There could certainly be a bunch of potential projects that could be ready for reveal or a tease from the Sony camp and within their ecosystem of partners.
Sucker Punch Productions seem like they should be ready to show their game, Japan have been cooking something big for a while and they could have more than one major property to reveal soon, London still houses a lot of devs, but they're yet to produce a major AAA PS4 game this gen or even last gen, they could have m...
The last XB1 AAA exclusive was Halo 5, which released at the end of October 2015, PS4 has had 6 in the last 12 months, counting games only available on PS4/Pro, if you want to include games that can be bought on PC or some other PlayStation system then that number probably triples.
PS4's been getting a consistent lineup of real AAA exclusives since launch that didn't release on some other device outside of the PS4 platform.
Facts don't support your igno...
ImpSpace have recently (on the 21st of March this year) put up a new screen shot for Dreams, Media Molecule went quiet because they started off developing their creation tools and they were enticing people with the ability to make anything they could want in a digital environment.
MM are now focused on the game that they'll use to showcase what their Engine and Tools can do.
With how fast they were able to develop content in their Social Media Streams, with jus...
I'm pretty sure this and the next Wolfenstein were already noticed in Bethesda's marketing as a tease last year.
Even staying with AMD X86 technologies for the next PlayStation Home Console using a new Generation of SoC with new CPU and GPU architecture, along with a new Memory standard would still be enough to encompass a new generation of console, the vendors involved are irrelevant.
So long as the new hardware allows for games to do more, provide developers with a big enough increase in their canvas, with a bigger array of sketching and painting tools then we're getting a new g...
For those wondering this is another one of those articles that requires you to load individual pages for each of it's bullet points.
Basically Looper's claims are the standard fair of streaming tech or that PS4 Pro style iterations will replace generations, they even attempt to negate a named PS5 generation shift as even being a generation because it would be in name only, because of the likelihood that Sony will stay using AMD and X86 technologies.
AMD sti...
@10th Rider: What about the 3rd party releases?
Looking at Switch's 1st few months there's hardly anything, we don't even have a Call of Duty game confirmed for 2017 and Activision has released 4 new entries in the franchise since PS4 and XB1 launched, Switch should have at least 1 by now to help push sales post launch.
The potential for users to play local Multiplayer and Co-Op outdoors in the summer would make for a great incentive for peopl...
Manufacturing that number of devices (16 million Switches) and getting them to retailers are separate things, Nintendo likely expects to have 14 million systems in retail channels by April 1st, because it takes weeks to move stock from Foxconn in China to the rest of the world.
The other 2 million systems will go out over the next few weeks to a month.
These are currently Nintendo's theoretical expectations, based on current sales demand, but looking at the cur...
It took me all of a few seconds to google about Splatoon 2's single player campaign, apparently it's going to be set 2 years after the 1st game's SP story, seems likely that Nintendo are holding back any information about that part of the game until they're ready to show more.
This section of the sequel, along with newer MP maps will likely reveal more of a sequel feel to this game.
Nintendo didn't take long to develop the 1st game, seems they...
Any device capable of running entertainment apps that are commonly found on every device that can access the Internet should be able to run apps like this, there's literally no argument anyone can propose to legitimately argue against this.
Switch has the technology and technical capacity to run this app and any other one like it, if you're arguing against this you're basically begging for this device to be less feature packed, which is absurd.
Naughty Dog had a great analogy for how optimization works, which they published years ago, it went something like this:
"Imagine the hardware you're working on is a cup and your game code is the contents of the cup, with your first project you fill the cup with rocks, but in the next one you can put pebbles in the gaps between the rocks, after that you can put stones in the gaps between the pebbles, then you can use gravel and then sand.
You may...
Sony have never had a 5 year long generation, history supports a 6 year generation as most likely, with 7 years being a possibility, based on how long PS3 had on the market before PS4 released.
As for GPU performance, Flop ratings really don't mean much, but going from PS3 to PS4, PS3 had 250GFlops of perf, PS4 has 1840GFlops, so in raw flops PS4 packs 7-8X the raw performance of PS3's GPU, the trend would tend to favor PS5 as having around 14-15TFlops.

Going by the way Phil has described Scorpio it's Microsoft's more powerful Xbox One, it will share the same library of games as Xbox One, but they'll run better if developers take advantage of the increased hardware performance.
4K isn't guaranteed in every game, the games that run at 1080p on the base Xbox One should be able to run Scorpio optimized versions at 4K, but if games are 900p or lower on Xbox One it may be the case that Scorpio runs them at some ...
Insomniac moved on to develop Spider-Man basically immediately after finishing Sunset Overdrive, R&C also seems to have have achieved greater critical industry acclaim and sales than Sunset Overdrive, so it's more likely that they'd devote any spare resources to the next R&C game on PS4 or use those resources to plan for the next Spider-Man game, as the IG deal covers more than one Marvel/Sony exclusive.
Insomniac have said that Spider-Man uses the largest p...
If developers work on making them feel alive, pack in elements that can create truly emergent and surprising gameplay events then it makes having boundless sandboxes worthwhile.
The volume of mediocre OWGs just makes the few great ones stand out.
@obscure: What 3 major things did Microsoft announce this week?
@dmn666: You know Sucker Punch have been working on a new AAA game since they shipped Infamous Second Son right?
From Software apparently has a 2nd PS4 exclusive in development.
Japan studio have been working on something comparable to Final Fantasy for a very long time.
Naughty Dog also have a 3rd project they haven't announced yet, which has been in development for a long time.

I really don't get how gamers can say they're bored of open worlds in games, it's just a type of canvas for developers to work within. Devs should use the types of game worlds that suit their vision.
I guess it's more a case of how some developers have used the game style and content variety that they're really fatiguing on.
Actually you would need to have an understanding of me as a person or at least my preferences as a consumer of a dedicated game system to understand why I'd buy X game system and use it as my primary system.
Hell you've ignored 3 solid factors that are important too me, which would have caused me to jump ship, but you just assume you have all the answers, even though I've written multiple posts about this very subject, on this very website.
If Switch is...
@higgins: Utter nonsense, ME & Red Dead certainly aren't chav fodder, chavs don't tend to like Westerns or Sci-Fi Space Adventure RPG's.
While chavs may play GTA, five is currently sitting at a 97 on PS4's metacritic rating, the series is undoubtedly one of the greatest gaming franchises of all time and to miss out on these or future entries just hurts Nintendo's bottom line and it's why they've been losing market share for years.

It's basically impossible for Scorpio to end up costing $700, even with an 8 Core Ryzen CPU, 40CU Vega GPU and 12GBs of GDDR5, along with a 2TB hybrid HDD and a 4K Bluray drive there's not enough tech to push a console higher than $499.
However it's highly unlikely Microsoft will use Ryzen because the SoC DIE would have to be too big and the different CPU architecture would require some specific optimizations to get all of XB1's games to run flawlessly on Scorpio. <...
