An upgraded version at that.
New Horizons might end up being one of the highest selling games in Japan of all time though, so it's hard to really compare anything to it.
My thoughts: I thought it was great, high production value and engaging, but definitely too short. If you're a completionist, you could get your money's worth from it, but $60 is too high. Wait for a price drop and play. I have a problem and always get RE games day one though xD
This game is amazing. I could not tell you how many times I've beaten FF7 over the years, and the whole game feels like a celebration and love letter to the original. They're doing a great deal to place emphasis on ambiguous or poorly explained/translated plot points from the original. Which are many. The Western release of US was so poorly translated that the game hardly makes sense compared to the Japanese script. I understand why it's incomplete; In this style, it's just no...
It will not be complete in a year when it comes to Xbox lol. The full story, when complete, will easily be one of the largest games ever made.
If it's the first fight, punisher mode, block and wait for him to attack so you get the parry and lots of stagger. Magic at range.
I thought it was great, it was just short as hell. The problem lays in the source material. RE2 was just a better game than 3 in alot of ways.
4 is far more action based with open areas. Enemies drop ammo, and Leon tanks hordes of enemies at once. It's great, and it works in the context of the game, but that was never a thing with older RE titles. Aiming is difficult on purpose in the remakes, and ammo limited to make smaller amounts of enemies more challenging. You shouldn't really even shoot at all unless you have to.
Remake them all in the newer style. Beat 3 today, and although it was very short, I loved it. Honestly a bit overpriced for $60, but worth $40 all day. Anyways, would love to see RE1, 0 and CV all done in the new engine.
Not even close to half of the main game lol. Covers up to the end of Midgar section. In the first disc of FF7 alone, after that, you still have to progress through Kalm, the Chocobo Farm, the Mythril Mine, Junon, the Cargo Ship, Costa Del Sol, Mount Corel, the Gold Saucer, Corel Prison, Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, Nibelheim, Rocket Town, Gold Saucer again, Temple of the Ancients, Bone Village and the Forgotten Capital. That's the end of the first disc (of 3) from the original. This is going to...
Of course he had influence on the game, he designed all the characters in FF7 and has been working with Square since like, 1990.
That's the problem with IGN, they have like 50 different reviewers at any given time.
So much better than X and 2. Fantastic game.
Clickbaity, but Xenoblade Chronicles is a really, REALLY fantastic game. One of my all time favorites. I hope many of you guys get a chance to play it.
I love RE4 because the gameplay and atmosphere in that game are perfect. Combat is strategic, and almost never plays out the same way through replays.
Looking back, I could argue that sprite graphics in general have held up much, MUCH better than early 3D titles. FF7 was held together with duct tape lol. The game has a great story, yes, but even then the Western translation of FF7 was terrible, and completely fudged entire plot points. Anyways, it's subjective. Do you like the steampunk fantasy or the dystopian future RPG more?
7 was just the most obvious game. It had a ridiculously high marketing budget, was something new at the time, and became the highest selling and most well known in the series. In terms of gameplay, graphics, music quality, overall production quality and translation, FF9 had 7 beat in every way. Story and characters are subjective, but it's hard to deny that there weren't better designed games in the series.
FF9 remake please! XD
That's the one!
Responding to that other guy, go play Hollow Knight lol. That game is spectacular.
Honestly, the canon and Timeline for the game have been screwed for over a decade. Advent Children was convoluted as hell. Both Dirge of Cerberus games, Before Crisis, Crisis Core... The FF7 universe has been a cluster fuck for a long time lol.
