Youtube has a lot of awesome game-related content beyond just basic Let's Plays, but Youtube's obnoxious content ID matching issue is inconveniencing and even endangering the best of these channels.
Angry Joe, The Completionist, ProJared, and so many others have been harassed so much by Youtube's recent policies. If Youtube doesn't shape up, I don't expect this survey's results to stay as they are further down the line.
Haven't people been asking for a new Retro-developed Metroid since Other M?
Well, even if I don't quite agree with the article, it does present an alternative view, one that's definitely interesting to hear.
Different people fear different things, and I still stand by my comment that it feels a bit too subjective of this breed of "horror" for me to understand that viewpoint completely.
Nevertheless, it was an interesting read and I'm glad this article was submitted.
I dunno. It definitely focuses on some potent subject matter, but calling this game horror seems like a big stretch. From what I could gather from the article, it's less about the game's content itself and more about what the writer was considering as a potential alternative interpretation of that content.
Under those conditions, anything can be horror if you want it to be, and I find that hard to believe.
So what's the solution? What do you want to happen?
@Darrius Cole
I've read a lot of bad comments on this site, but you've set a new standard. There is nothing intelligent, financially or otherwise, in your comment. Nothing at all.
1. Bayonetta is a clearly Japanese-stylized game and the 360 tanked in Japan. If it was a Microsoft exclusive, it would not sell. At all. That means no Bayonetta 2 anyway. At least Nintendo has some presence in Japan.
2. I don't see the connection betwee...
You laugh, but someone at Capcom is probably planning that as we speak.
I liked the atmosphere of Bioshock more, but the gameplay of Infinite more.
"Until recently though I've felt like things got off track somewhere in the PS3/Xbox 360 generation. Maybe that was because of the explosion of gaming related content on the internet, fanboy extremes..."
This is still a persistent problem. It's just as bad now as it was during the launch period between the 360 and PS3. The criticism of the annual release leniency and the downright broken 10-point scale are things I can agree with, though.

Tek Jansen and The Flaming C. I'd play a game about those guys.
If by some odd reason this happens, I'd expect a downloadable release. Fighting games are getting a lot of those lately.
"Most publishers don't, but that's not even the topic of this discussion..."
Then why did you bring it up? I'm just responding to your comment. Publishers aren't the ones who determine the technical fidelity of a gaming system. The people who are making games for the system do. The developers do. I'd trust Retro's opinion on the Wii U's tech specs more than some suits from EA any day.
Retro's been working with Ninten...
"reliable anonymous sources"
That phrase is a really bad way to give your story credibility, especially when there's no link to any source in the article itself.
OT: We'll need to see if the VR idea takes off. There's no point in buying a license like this if the market is untested for VR controls.
"Just imagine what Retro could have done on the PS3 or could do on the PS4 or Xbox One."
You were doing so well until you made this terribly shallow argument that's still a fallacy-packed failed claim. Retro Studios did wonders for Nintendo; Metroid Prime is proof of that and that literally couldn't have existed on another system, since Metroid belongs to Nintendo.
"Someone's lying and I don't think it's the publishers of the gaming world."
I really hope you don't think that the publishers are the ones making the games, because you are dead wrong.
"The games being crappy are just a matter of your opinion."
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that getting a varied selection of games remedies that problem very quickly. Instant Game Collection has a very large variety of games to choose from each month, so there's much less of a chance that you'll be out of luck and stuck with games you think are "crappy" each month.
Games for Gold rarely offers enough selection to...
Talk about an underrated version of the Batman universe. Batman Beyond was pretty damn cool.
I personally think Nintendo should hand Star Fox to Platinum Games, but I'm not denying Retro Studios' skill. They're a versatile company who can work with multiple series and multiple genres.
If Retro Studios got Star Fox, though, it would still be really awesome. Retro's proved themselves already.
As much as I'd like to play Civilization Revolution, I still think that Microsoft needs to amp up their offerings for Games With Gold, either with something newer or with more options each month. A single game from years ago isn't gonna get many people excited.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to take that argument seriously right after he uses the word "austere."
