Most games are now console ports, I think the next DX(be it 12, 13 or whatever) will only really be used when next gen consoles are out.
At this point Nvidia and AMD are only using DX as a selling point, i would suggest we just ignore them and stop buying new hardware.
They should realise without the software, hardware wont sell either.
Crysis launched in 2007 and used DX9 its still one of the best looking games out there, so yea DX 10 and 11 and just marketing bullcrap.

I hear the next MGS will be on the PC and 360. Only games funded by Sony will remain exclusive. Check out the Xbox 360 it hardly has any exclusives, since Microsoft closed down most of its Studios. The way Sony is going it looks like they are closing down many of their studios too. Devs these days want to developer 1 game then cater to as many platform as possible.

Its not just about the graphics mate. PC version will also be playable 10years from now, what gaurantees do we have PS5 will have the BC to replay this game. Ah wait thats what HD remakes are for, theyll just make you buy the game again and call it bc ;-) awesome
Started of as a console gamer. I had a PC and PS2 last gen.
However this gen i have decided to stick to PC only, games are alot cheaper they look better and i dont feel like my hardware is controlled by some company.

Are you blind or simply not capable of comprehending what you read. I didnt mention Crysis 2 or Homefront as graphical benchmarks its understood they are console ports and are designed around 6yr old hardware just like Killzone 2/3.
Lol you cant compare a corridor shooter like Killzone 3 to games like Crysis 1 or Arma 2. While Metro 2033 is pretty much a corridor shooter too, that game just looks insanely good on PC.

Sonys exclusives are rediculously over rated and over praised on this site. I think its mostly due to the fact PS3 always gets shafted when it comes to multiplats. Then the fans have no option but to retreat to exclusives.

The PS3 tech is atleast 6 years old. To get hardware that will out perform the PS3 multipletimes will only cost 450-500usd.
If you already own a PC with a dual core CPU then it will only cost 80-100usd to get a GPU that will outperform PS3 by atleast 2x.
Some of us refuse to:
pay to go online
pay royaltiy per game
have no control over our hardware
No gaurantees of BC next gen
Overall console gaming is expensive vs PC, people only get deluded with the 300usd initial price tag. Which is irrelevant because you need the games to play.

I think you been reading too much into Microsofts marketing.
Sure they advertised Windows 7 has DX 11 as an advantage. However Windows vista supports DX 11 as well, it came as a patch in service pack 2 i think.

Laptops arent really ment for gaming unless you blow like 1700-2000usd. Even then it wont perform as well as a mid range PC which would cost 600usd.
