent alternative to buy games online.
Had it not been for Steam i think PC gaming would have been in a tought spot.
If the same retailers are now butt hurt about how good Steam and the rest of the DD have its their own dam fault.
Anyways they still have their console market, though that may not last too long ...
Steam is as light as it can be, unless you are running a computer 7-8year old single core PC.
Retail what is retail ? havent been to one in 3-4 years. Steam FTW.
3 years into its life having sold over 7 million copies and now rumored to go free 2 play. Its awesome how Valve supports its games on the PC.
The medic is rumored to get a update like the engineer did, cant wait for.
Well thats the beauty of the PC platform. It has a lot more freedom. With console people are tied down by what the developer or console maker wants to do.
An example being Halo 2 on 360. It was very popular when MS took down XBL for xbox there was nothing Xbox gamers could do to play halo 2 online again.
@below
you still need a PC to make it happen. not like you can do it directly over console only.
"You mentioned the financial benefits of digital, can you give us an example?
Well the easiest way is to look at a sale of a game made today. Let's say one of our titles was sold through a till in a retail store right now for, say, £20. After retail report the sale to our third party publisher - at the end of the quarter following sale - and they then report the sale to us - 60 days after receiving their cut - 1C would receive around £7 for the sale of the game. Tha...
It will borrow left over parts from the PC tech :)
Will be funny if all the games you bought this gen dont work on the PS4 ;-) imagine having to buy HD remakes of everything you own now rofl. Oh wait Sony will certainly be cool with that :)
And no consoles dont sell more.
@Neko
What PC are you reffering to which uses the Cell? I am not aware of anyone i know that uses a PC equipped with a Cell.
I personally work in a company where over 300 computers are used, none of them use a Cell.
I agree its funny kids are complaining about the console version not looking as good as PC version. Well kids its not hard building a PC and can be quite educational.
Why would it hinder your excitement. Its not going to cost an arm and a leg to get a good PC, actually that can run this NEAR maximum settings could be had very cheaply around 600usd (which is the launch price of a next gen console). BF3 still looks amazing on console.
Why are you complaining about 30fps? dont most Sony exclusives which supposedly use the Cell to its potential run at 30fps?
Just because we are getting a game that actually pushes PC hardware a...
We are near the end of the generation, how much more time do they need. Personally i only see Sony devs praising the Cell.
"I Don't Care What The Reviews Say - I'll Still Play Duke Nukem Forever"
And you will signal the devs that its ok to release crappy games we will buy anything.
@Kratos
You pretty much limited your gaming experience by not having a gaming PC.
Well not only is the PC version superior, its also got the most mature crowd. PC gamers tend to work together unlike the kids on console, which actually makes the experience all the better.
Gosh my friends when they play on console they actually have to mute everyone just so they dont hear the kids screaming.
Its obvious BC2 sold very well on PC which is why there is so much support for BF3. More people were playing BC2 on PC then any console.
I also do get a feeling EA is taking PC DD more seriously after watching Steams sales figures. I suppose they are making better use of the PC platform to get people to jump on to their platform Origin.
If they are successful it would be like having their own console for EA, except they wont have to put up with all the hardwa...
It works both ways some of the games wont be present on console either. Currently playing Shogun 2 and Witcher 2 on my PC. Having a blast with it.
Best solution is to get a PC and Sony console. PC for all multiplats and PC games plus Sony console for all Sony exclusives and console exclusives. That way you are pretty much covered.
MS doesnt have too many exclusvies most of their exclusives are present on the PC, Wii games so far run better on PC via dolphin. ...
What platforms do you think support those same casuals that Activision or EA are tryint to cater to?
Hint its not the PC.
I know :P which is why i am a PC gamer lol and i dont play COD btw. TF2 FTW.
