@monkey: Yes it does, the volume of software sales that Nintendo misses out on because it lacks decent western software support is precisely why Wii U sold so poorly, it's no wonder why Sony and Microsoft sell more hardware and games by a massive margin now.
It doesn't what negative stereotype you want to add to a massive audience for a video game franchise, they're still a huge audience that are spending their money bringing revenue and thus adding to your prof...
It needs more than just the Nintendo games, should be set up to entice loads of third party developers to have dozens of major AAA games coming to the system in the not too distant future, which would be enough to reduce game droughts between 1st party releases, yet Nintendo hasn't laid the ground work to make that happen, evident by the droughts already visible in Switch's launch year.
The launch day line-up is sparse, same goes for the other 8-9 months that make u...
Kimishima says they're spacing games out to reduce droughts, yet there will still be big droughts of months with no games hitting the system this year and with the lack major western 3rd party support, small 1st party output and pretty small support from eastern 3rd party devs the big, quality releases in 2017 are few and far between.
2018 and beyond are an unknown quantity right now, I count on one hand the major releases hitting the system this year, Switch isn't ...
The list of awesome games that have already released this gen is huge, I think if you're making this kind of a baseless statement then gaming may not be for you anymore.
You only have to google "(insert year) games" to see the list, it's massive and guess what? There's nothing stopping you from playing a mixture of new and old games from this gen and previous ones.
Scorpio is meant to have an SOC with an 8 Core CPU, paired with a 6tflop AMD gpu you're probably looking at max power consumption of 150watts for the whole processor (SOC with CPU and GPU on the same die).
Vega architecture may very well be the basis for the GPU, which could mean Microsoft could get away with only using about 100 watts for that part of the SOC leaving 50 watts max consumption to power the CPU, a Ryzen CPU, with 8 cores, clocked at 3.4Ghz uses 93watts, s...
There's nothing thin about the story, the game has a great premise, many characters the will build into Aloy's journey, just because Guerrilla Games wants to keep spoilers to a minimum that certainly shouldn't mae anyone think there's nothing deep about the game.
Hell just by looking at what's been shown it's clear you're worrying about nothing, this game smacks the community in the face with how solid it's story is going to be, the fact Guer...
Nah it's actually about right, considering Naughty Dog basically started from scratch on Uncharted 4 after Amy Hennig left (that was around Feb/March 2014, the final game went gold 25/26 months later), they discarded a good 8 months of work, so by E3 this year Neil and co could have a great deal of TLOU:P2 done, certainly enough to be able to show some vertical slice of gameplay in a similar fashion to how they first debuted Uncharted 4 gameplay at PSX 2014.
The main te...
Naughty Dog will release TLOUP2 when they're ready, IMO marketing stages will follow a similar trend to Uncharted 4, we've had the in-engine visual teaser at PSX 2016, then at E3 2017 we'll see the first stage demo, with gameplay, then at PSX 2017 we'll get the release date and major set-piece demo, I reckon Fall 2018 will be ND's release target and Spring 2019 will be their final delayed to point if they feel they need the extra few months for polish and optimization. <...
Sony have already made their preemptive counters to Nintendo and Microsoft's tactics (if you can call them that), they have numerous real AAA exclusives including a wide variety of new and old IPs which have been in long term development and could easily launch in 2017.
They're the only console platform holder that doesn't have any issues with either their internal game development talent or external partners that either makes exclusive games for them or produces multipla...
The successor to GTAV has probably been in development for just over 3 years by now, definitely for current gen consoles and PC because there's an install base of nearly 80 million consoles and probably more PCs that can handle that level of games.
It's stupid to think Rockstar won't capitalize on the current sales possible on current games hardware.
I'd expect a remaster of the game for next gen, similar to GTAV, but Rockstar will wait until they...
Learn how to read, actually read the first line of text in my last post, the visuals in the game are indistinguishable from a Ghibli Anime film.
Btw former Studio Ghibli talent are involved in making this game.
The gameplay in the trailer looked about as close to a Studio Ghibli Anime as you can get, it's beautiful!
Amazing if this game can run at 60fps, it looks pretty demanding visually.
Games that run at 1080p on XBox One will run at 4K on Scorpio, if they're running at 900p on XB1 then chances are they'll run below 4K on Scorpio.
It all depends on the math and whether the base XB1 version of a game has a native resolution that will scale up by 4.58X and the final pixel count stays at 8,294,400 or higher, for example 900p is 1600X900, which doesn't multiply up to 4K using the extra 4.58X added GPU power compared to the base XB1.
It als...
This worked out amazingly for the first, I don't see why it wouldn't work for part 2.
I'd say they're rushing it out, but the hardware in Switch is pretty old stuff, considering Nvidia's Maxwell tech and what's in their SOC is essentially a Tegra X1 from 2015, the screen, battery and controller tech are not modern, very cheap tbh, it's just Nintendo are trying to make out like the Joycon tech makes somehow advanced (it's not).
Games don't really appear ready though, considering how few there will be over the 9 months Switch will h...
Switch and it's accessories certainly aren't worth what Nintendo and retailers are charging for them and until the Fall of this year there's very few games that even justify getting a completely new gaming platform IMO.
Personally Nintendo haven't shown me that the merging of handheld and home console games development has really been taken seriously by their first party or external partners, if it had then there would surely be more than double if not triple the volu...
Accept there's nothing to expose, people have played this demo on real base PS4 consoles and the game looks the same as the left bit of footage in video.
The right footage is clearly heavily compressed and poorly encoded to try and make the game look that bad.
Hell the new trailer is from the latest build of the game and it's an improvement over the left footage, the right is definitely not an accurate representation of the game.
I'm sure if so...
Personally I'd love for Nintendo to make a fully fleshed out version of Zelda in the style of the 2011 tech demo they made for Wii U, I think it's technically feasible on Switch's hardware with the new feature set of the hardware compared to the older tech of Wii U.
Even if it's more of a linear affair, using the wide, but a directed style like Uncharted, or perhaps a Bloodborne/Souls map structure.
Tbh though Nintendo has the engine and a...
I can't believe Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Splatoon 2 aren't on the list, sure it's possible XC2 could be delayed into 2018 or beyond, but as it stands right now it's slated for 2017.
Splatoon 2 looks like a hell of a lot of fun too.
Hell Arms is also a Switch exclusive that is getting quite a lot of praise from people who've played it.
I know it's a matter of preference, but I'd put those games on the list in place of Minecraft...
Along with the games you mentioned Sony Japan are meant to have a big new IP in the works, From Software supposedly also have another PS4 exclusive in development, Bruce Straley has his own team working on an unannounced game at Naughty Dog, that is likely a new IP.
Sony Bend are working on Days Gone too, ND also has Uncharted Lost Legacy and The Last of Us: Part 2, there's still GT Sport, God of War, Knack 2, Dreams and Ni No Kuni 2, I think that's the list besides...
