5 years is a long time. Imagine someone having bought games for a PC for 5 years instead of console. if every year he bought 20 games. they would end up paying 1000usd more on console.

That itself is enough money to get a high end rig with some change left over.

20 games a year *10 usd game cheaper on PC = 200usd a year

200usd *5 = 1000usd.

Any real gamer should have a gaming PC fo...

There is fear of sequels getting dumbed down. As it is due to consoles there arent much good RPGs left to begin with. why botch down another series?

"Unfortunately for PC players, developers Lionhead seem to have crushed any hopes."

Haha think most of us will be busy with Witcher 2 anyways. Fable 3 will most likely be a bargain bin pick up.

No ones stoppping you from buying that console when prices are low and it actually has games.

Its a known fact at the start of gen consoles hardly have any games. I personally have over 120 games on Steam alone, I know those will be working for me when the next consoles launch on whatever PC i have at that time. How many games do you think will be working from the PS1,PS2, on the PS4? good chance none of them will work hell even PS3 games might not...

People owe it to themselves, blindly letting a company have them by the balls.

Derp! PCs can attached to a TV fyi. Dont have one your loss.

Why trust any network for your gaming needs. I prefer openplatform. PC FTW, no need to limit yourself to some companies retarded decisions regarding their security.

5382d ago 4 agree4 disagreeView comment

Lol why not just get the Steam version, why limit yourself.

5382d ago 4 agree4 disagreeView comment

Seriously did you even put a thought before saying that. Next gen games are going to have massive texture sizes and will require installations in order to avoid long load times. Cloud storage for large installations would be a joke.

Both the systems work in a different way PSN is a unified system, it is required for the PS3 user to go online and play games. Steam is different even if you are in offline mode you can still launch a game play online(unless its some steamworks game like TF2 or so).

Hence in the situation where the network was to go down:

PSN down: nothing is playable

Steam down: asides the steamworks games everything is playabl...

I think Steam has had a good security jump specially with Steamguard added on. If the Steam account is given its own exclusive Email account and that email account is never used on the computer that you use Steam on, it is literally impossible to hack a Steam account.

Well if you have been shopping from the PSN store at this point the safest thing to do is cancel your credit card, ask for a new card. Your bank may charge you a bit for providing a new card however its better to be safe then sorry.

The cost of chip goes down when it enter mass production. Had Sony produced more Cells it would have brought the costs down. Infact having a 2nd cell would have been cheaper for Sony since they would have avoided paying Nvidia royalties.

1. Generally the cost of a chip is determined by its transistor count, both the Cell and RSX have simular transistor counts.

2. Sony already was mass producing Cell chips, it would have only been...

"The RSX wasn't pushing technology, it was just a mid range graphics card at the time. "

Exactly, yet they chose it over placing a 2nd Cell?
Why?

Because it could obviously handle graphics way better then the Cell ever could. Cell being a powerhouse is a myth, it never was to begin with.

@PS360PCROCKS

"the Cell is beast and the PS3 is pretty powerful."

Sorry but that is pure Sony marketing trying to sell its hardware. If the Cell was so powerful Sony wouldnt have retorted to Nvidia for a real GPU.

Sony intended to make the Cell a GPU which is why its kind of a hybrid much like todays Sandybridge. It does CPU tasks and does GPU tasks. However when it is compared to a real GPU it gets slaughtered. Had Sony not g...

Haha that is funny. Though just a heads up most YLOD fixes dont last long. Would be funny if that console failed just as PSN got back on lol.

It was on sale on Steam for 5usd and hardly anyone picked it up lol.

This is exactly what Valve is doing. The deals on Steam can be unbeatable. Once console gamers see how much extra they are paying for their games they may actually convert to Steam as their main source of gaming.
