I don't think so, not going by what's been said about it.
Shinobi602 said it was an open world action RPG, with a post apocalyptic setting.
I don't think there's been any mention of it being an FPS or any space travel to worlds other than the earth.
There were comments about melee combat, with guns, but that was a feature the studio couldn't get right.
It's possible Turn 10 or 343 could have a team each working on a new IP, I know Rare supposedly has something else besides Sea of Thieves in the works, though it would make sense for them to get SoT out first.
Playground Games have confirmed they've got a new IP in development, but it's early and they're currently looking to expand a team to work on it.
Most likely Crackdown 3, Forza Motorsport 7, State of Decay 2, some key 3rd Party marketing deals...
Nerdleaks should have been able to find out the game's name, it's pretty well known among people connected to the project it was called Darkside.
For those wondering why it was cancelled, it was because Sony had invested $100m into the project and it kept missing milestones, was supposed to be ready to show by early 2014, for a Fall 2014 release, but that didn't happen.
Your post makes it seem like it's not OK to call Nintendo on their mistakes, the reality is that they're marketing Switch as a home console, it's releasing in 2017 and it's not even capable of providing a canvas half that of it's closest competitor when it's docked in front of your TV and running at full speed, it's very expensive for a home console with the level of tech it has, the screen and portability are irrelevant to people wanting a decent home console for ...
As things stand I see the system selling it's launch stock, in the first week, but after that sales will drop like a rock, because this device is lacking in games support and Nintendo aren't showing the goods.
Retail games are few and far between, no COD at launch when Infinite Warfare and the MW4 remake should both be there day one, along with a few other major 3rd party releases from earlier this console generation.
The price is too high for mass market, ...
It remains to be seen whether the hype will extend beyond the launch audience, who normally tend to be the hardcore fans of the company in question or concept(s) that make up a particular product.
This being a Nintendo device doesn't guarantee massive hardware sales, the company's been on a downward trajectory since the NES, with only the Wii bucking that trend.
Sure sales were good for SNES and OK for N64, but that doesn't support the Nintendo brand being a mass...
Actually a 256 Cuda Core Maxwell GPU at 307.2Ghz hits 157GFlops in NVidia's world of compute performance, when compared to Wii U's AMD GPU architecture it's about 236GFlops, Wii U only ran at 176GFlops, so Switch is about 34% faster than Wii U when running in portable mode, comparing the specs we have.
You can't compare different GPU architectures and just straight up say an Nvidia Flop is the same as an AMD one, difference in architecture effect end perform...
@sd11: I'm aware of this, which is why I stated in my second to last sentence that my comments were based on the leaks and that none of this was fully verified (I'll adjust my future posts to factor in official specs for Switch or more accurate information about it).
Btw the specs in the article say the GPU has 256 Cuda Cores, 1TFlop would require the GPU to be clocked at 2Ghz to manage that level of Nvidia Flops at FP32, the specs are referring to FP16, there's...
Please don't write your posts as a wall of text, it's much nicer when posts are separated into sentences and paragraphs.
Just a friendly request.
Based on current tech leaks and clock speeds Switch has about 45% of the gpu performance of XB1 when docked, around 20% when in portable mode, CPU is probably about 40% of XB1 when portable or Docked so it could run games that hit 1080p on XB1 at 720p, when docked, with a few visual tweaks.
900p XB1 games that run with high settings would probably need to be medium on Switch, with 720p being the docked resolution.
3rd Parties may have to lock out a portable mode, unless they...
Decoding is likely just for video output.
There's nothing stopping Nintendo making a newer dock with a more powerful SOC and added faster RAM or maybe some kind snap-on added tech (along with an extra battery) that houses extra processing technology and improved memory, but it would add to the overall cost of the whole package.
There's also the fact that not everyone would have the extra tech, so developers wouldn't necessarily target the upgrades.
Not really, if Switch has a 256 Cuda core Maxwell GPU, even if it was clocked at 1GHz docked that means it only hits 512GFlops. Now you can't compare NVidia Flops directly in a 1 to 1 ratio, but even if Nvidia's Gpu tech was 1.5X more efficient than AMD's that would only put Switch at 768GFlops when docked.
Apparently Switch was meant have only 768Mhz for it's GPU clock speed, which would put the system at having the equivalent of 590gflops for it's gpu when in do...
No you would need a professional die scan of the SOC to observe what components make up Switch's main processor, with standard zoomed in pictures you'll be seeing nothing of note.
Tbh though you can make pretty accurate performance estimates by knowing what the level of power consumption is in each mode, NVidia's current technical capabilities on the node in use and form factor of the target device.
Switch certainly isn't a teraflop level device usi...
I'd be fine paying £199 for the system (given it's a portable device, with it's own screen) and now that Zelda has dropped to £48 I think that's a much more reasonable price for proper AAA games on game release day.
I guess I could live with £229 if a 128GB micro-SD card was incljded and Nintendo included 1-2 Switch or Arms or some other games to show off the system's features like Nintendoland.
It wouldn't hurt Nintendo to al...
This would be a guess (not a rumor I've read), but with the excellent reception of R&C 2016, in review scores, customer satisfaction and sale, Insomniac likely have another PS4 R&C in development.
The 2016 R&C and Spider Man were both developed at the same time, the Ratchet team probably moved on to R&C 2 for PS4 just after shipping the 2016 game in March last year, we could see it at E3 or PSX if the team weren't needed for Spider Man.
So conscientious, efficient consumers who are aware of the poor value for money that Switch represents are broke whiners?
You are aware that the people with the most money are the ones that spend sparingly right? It's a major reason why they have the most money to begin with.
Here in the uk Amazon are out of stock of PSVR, they don't even have an estimated date for when they'll be back in stock, if you want one you have to buy them from an independent seller for around £100 above RRP.
Game are the biggest video game store in the UK and they're also out of stock, we're in Feb now, people can't tell me this thing isn't selling.
If Nintendo had made Wii U with the pro controller, instead of the gamepad then they could have made a system with XB1 level specs a full year before that came out for $299, with a 500GB HDD, and they wouldn't have been left out so much by 3rd party.
Zelda could have looked better than that 2011 tech demo, while running at 1080p 60fps and the system wouldn't have been replaced so soon, it probably would have been $199 by now, which probably would have changed the ma...
NIS have actually put quite a few games on Nintendo platforms before, their first game was on SNES, 10 games between June 2008 to July 2009 were released on Nintendo hardware, NIS have just favored Sony for their own reasons, Disgaea 5 is just a single Japanese title, hardly proof major 3rd Party support being on it's way to Switch.
Where's Call of Duty, Mass Effect, or BF, etc? Games don't take long to port, if publishers wanted it developers would have had amp...
I doubt it, this is SSM, one of Sony's big Studios, for $100m to get spent you're looking at years of work, for that to not come together there was probably a great concept, with interesting ideas that couldn't be made to work as a final game.
