Yeah I know but without RAD will it be a true successor? You can tell from the first game that they were truly passionate about this IP. Can another studio do it justice? Maybe, but I really wanted RAD to have another go at it.
Crap!! Really wanted another Order game. I was hoping Sony would've acquired these guys. Well that is that.
Leave it to epic to show us what next gen WILL look like. I am finally, fully saturated with excitement. This little demo has captured more of my attention than anything else so far. Screw the FLOPS and the SSDs. Give me games that look like this
I like it. I can't wait to get my hands on the inevitable red and black variant.
That indeed may be the case but don't forget that Sony has some potentially costly custom tech under the hood as well. With that being said the disparity in price may be as little as $50 or as great as $100 in favor of the PS5. We don't have any official numbers as of yet. I only posit that with what is known and the close nature of specs so far the determinant factor over the long run will be software. Price does indeed play the biggest role but if the gap isn't so wide, Xbox...
Exciting times. I understand much of what was said but as a layman much still eludes me. The PS5's architecture is a bit more exotic than what MSFT is looking to implement with the SX but they both appear to be competent, true generational iterations of the respective platforms. MSFT's approach is a bit more straight forward and does hold a spec advantage in certain aspects whereas Sony is looking to do more with less through more innovative means. Whether it is a sustained 12 Tf...
Sony and Insomniac have such great synergy. I believe Ted Price finally acknowledged that after Spider Man's meteoric success on the PS4. 80% - 90% of their catalog sits exclusively on Sony's platform anyway so this acquisition was nothing more than a formality.
Actually... oxygen, food, water, sleep and shelter
"Instead of developing a Bloodborne sequel, it would be worth REMAKING FromSoftware original Demon's Souls"
ALSO
"Rather, FromSoftware fans should look forward to NEW CONTENT from the developer, in the style of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, to experience what else the talented developer is capable of.
I am confused. Apparently, the writer believes that Bloodborne is undeserving of a sequel and favors NEW CONTENT like a... Demon... Souls......
Short answer...no. Long answer...nooooooooo (period, exclamation)
...nah. I enjoy playing what I want, when I want into perpetuity. Shoot, it took a lot for me to transition from physical to 100% digital "ownership" so you can understand why it would be a bit much for me to cede the only power I have left. Allowing an entity to curate my entire experience is unpalatable in every aspect. As a supplementary option, sure. There is tremendous value in these subscription services but I lament their inevitable ubiquity. Streaming, subscription se...
I try not to remember. It hurts too much to remember how much power we have ceded to these corporations. Our community, divided and weak, lacks the resolve to illicit any beneficial change. As long as we are preordering and buying loot boxes and map packs, things will never change.
Their situation is more complex than the simple margin conversation we are having here. I do not know their exact debt/equity ratio but I do know that they are over leveraged. I am not suggesting that their problems are all solved if they lower their margins on newly released games they sell as used. From my armchair I see this specific strategy as part of a larger strategy to increase sales online and at their brick and mortar locations. The larger corporate strategy should be to refine ...
I was speaking specifically of newly released used sales. For example Rage 2 costs $60 new. Trade in value is $20 in store credit or $16 cash. Rage 2 used costs $55… only $5 less than new.
REVENUE – COGS = MARGIN >>> $55 - ($20 or $16) = $35 or $39 respectively
MARGIN / REVENUE = MARGIN % >>> ($35 or $39) / $55 = 64% and 71% respectively… there is room to lower margins and offer greater value to consumers. There is no need to race to the bottom here. ...
I think their approach at the counter/in store has caused their relationship with the gaming community to deteriorate. I prefer the EB approach back in the 90s...experts who never tried to force preorders, used games and subscriptions down your throat (at least not the ones I frequented in northern NJ). EB employees were always available for casual or informative conversation. The aggressive obnoxious behavior at GS might work on granny or mom but I think it has soured many a gamers to the...
Some novel ideas but GS's insolvency is inevitable. The question is how can they slow their descent? On top of their current financial woes they must contend with the imminence of a disc-less future. I don't think that adding "super niche" retro only stores to an already ailing/faltering niche business model will solve anything. These efforts will only compound failure and hasten their demise.
They want to appeal to gamers? Lower the margins on newl...
Hope not. I hope the market can tolerate and support these products robustly enough in their respective launch periods. I want to see both MSFT and Sony thrive early on so each can focus entirely on making compelling, innovative software. We do not want either to fumble and bog the generation down with corrective measures.
From old man to old man...exactly. This game wasn't made with scaling difficulty in mind. Those design considerations would have had too been made from the outset. Lowering the difficulty would most likely break the game and expose some not so laudable design choices that are otherwise overshadowed by this "difficulty." There is no need for elite, fast twitch skill here...just patience, good observation and decision making skills.
Bingo! This is the best take on this topic so far. Everything can't be for everyone. SJWs don't seem to understand that by pushing an agenda of inclusivity they are, in essence, unwittingly advocating homogenization...not diversity. If every game had to consider every demographic then every game would be the same. No one wants that. Wholly difficult, uncompromising games should exist alongside walking and dating simulators. I applaud FS for their refusal to concede anything in the fac...
Well... didn't see this one coming...
