You don't know me, so don't presume to know my buying habits, some games take a long time to complete and can be laugh to play local multiplayer with.
Having a portable system that also has those major titles can certainly affect your buying habits.

If a game was cheaper on Switch then people could certainly be swayed into buying it on Switch over PS4 and XB1.

You're utterly wrong about Switch's price, the tech insid doesn't j...

Media Molecule stopped being an Indie developer once Sony bought them and started fully funding their games, along with expanding the studio beyond more than a handful of people, they have around 60 people working there now.

Tearaway may not be your kind of game from an art style perspective, but it's tonnes of fun.

Great month, even though I already own Tearaway Unfolded (I'd highly recommend it to those that like adventure games and quirky platformers), but I don't own the rest, looking forward to trying Disc Jam and EDF.

PS4 has a huge quantity of quality games, on that system it's generally agreed that you get both volume and well made games.

Once again your comment makes no sense.

Lacking the games that the majority want on the system just means Switch will have less mass market appeal, thus it can't become the primary system for that audience of gamers.

I'm not even sure what your comment is trying to say, are you trying to say that lacking GTA, Red Dead Redemption 2, Mass Effect Andromeda, etc is a good thing? Because most gamers would disagree with that line of thinking.

Absolutely not when Nintendo consoles aren't going to get the major games from Rockstar or numerous other big western 3rd Party developers, it's unlikely the major releases will hit the system.
For many myself included PS4 is already that system, because people know those games are there, along with Sony providing awesome exclusive games support.

Switch could very well be people's go to secondary dedicated gaming device because of Nintendo's exclusi...

As I said in another thread related to this I think XGP is a good idea for gamers, you're probably not going to be able to buy those games for the cost of the subscription and provided there are enough games a month to keep you busy it's worth the money.

It depends entirely on whether there are games people want to play, cost of the service and just the overall value to the end user.
Microsoft also has to make money on it.

Just as with XBLGWG and PS+IGC you'll never be able to buy all of those games for the cost of a yearly subscription, with the Xbox Game Pass you're getting even more games, if you're going to play a couple of the games available on the service a month then you're getting your mone...

No Switch doesn't have a stronger launch day lineup compared to either PS4 or Xbox One.

On Switch sure you have Zelda, but it's not exclusive to the system, if you own a Wii U then you can play it there.
The only other noteworthy games are Fast RMX, Bomberman R and Snipperclips, there are no major exclusive games that will have a major store presence to get shoppers excited when browsing their local retailer's shop floor.

PS4 had Knac...

You're the one who's wrong here, a hypervisor is a feature of all modern operating systems, Cerny even talked about PS4's hypervisor to the media when explaining the system's technical features.

Btw no Sony haven't said PS5 won't be able to run PS4's games, emulation of the PS4's code will be simple for them moving forward, because of the more straightforward code base of their games.
Something like a future AMD APU could brute force...

Despite the misgivings I have with certain things about Switch it's still a new gaming device releasing on the market, which is always a great time for a gamer.

Q1 is also awesome for software releasing.

The "best games" is a subjective label anyone can add to anything to suit their preference, I'm talking about the technical aspects of what's possible with a device that can calculate greater math, that's the point.

Games like Horizon weren't possible last gen because of the scale of the world, while including the physics, weather, time of day, AI and so on.
Uncharted 4 has dynamic physics that isn't at play in The Last of Us.

@TheCommentator: FYI Cerny stated clearly at the Pro reveal that it's GPU architecture was a combination of Polaris, Vega and beyond.
AMD don't call their Multi-GPU tech SLI, it's Cross or X-Fire and no PS4 Pro doesn't use it, it's a single GPU on a single DIE with a CPU and other components needed to make up a full system on chip, the GPU in Pro is one component of a whole piece, while it's layout may be like 2X20 CUs, with 2 disabled on each side of the chip...

It's a matter of complexity and volume of things possible all at once on hardware with increased technical performance (both improved efficiency and added system resources).

On PS4/XB1 you can have increased scale of game worlds, with dynamic physics, weather and better performance compared to what was possible on the last generation.
Physics complexity and overall scope of world scale, with all of that are undoubtedly not possible to the same degree on last ge...

Flops don't really show what level of performance improvement newer devices have over the last generation, in the same way that increased CPU core counts and higher clock speeds for different processors don't tell people a thing.

You could have a 4 Core modern CPU, with a 1.5TFlop Vega GPU that absolutely curbstomps PS4 because of it's more modern processing architecture.

PS5 is a part of Sony's hardware roadmap, which is designed based around game developer's needs and customers requirements for a future gaming device to play those games on.
Sony will make the best device they possibly can to meet developer's needs, within the most appealing price point customers are realistically willing to pay.

If developers ask for a new generation of hardware and enough customers are ready to buy into that new ecosystem then Sony wi...

All modern computers use Hypervisors, PS4 uses a Hypervisor too, your comment makes no sense.
Pro isn't half assed, it was intended to be a mid generation upgraded PS4, it does what it was intended to and at a very cost effective price, which was the point.

BTW from the information in the Scorpio white paper it uses the same CPU as the launch XB1, requires interpolation of frames to achieve 60FPS for base XB1 that run at 30FPS and it also uses the same checkerb...

Wrong. Sony getting their product to market a good 11 months prior to Microsoft shows that Microsoft are once again in reactionary mode, FYI PS4 was also announced before XB1 and Sony increased their RAM amount because developers asked them too (a well documented fact).

Scorpio is Microsoft's attempt to put the XB1 behind the company, because they feel power is needed to move forward, but the reality is that it mattered more at the beginning of the generation, now peopl...

There's no contest between PS4's games lineup and what XB1 has to offer, the PS4 has way more exclusive games announced and already released, plus there appears to be way more potential from Studios that are known to have been working on unannounced games in Sony's camp.

You can't even make the statement of quality over quantity in favor of XB1 because PS4 has that going for it too, it's games are both quality and they outnumber what's on XB1.

Sony also have Pixel Opus (Entwined) and Manchester Studio (responsible for working on VR projects), they're both 1st party studios.
