Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations proved that 3D Sonic games can be good, so I don't see why making Sonic exclusively in 2D is "fixing" things.
Other than that, everything else in this article has been stated before. In fact, it was stated during the Sonic 06/Unleashed era. I think Sonic's doing pretty well now, better than he's been in a long time at least.
As decent as a $299 price point would be, this is an enormous speculation scream. Grain of salt taken...
...and Nintendoland should be released as a pack-in. I don't think it would make a big impact with the target crowd without being one.
I really like how Sony is offering solid incentives to give PS Plus a go. Kudos, Sony.
I'm not going anywhere near that link.
And predictions for what Namco character will appear in the next Smash Bros. game begin...NOW!
I have no idea why Nintendo would even be thinking about this already. The 3DS isn't doing badly at all, so why discourage gamers with another system down the line? And what about that 3DS/Wii U connectivity?
Financially exploiting something already overused and annoying? Yeah, great idea, guys.
Hmm...the friend code comment still has me skeptical, but it can't be worse than the Wii's online system. The 3DS single-friend-code idea was a step in the right direction.
And as for the "ducked nothing" note on the article, I think Reggie is still hiding some key info about the console. Oh well. That's his job, I suppose.
Nintendo sure is taunting us with this mysterious Wii U price point. Hopefully the console won't be higher than $400. If it's more expensive than that, I'll probably have to wait a while to get one.
Considering that Ubisoft is pouring so much into the Wii U development library, this doesn't sound too unbelievable. Splinter Cell does sound like a cool fit for the Wii U, if the reading rings true.
10 hours is okay if the pacing flows well. I have high hopes for this one.
Though it's not a perfect soundtrack, it's great to hear some new stuff like El-P/Trent Reznor alongside older stuff like Powerman 5000's "When Worlds Collide." Nice indeed.
I've been meaning to try this product out and get started on some game videos. Seems like a solid investment.
The first-party lineup really isn't what he should be worrying about. First-party Nintendo games are usually pretty damn good. People will likely buy the system to play them.
You do realize that "Plumber in Time" is the best subtitle you could give any game ever, right?
Make it happen, Nintendo.
I agree. While more Rayman is awesome and somewhat surprising news (considering the supposed sales numbers), Ubisoft needs to shed some light on Beyond Good and Evil 2, especially since its development is supposedly tied with Rayman Origins' success.
As for this sequel, I hope there are more bosses. I thought Rayman Origins needed more of those. Either way, exciting news.
As excited as I am about a new Mario game on new hardware, I really wish Nintendo would work on some new IP's. Shigeru Miyamoto remains one of the visionaries of gaming, so surely he has some new ideas too?
Regardless, new Mario is quite exciting.
I can see where he's coming from with the whole "responsibility" pressure thing, but I think he wouldn't have much to worry about. Miyamoto has created some of the most iconic games ever. The only thing I think that would make him nervous is if he tried a brand new IP with crowdfunding, something that isn't guaranteed to have immediate support.
Still, if he did crowdfunding, I'd be on board.
I'd normally say it's a slow news day to try and justify this being on N4G, but it's not, so I'll just say "WTF."
It would help Nintendo if Black Ops 2 was a launch title, especially if they offer multiple control options, or better yet, bundle in one of those Pro controllers with the game.
