Damn that's a good deal!
I mean come on. Every single thing literally offends every single person. Golly!!! It is as if I went to sleep for 20 years to only wake up to this new hyper politically correct, hyperbolic, nonsensical, entitled, hyper sensitive culture. Can't the writer see that men are as equally objectified in this game as women? Everyone is neckid!!! Everyone! Would she rather everyone wear business suits or gender neutral clothing? If this country continues down this path of desiring to oppr...
Not a good idea to conflate sexual abuse with gun violence. These are both very complex social and domestic issues that do not have a strong correlation. One does not imply the other and as far as I can tell there were no instances of rape in any of the school shootings here in the US. I agree that the concept behind this game is pretty insensitive, shortsighted, destructive and provocative but I defend it's existence. I am a strong proponent of freedom of lawful expression and with t...
What we don't want is over correction and over censorship. If a comment does not transgress the already established codes of conduct then it should stand. Discourse is sometimes messy. We should welcome all voices. Ignore the trolls. Report the transgressors. Acknowledge and encourage those who put forth an effort to be insightful (whether we agree or not). Use your words to prove your point and elevate your opinions above the "cesspool". Whether the comments are sexist ...
Cost/completion time≠Value. Cost per hour is a very simple metric that takes cost and divides it by an average or fixed amount of time necessary to experience something to it's predetermined completion. There is absolutely nothing subjective about it. Value and worth are subjective and are not intrinsic (maybe implied) components of the equation. The cost/amount of time equation does not account for value just like the miles/gallon, cost/gallon or the kilowatt/hour equations cannot. ...
Well written. Well said. The Destiny 2 demo kept me off the lawn...slow ability cool downs and an oversimplified perk selection tree. To me, this follow up was shaping up to be a shadow of what was initially a promising game. A shadow of a promise. I am glad I didn't bite.
Readers Gambit: "God of War is a poorly optimised game and there are no two ways about it. On a standard console it will struggle to hit a stable 30FPS and the Pro does not fair much better as it chugs along hoping to hit a stable 60FPS."
Digital Foundry: "Lastly, there is the base PlayStation 4, which is capped at 30fps and here, the level of performance is remarkably like the PS4 Pro with the higher resolution option engaged. Frame-rates generally hold stea...
"Everyone knows by now that the game is more than great.. " Not everyone. It is OK if people disagree with the consensus. Everyone doesn't have to like what everyone else likes. Again, if this is an honest review or If there is an agenda then so be it. It doesn't make a difference. What should matter the most are our individual experiences. For me the 7.5 is not the issue but some of the critique seems purposely erroneous or exaggerated.
This review comes across a bit disingenuous. I am not one to fault a negative or middling review if the critique is clear and honest. If this is an honest unbiased review free of agenda then so be it. Sadly the way I read it suggests otherwise.
A 7.5, in actuality, is not a bad score. We need to take critique from both ends of the spectrum with a healthy dose of skepticism. We also need to curtail this over reactive, knee jerk behavior to contrarian views. If the ga...
I visited DSOG's comment section and the only thing I found remarkable was the level of toxicity and acrimony. I don't care which platform has more...whatevers but is it too much to conduct yourself with a little civility. I haven't been to that site in a while but I never thought it could get worse.
This is a tough one. I've been playing games for a really long time and I must say that the last generation was the golden age of gaming for me. It spawned most of my favorite games of all time. Mass Effect series, Gears of war series, Bioshock series, God of War 3, The Last of Us, GTA 5, Red Dead, Uncharted 1 thru 3, Halo 3 thru 4, Resistance series... and on. But alas a decision must be made. The PS3 is my choice because it had a more memorable and varied selection of exclusives. ...
... or maybe the people who exhibit less empathy are simply PEOPLE WHO EXHIBIT LESS EMPATHY in all aspects of life. I am going to initiate a study to test if eating chicken sandwiches make you less empathetic/sympathetic to chickens.
We'll have to wait and see.
Jb227 made the best point so far. We don't have any official confirmation as to what this thing is or even if it is an actual thing. My comment is based solely on a prevalent rumor. With that being said, I cannot argue any further on the topic without making a bunch of assumptions.
As for the PS3 slim et al they were nothing more than changes to the chassis, HDD size, WIFI capability... Nothing more. There weren't any fundamental changes made to the CPU or GPU. ...
You are correct. This is all conjecture and rumor until there is actual, official confirmation. I am never the alarmist and I usually wait for the facts. This article in particular caught me because we have a dev acknowledging and admonishing what may be an inevitability. There is just too much smoke around this issue.
Well written piece. It echoes my sentiments perfectly. There isn't a need for a 1/2 iteration. If Sony wanted to take this trajectory it should have been announced before the release of the PS4. PS4k would introduce a lot of confusion in the market regardless of what is being upgraded in the box. Consoles have followed the convention of a static spec. Consumers expect this (rightfully or not) when they buy these closed boxes. Again, if they wanted to do things differently this time...
Lol. Awesome!
No. Just different.
This is a win win for gamers and MSOFT overall. Nothing has been taken away. Allegiances have not been shifted. The ability to argue over which assemblage of plastic and components is best has not been lost. X1 now has the opportunity to be part of a larger ecosystem and may gain access to more cross compatible PC exclusives. So in this case the river can flow in both directions. This form of synergy could offer more value than the cross compatibility found within Sony's family of p...
Please don't eff this up Showtime. I have watched every live action and animated movie to date wishing and hoping for a full length studio produced adaptation. I was so disheartened when the Peter Jackson collaboration never came to fruition but there is some hope here. I hope they treat this with the same respect and seriousness HBO displays with Game of Thrones. Can't wait!!
