They will learn the hardware, PC gamers wont bend over. We will stop buying their games if needed. Console gamers need to follow suit toward companies that are doing stuff like online passes and crap.
Did you not check the PCs in the above links? There is one even on Tomshadware.com for 500usd.
I think you need to start researching.
http://www.tomshardware.com...
The above PC is more then capable of playing most games out in 1080p and only costs 500usd.
@latinal
You can make an entire PC for 600usd. The 600usd PC will be far superior to console. You can even make it for 500usd and it will still be much superior to console it will play all games in 1080p.
Hence the difference between a midrange PC and console is only 200-300usd. This difference can easily be undone in 1 discount season from Steam or D2D. Also even at release every game bought on PC is cheaper.
Also realise that once you make ...
"you have to upgrade you computer for every new game"
/facepalm
Why would you have to upgrade your computer for every game? thats the most retarded thing i have heard all day long, oh wait we hear that alot at N4G.
The 4 year old 8800GTX burries the upgrading myth and pisses all over it as 4 years into its life it still plays any multiplat out there today better then a console can.

Lol dude, no ones trying to convince you to get on board PC gaming. You want to stay on console stay there :)
But please stop spreading misinformation, heres a quick peak at some of the games released this year and they do support controller:
Alice madness returns
Assassins creed Brotherhood
Crysis 2
Dead space 2
Dirt 3
Dungeon Siege 3
Driver
Fear 3
Homefront
Limbo
MLB 2k11
@Ju
Like i mentioned 95% of the games run on the controller. You made it look like every game has issues, please stop generalising as if all games have issues with the controller that simply is not true.
PS3 supports Mouse and keyboard since launch day, why dont devs support all games with Keyboard mouse too? So should we start calling devs "proud" for not supporting kb mouse on PS3? the same games are also released on PC with mouse kb support. So w...
@Ju
The more important question is why were you trying to play an FPS game like BF3 with a controller? You would get owned online atleast.
Its ment for mouse/keyboard. Personally i know BC2 doesnt support controller(not in the BF3 beta so cant talk about it), but you make it look as if its the case with every game out there, which clearly is not the case.
The example you are throwing is for a game thats ment to be played with Mouse / KB then ...
"and choosing it because its easy to program is pretty dumb if you ask me "
Dude you do realise its retarded on Sonys part not to provide hardware thats easy to code for. Tell me what objective were they trying to achieve by not listening to the developers or not providing them good development tools?
Why would you on purpose make it hard to code for devs? its only going to end up limiting the potential of your own hardware.
Then we...
Only getting afew games day one. Pre ordered dues ex. Probably buy BF3 and Batman day one too.
The rest of the games will be bought 1-2months after release on Steam or D2D discounts. So no its not gonna be so expensive at all.
"Of course, and it will take you at least an hour per game to configure that right (if at all)"
Theres 3 billy goats trying to cross your bridge, you really should be getting back to your post.
Seriously dude you'd have to be retarded not to be able to plug in a 360 controller into the PC, cause really thats what it really does take to make a controller work.
DS3 controller takes a bit more work because you need to install motio...
Yet the PC version will look the best. Which eliminates the myth about needing bluray for better graphics.
wrong post
PC version has physx and does 3D dont know if there is a 3D console version.
He probably ment 6950, probably a mistype. There is no model such as 4950. Would be a very bad mismatch for the system if he did get a 4000 series gpu at this point.
Hardware limitations, consoles are 6 years old now.
Lol why the disagrees, its not 2006 anymore. Time passes tech advances.
Consoles were already old designs in 2006. Its obvious in 2011 they can only be considered very old.
It also cost almost the price of an average PC at that time., for 1000usd you could make a high end PC back then, that would include a 8800GTX. A PC of that time with that GPU can still play most games out in 1080p, PS3 barely does that in 5% of its games. 8800GTX is atleast 2x as powerful as the entire PS3.
While PS3 performed like a average computer, its software also cost more. Hence That average computer was a better deal in the long run:
Cheaper software...
@Altair
PC may need an upgrade in about 4years time by which time the console may be dead too. At which point you may need to buy a replacement console. However on PC you have other options.
Imagine someone bought a core 2 PC 4 years back. They could simply overclock the CPU, upgrade to a new GPU (about 150usd which is cheaper then getting a replacement console).
Now the replacement console will perform just like the one you orginally bought ...
Get the GTX 570 its a freaking awesome GPU.
@thebudgetgamer
How are you saving money? console version is more expensive, unless you mean you arent buying the game on any platform.
@jaosobno
Actually a game selling 1 copy on PC needs to be outsold 2.5 times on console to equal the same profit. This is so because most PC sales are now DD.
EA is one of the biggest publishers in the industry there recent earnings report looks like this:
PC: 154M usd
We know console gaming can be expensive, they make you buy the hardware at a loss then rape you with the software.
Its a simple formula the console makers are using, make them buy hardware cheap (which they would only buy once), then rip off on the game prices (which is what they will be buying multiple times). MS even goes as far as charging to go online, rediculous accessory prices, no mods(so the life of games cant be extended, have to go out buy those new maps etc).
