3DS has been dead, man. There have been barely any games for it this year, and Nintendo didn't announce a single one at E3. They already dropped it lol.

Smaller screen, not worse. 12 percent smaller. Performance should actually be better, due to power efficiency. Most certainly a chip revision. The base Switch model is incredibly under-clocked in handheld mode. Talking about 50 percent, and even docked mode is still underclocked to what that same chip runs in the Shield line. With less heating and power/battery concerns, the chip can easily be brought up to docked speeds or higher, allowing for much greater handheld performance. Better than t...

I think it was a bluetooth problem that caused that. Shouldn't be a problem with new internals and buttons connected directly to board. Wearing out joysticks on a handheld though is always a concern. I've had to do it a couple times on Vita, and other controllers. Thankfully it's not usually all that difficult.

Money lol. They're making tons of it, and have some of the strongest IP in the world. Why wouldn't they? For example, Smash Ultimate is already one of the biggest selling exclusive titles of all time. If you haven't got the notice, the Switch has also been selling very, very well, despite how people feel on this site.

They're not going to buy it lol. Many people are going to buy the Lite version though, no doubt about that. You'll see dudes in Japan with every single color.

Games man. The Vita was a really cool piece of hardware, but would I recommend one to the average gamer? No way. There are millions of people, though, that are going to want to play Pokemon, Mario Kart, Mario, Animal Crossing, Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon(imposter!), etc. The price just needs to be a little lower to capture those impulse buyers, and those on the fence. 3DS was failing hard until its first major price drop. After everyone bought it, the games came rolling in.

Higher clock speeds, no doubt. The Switch is severely underclocked while in handheld mode normally, due to battery life and comfort/heating concerns. I am pretty certain that the handheld clock speeds will be closer to the docked speeds in the original model, perhaps even higher. Modders (myself included) have been using OC for months now with it, and Nintendo has already experimented with it for loading times, etc. With a more power efficient chip, those heating concerns are gone. So you get...

There were advantages of having cartridges though. Banjo and OoT would have never worked on PS1. It was expensive and didn't end up working out for them, but it allowed for some classic, timeless games to be created.

Lateral thinking with withered technology. Was Yokoi's motto.

Not going to be 1080, if anything they'll reduce it a small amount from 720 to keep it pixel perfect and improve performance.

$179.99 would have been the sweet spot I think.

Vita best for native psp and ps1 gaming. Even SNES emulation gets pretty bad on it though. 3DS is great for NES/SNES/GBA injects, and native DS. The Switch is an amazing emulation machine as well.

We'll see teardown eventually. I bet this chip is clocked a bit higher than the original model. 16nm instead of twenty, less power consumption, better heat efficiency so they can do away with how they had it under clocked before. And with the smaller screen, it might have a slightly lower resolution as well, so we'll see significant improvement in handheld mode visuals. I think another $20 price drop and it'll sell like the Switch did at launch.

They wouldn't have made it if market analysis didn't determine that it was a product that people wanted and asked for. Even here, I've seen countless posts of people that wanted a cheaper model. It's going to sell well, much to your chagrin lol.

It's still pretty crappy though. It's like "We're shitty programmers, and we know it, so we'll just give the community the foundation they need to make the game they deserve for themselves."

Coward? Luigi presses on and saves his brother even though he's obviously terrified for his life. That's the exact opposite of cowardice.

Almost anything you've ever enjoyed as far as entertainment has had higher-ups with their hands in it. Some of the best ideas that people have ever had, that they poured their hearts into, someone told them it wasn't marketable and crushed it. Money money.

True, but I'm going to get a PS5 on launch day, and still own and buy games for my Switch as long as it's being supported with great software. If it continues to sell as well as its doing, especially with a big price drop, companies will want to make games for the system. There are advantages in doing so. Lower budget, certain markets. We could continue to see exclusives like Astral Chain for years going forward if Nintendo is smart about it. I know we're going to get fantastic ga...

More likely they'll make it so that manufacturing is cheaper, and drop the price, while offering a mini variant. If it ends up selling 80 million, and people are actively buying and playing games, devs will continue to create and publish games on the platform, regardless of power. If anything, some companies will prefer having lower budget games if they will sell well. We could end up seeing far more exclusive Switch games being made of the install base continues to climb steadily, and if...

And Sephiroth didn't even kill Aerith, Jenova did lol. It was her the entire time. You never meet Sephiroth in actuality until the Northern Crater. He was in suspension for years.
