My costs on games have dropped dratically, i dont buy most games at launch anymore.
I personally buy most games on Steam or D2D discounts. Hence my cycle of buying games is 3-4 months late. However i tend to get at a priceof 10-15usd, which can be a lot of saving over the course of the year imo.
Only games that i bought this year at full price were witcher 2, shogun 2 and portal 2. Everything else is purchased when they are on discount.
Those arent emulators mate, That is dedicated hardware to use Mouse kb with console. PC wont need any of that. PC will do it Emulated through software.
So while Console gamers may think before giving out cash for additional hardware, PC gamers will have it for free.
Lol its not hard getting a controlpad emulator, make the game think you are using a Xbox controller, while you really are using mouse kb.
Problem with that is, PC is a very versatile platform. We already have emulators which can be used to emulate a Xbox controller via Mouse keyboard. Hence Xbox 360 gamers will end up facing PC gamers with their mouse keybaord, which imo will be very disbalanced.
It probably will be a cloud based service and probably will be coming to other iterations of windows as well. This is just Microsofts marketing ploy to market windows 8.
I do not think it will be an emulator that can run Xbox 360 games, niether do i think they will port the Xbox games to PC.
Anyways most Xbox games are already on the PC. The ones that arent generally dont matter to the PC gamers.

Lesson number 1: hardware is bought once and is used for 4-5 years. Games are bought every now and then, If the games are costly its going to end up being more costly in the long run.

Lol you dont have to optimise PC games any mid range hardware will play 1080p 60fps. Now you if you do wan to optimise you do have the choice for that.
With console most games run at 720 @30fps. You dont have a choice to optimise, if a game is running at 25fps... well you will just have to live with it.

here is a link to a 500usd PC, it plays all games in 1080p. Mean while PS3 and Xbox barely play 5% of their games in 1080p (even which are not graphics intesive games).

Unfortunately the platform that suffers the most is the PC. If more devs worked like CDproject or what Dice is currently doing things would be good.
