This subject has been beaten to death, after you consider the cost of console games, PC is way cheaper in the long run.
A reasonabally good PC gaming rig wont cost more then 700usd. One to beat consoles can be made in 400-550usd.
So why is it most console devs are making losses? with sales slacking and going down?
Infact Blizzard alone is making more money then Microsoft & Sony combined. Lets not even count Sony since they hardly even make a profit.

Perhaps you missed the latest sales number from Steam. Fallout vegas on PC is rivaling numbers from console counterparts.
PSP having no sale is another issue.
And how much is the difference between 360 and the PS3. I assure you its quite piddly when compared to the massive difference between even the entry level hardware of today and Consoles. In fact PS3 and 360 are trading blows when it comes to multiplats, only when it comes to exclusives does the PS3 gain a small lead even that is largely due to Sony investing so much resources into the exclusives.
Apparently thats not the only thing they got going. Make a wishlist of your favorite games and you have a chance to get them for free.
PC gaming at the moment is the most economic way to game due to such low game prices.

Counter strike is a freaking legend. Dont there is another FPS out there that has such a huge player base even today. PC really is the platform where people support the games.
Metro 2033 is a sleeper hit of the year. Excellent story, game looks amazing even on medium settings. For those of you that can run the game maxed out its even more amazing.
I have personally decided not to buy any more games unless they are on discounts. Just so many games bought already from steam gonna finish them and wait until games get discount.

First Witcher sold over 2 million on PC. Its great for a platform which requires no advertising, packaging, distribution or absurd royalty costs to Microsoft and Sony. This one should be even better, Its months away from release and on the Top sellers of Steam. In fact many people have started buying Witcher 1 again lol.

You are looking at 550-600 usd tops. If you already have parts like casings, Dvd, Power supply laying around then even cheaper.

Dont think Crysis cost them anywhere near that much, they also managed to make a profit on crysis, which is why they are still in business and bringing us crysis 2.
Its another matter they now have greed to enter the console market as well, its all after seeing the COD sales number. Unfortunately for them they wont get the same result with Crysis.

Better to pick it up from steam on a discount. Last discount l4d2 was on discount for a mere 9usd including all the DLCs.
The latest DLC also gives you access to all the L4d1 maps, which means you dont need to buy L4d1 anymore. Add in the Fact PC version comes with many custom mods and runs very well even on 4 year old pcs, i see no reason to pay more for a console version and get inferior quality at that.

In fact its the console with its limited resouces that is becoming a headache for the developers to code on. They need to make so many compromises to ensure the game runs at 30fps even at mediacore resolutions like 720p or worse below.
