Probably be end of system life on that one unfortunately :/
I think I'll get Xbox at launch, for social and bc purposes, then PS5 later on, once there's a great and cheap first party lineup.
Being an advisor to a company is much different than being a president of a billion company, far less work I'd imagine.
I've been enjoying the game for a few days now; It's really charming. Great art style, kinda humorous, lots of stuff to find. Battle system is interesting, to say the least. Definitely engaging, and turn based, but not an in depth RPG if that's what someone is hungering for. It's no Thousand Year Door still, but hey, that was one of the best Mario games ever made.
All these AAA games are going to run 30fps next gen, because they will all prioritize graphical effects over framerate, as graphics sell their games on the mass market. Exceptions will probably be first party. Performance doesn't make money. It's going to be like this until AI is making all our games for us in the future.
This game is really cool, fun, challenging. Interesting story too; If you like indies, I definitely recommend giving it a shot.
The Switch is an incredibly strong brand. If Nintendo wants to keep making the money they are now, I can't picture them NOT releasing a NS2, unless the tech just isn't where they need it to be at the time, or other supply/market/logistical difficulties. I also can't see Nintendo supporting two consoles again. They merged development departments for a reason. Also, keeping with similar mobile architecture would allow for backwards compatibility, which is a huge plus.
Man, and here I was thinking that Trails in the Sky and Chrono Trigger were still perfect games...damn.
Wii U's hardware limitations; The game was developed on that console for years. BotW2 will most certainly be more dense, better performing and have better graphics. Hardware limitations aside, however, BotW still has some of the finest art direction ever displayed in a game. I guess that's the great thing about gaming though, is that there's something for everyone to love (and hate). I found myself so lost in that world, and can't wait to return. Rarely do games offer so much ...
Lots of reasons. Budgetary being one, not spending too much time on optimization, requiring less time for animations, etc. Graphics sell more than anything, so if a studio has their game being able to run at 60, someone is gonna say "add more visuals and target 30 instead." We'll be seeing 30fps until the end of traditional consoles.
Full speed and accurate emulation will always beat the original console. Problem is, most consoles don't get hacked inside out.
Continue with Switch for three more years probably, maybe longer, until the tech is there for a Switch 2. Makes sense to continue the business model, mobile tech, affordable hybrid with acceptable performance and good games. Also allows for backwards compatibility, which seems to be will be a standard for all going forward.
How was she soft? She tortured and murdered people, got impaled, dealing with ptsd, got her fingers bitten off, stabbed the shit out of Abby and tried to drown her, then decided she couldn't deal with anymore death for that day. Is that not a decision the character is allowed to make? Maybe she thought Abby finally had enough after seeing her tortured and strung up, and knew she'd be killing the kid as well by finishing her off.
As long as the software continues to sell, I think third parties will be happy to develop the right content for the console. Switch has been selling great for its entire life so far, and hasn't seen any significant price drop at all, other than the Switch Lite. If the Switch ever dropped $50 or $100? Forget about it. Those are all new customers who will most likely buy games. By the time a Switch 2 releases, it will probably be one of the highest selling consoles of all time.
I feel like Prime 4 is going to be one of the games to close out the Switch's lifespan. That game needs to deliver in a big way, to keep that particular series going. I'd really love to see Nintendo develop a new 2D Metroid in-house as well.
The plot in 4 was intentionally B action-movie cheesy, and it worked. The game was still a horror game at heart, and was executed fantastically to create dread and tense moments through audio, level design, etc. RE5 though, was completely created and marketed with Western markets in mind, as an action/shooter game, which continued even further with 6. They were fun games, but lost any spark that made them scary at that point, I feel.
Remember the first time in 4 when you headshot so...
Despite his fate, I always wondered if they'd make Luis' story a playable mode, like Ada's. I'm wary of a RE4 remake though; That game is still damn-near perfect. Also, the cheesiness of the dialougue and story, it's almost hard to find it working well with the realism and art-style of the RE2/3 remakes. Both games were great though, despite the length of RE3 (fantastic, but probably should have been priced at $40), so I'll remain cautiously optimistic!
I urge anyone interested in this article to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Netflix quality documentary on a breakdown of the storyline themes, and why it's the saddest Zelda game. Very, very good watch.
That's the whole point though; In real life, shit unravels. People you love die without you ever getting a chance to say your peace to them, and people grow apart as they age. Most people don't get their happy ending.
For some reason Nintendo gets SMT, and Sony gets Persona. Kinda weird, considering one is a spin-off, albeit more popular lol. All great games regardless.
