No. OK...PCs will never have mainstream living room appeal for gaming. This is regardless of form factor or input/control interface. Steam machines as they currently stand take away everything that makes a media PC appealing. It is basically a running a stripped down OS that only plays games. If you want it to do more than that then expect to pay out the butt for a dual booting rig that adds Windows.

So when you do begin to poop the dollars expect to pay anywhere from $500 t...

At least they've acknowledged that the WiiU may not be salvageable. Also, there sure is a lot of talk about what is coming after. I hope this epiphany is part of a larger strategy that brings satisfaction and value to current WiiU owners otherwise they stand to lose a large portion of their consumer base that expect more.

Damn! I will definitely get this game once I get the X1. Chief Thunder, Spinal and Tj Combo are my favorite characters

Speculation and what if will become what? when? if a sizable sales gap develops. For all of the denial, MSFT would have to price correct to stay competitive with Sony if they start to pull away. How will they do this?..drop the Kinect. It may not happen early this year or this year at all but MSFT cannot afford to lose mkt share over the long run. If I were a betting man I would bet on a Kinect-less sku Christmas time or by the middle of next year to accompany a Halo or Gears game. The n...

This will not happen any time soon. A Kinect-less sku has a greater possibility of existence. MSFT needs brick and mortar retail and a move such as this would be a shotgun blast to Gamestop's face. Such a move would ensure Sony's dominance because Gamespot would have to drop support for the X1 out of self preservation. Even if MSFT introduced this as an optional sku alongside the current version I see retail partners that depend on software sales retaliating in some form.

No. I speak of three consecutive years of net losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars. I speak of the company's inability to hit sales targets for both pieces of hardware for multiple fiscal periods. I speak of their current apathetic business culture and practices that have led to a devaluation of the stock and lower returns.

Neither "Wii" nor "3DS" are appropriate answers to the problem of a failing WiiU and Nintendo business. Nintendo fans...

The sad truth is that the WiiU HAS to compete with the PS360 and PSX1. It is inescapable. What the WiiU has failed to do is innovate beyond these platforms. Poor social features, media playback and technical capabilities render it less than attractive to consumers who want more than games from their entertainment consoles.

No sh!t Sherlock. Iwata should have made mention of this in the last forecast instead of deceiving investors. The thing is everyone else saw how farcical that 9 million unit forecast was yet Iwata asserted it was possible. An assertion most likely comprised of wishful thinking and hope. An assertion that most likely ignored probability and trend analysis. An assertion that would attempt to disguise ineptitudes and poor future performance.

But wait...now he is going to ...

...not impressed. This guy is still well compensated so where is the punishment. I argue that continuous poor results should result in a call for resignation. Why continue to let him waste money and diminish investor returns? If immediate resignation is an unlikely option, timelines should be set for improvement specifically in the WiiU business and profit/loss performance. Why is Nintendo's board so unwilling to place more pressure on Iwata? Why do they continuously allow apology ...

No need to jump to conclusions. Digital Foundry will have a " tale of the tape" shortly. Also, from the footage I've seen I can't see any glaring differences that renders any version noticeably inferior or unplayable. Furthermore I have played this game on PS3 and to tell the truth I can't see that great of a difference between the gens. Let's not fight over minutia. It is a good game on whatever you play it on.

I haven't played 2k14 much at all. Mapping so many moves to the right analog stick is not as intuitive to me. Hearing this inspires me even less to want to play more. It is a beautiful game but I am repulsed with this money gouging, free to play/micro transaction model in a $60 retail game.

What a bunch of junk! The WiiU is doomed because the company that manufactures it is inept, ineffective and irrelevant. Consensus is everything and the consensus has moved beyond the 100th Mario iteration. No one cares for that tired old formula. Also, there is no innovation in adding analog sticks and buttons to a tablet. There is no innovation in the Wind Waker REMAKE. If there are any innovations they are hidden far behind NIntendo's inability to make a "current gen" co...

Pachter is clear minded in his recommendations. For all of the Pachter detractors take a step back and ask yourselves why doesn't Nintendo have a plan of action to fix their issues with the WiiU. Why isn't Iwata fired? They have been content to sit, wait and make excuses all while new, more powerful and better supported hardware is released. I wish accountability was in their mission statement and I wish all of those true fans out there would demand more.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice...fu!k you. Why give them the time of day? I always say one should reserve judgement for after release but this publisher has a track record that allows us to make assumptions and draw conclusions. The developer, regardless of prior work or pedigree, will be placed under the same constraints and the project will most likely be mismanaged similarly by Sega. If this was a Alien game from a different publisher maybe but Sega just can't seem to ge...

Big telecom and cable in the US are some of the biggest perpetrators of anti consumerism. All of the early government supported funding and concessions initiated to incentivize R&D to improve our broadband infrastructure have been misappropriated. They used all of those resources to plunder and monopolize markets all to our detriment and their benefit. The cats are getting fatter and this new ruling only allows them to develop new revenue streams that stifle competition and adversely a...

Overtones, allusion and innuendo are all suggestive states of communication that are not damning in of themselves. Interpretation depends on assumption and personal, prior exposure to specific experiences or situations. I have not seen the sequence and I don't think its removal would affect my overall reception of the game. I would be disappointed, though, if one dissenting interpretation causes the creators to alter their vision. Unnecessary, undue censorship benefits no one because ...
