"This is the problem with the big Nintendo games, if someone states their honest opinion they get blasted for it."
Were you on the site when Tom McShea posted his review of The Last of Us with that scary 8.0/10 score? That was where the "get the guy fired" comments reached an all-time high, not Skyward Sword (a game many long-time Zelda fans aren't too big on).
The point is that this isn't limited to Nint...
Your claim works both ways too, but say that you don't like The Last of Us and people will chew you out and call you a fanboy.
If you don't like Donkey Kong Country, fine. There's nothing wrong with not having an active interest in a genre that doesn't appeal to you, but the people you're talking about are not limited to Nintendo's fanbase, so stop treating it like they are.
It's a situation of justifying your purchase decision. No one wants to hear about something amazing that they can't have, so they vilify it to make themselves feel better about their console of choice.

There's nothing wrong with breaking tradition in favor of innovation if it's done right. Gone Home was certainly unique, but it had a high price, short length, and its innovations weren't deserving of that high a level of acclaim.
In my eyes, it was an okay game, but nowhere near a GOTY contender as Jaffe and other personalities have claimed it to be.
Heaven forbid that people make their own decisions and ideals from video footage and actual gameplay, instead of handing their trust to some random person in an office who just happens to have some position of power at a corporate entity...
"they'd need at least 30 characters that are popular enough for people to want them."
Where have you been for the last 30 years?
Has there ever been a highly anticipated game release that involves a heavy amount of online-related features that HASN'T had some form of server/networking/infrastructu re problem at launch?
Has there?
I believe it was Ben Croshaw who said "it is only extroverts who think anyone gives a crap about their stupid opinions."
The loud fanboys are the ones who prove to have enough conviction to their likes and dislikes that they'll yell and vocally assault people online in the name of their console of choice In contrast, the quieter, more introverted gamers are usually the ones who have less conviction to a certain side, giving them the ability to actually understan...
"Cage is known for his highly cinematic, character and story driven games."
Making games more photorealistic-looking and stripping away interactive elements is not helping the game industry at all. You cannot further the game industry by making games like movies and that's exactly what Cage has been doing.
It's because he's not using the game medium's distinctions from film as a strength. You cannot make video games into art if you ...
This is a bad article because it implies that a single game can destroy two consoles. X will be great and I predict a lot of people will love it, but enthusiasm is no excuse for being this ridiculous.
Sony: more games for this system. Please. More games. Not ports. Not collections. More games. Please. Please. More games for the Vita.
Gonna play Tearaway now.
That's pretty sad, actually, considering how frequently he's wrong. Anyone with half a brain can make a prediction and flower it up with business jargon explaining "what it means."
If someone is paying a person without any real attention to how accurate their predictions are, that means that he can be wrong as much as he wants and he still makes his pay. That's like a janitor tracking mud around a business lobby and still getting the same pay as he would...

"six games to play free of charge"
What about the memory cards? They're expensive, very limited in size and are proprietary format. PS+ is a great deal and I use it a lot myself, but Sony compensates for the free games on Vita by making the memory cards for Vita absurdly small in storage space and absurdly priced. There are great games on Vita for download. The problem is that you can't play them unless you buy an expensive memory ca...
I'd be pretty surprised if the rumored new Devil May Cry is another DmC. I kinda figured that would be some one-shot detour and then they'd revisit old-school Dante and his PS2-era pals.
I didn't really have a problem with DmC, but I never interpreted it as the future of the series.
@Hicken
You're clearly trying to make a case for the Vita, but you seem to forget the fact that the handheld is $200 and the PS4 is $400, no games included. That's $600 for all that and Sony keeps turning down a PS4/Vita bundle.
Also, the Vita's remote play latency is much larger than the Wii U's off-TV play, especially if you try it out over Wi-fi, which is a nightmare.
And Sony is not using remote play integrally. It's s...
I believe TotalBiscuit has had to deal with this kind of crap before. Didn't that Day One: Garry's Incident game have a similar problem with its PR?
It was really Apple's iPod line that stimulated the interest in making products in the color white. Before that, the color of choice for tech products (and even other products like cars) was black or a glossy steel.
Kind of different, but I like the collector's editions of physical media. A figurine or traditionally drawn promotional poster kind of adds a sort of artsy element to physical media. It feels like you're getting more than just a game.
I'm sorry, but I stopped reading after that blatantly fanboyish-sounding third paragraph.
It's one thing to embrace natural subjectivity and provide an opinionated, but still constructive argument toward supporting a product. It's another to ramble on about how much you love one console while completely hating on everything else and treating any other system as some inferior peon on the market.
Because Nintendo fans are the only ones who speak irrationally when a game they like doesn't get the highest accolade...
Quite fooling yourself, man. The other fanboys are just as bad, if not worse than what's going on with Tropical Freeze right now.
If you don't like the game, fine. Don't buy it. But a lot of people, myself included, are excited for Tropical Freeze and the way you're treating anyone with a Wii U as some second-class citiz...
