I'm surprised other companies aren't trying something like this.
If power becomes an issue for Nintendo Switch then suitable adverts for the gaming audience and free Wifi in public areas like cafés, restaurants, libraries, etc could be an answer to that potential issue when the 9th gen fixed home consoles launch.

NVidia's Geforce Now is expensive now, at $25 for 20 hours of play, but considering how cheap beastly gaming hardware is becoming advert ...

Actually Nintendo's wording can interpreted in more than one way.
Because Nintendo haven't explicitly stated that Switch needs to be docked to make some use of the dock, it is possible it's Data Transport capabilities could extend to Switch streaming data wirelessly through Blutooth or some streaming tech to the dock and the dock then puts that image on the TV.

It wouldn't require hefty processing in the Dock, plus it is also possible for the Switch...

@whitesox: Bighead? Who's that? An N4g user's name or someone you have made up a nickname for on this Forum?

All fanboys are a plague, my point is there's no point arguing over personal opinion, you have yours, we all like what we like, don't get so touchy if someone likes something you don't.

@Showan: Most people use what they buy, otherwise there's no point in them buying the thing in the first place.
It's pretty easy for anyone that owns a PS4 to see who out of their friends are playing games, that info MS is giving can be found without Phil or any XBox Exec tweeting it.

Could just be because they're the only VR hardware platform holder within the console market right now, if they had another party to compare themselves against it would make sense to reveal numbers, so people could tell how they stack up.

Perhaps it's difficult to track figures so close to release and they're waiting for new stock orders from retailers to tell what's sold through or what's just sitting on shelves, sounds like they may have under produced...

You inferred that 17-25 Million people buy each Forza game, 5 sold about 2.2m, whereas gt6 had sold more than double that.

GT is always a quality product, Forza games are great too, quit the trolling and just play whichever you enjoy.

It's possible Switch could stream gameplay to any tv through the dock, but I get the impression Nintendo will want to avoid comparisons to Wii U.
The Dock isn't the system, the Tablet is the system, so when you take the tablet out of the Dock gameplay or digital content won't be shown on your TV for a person that has a Pro-Controller or Joycon Grip to interact with Switch games or Apps.

You could play local multiplayer the standard console way, or play ...

With an hour long event I expect Nintendo will focus on launch day and launch window games (every title coming out before the Fall), any games releasing this Fall will likely be announced at E3 or in a major Direct around E3 time.
System prices, bundles and basic specs like screen resolution, internal storage, number/types of ports & connections and included peripherals will likely be detailed at the event or in marketing materials released online by Nintendo.

Can you provide an example of how MS has influenced the industry with their own invention or ideas?
MS has actually changed their whole XB1 focus right from kinect being locked to the system, to 24 hour online connection being needed to both of those major points being changed and now the console has had no new system exclusives since Halo 5 launched.

MS has changed direction from stupid initial plans, which made no logical sense, to another one, which makes their ...

If it's franchises that already have an established multiplatform audience I agree, but if it's fresh first or second party new IPs then that's good IMO.
If MS or any other publisher's studios invent a great new game franchise then the platform holder should choose where they want to release the game.

There's nothing Scorpio will be capable of that a certain level of PC won't be able to do better.
It all comes down to the games, wit...

@Bizarro: Minecraft is played more than just about any other game, it's certainly played more than any of the XB1 titles you mentioned.

FYI Minecraft was developed by Notch long before MS had eyes on Mojang, it's not like MS developed that game.
Just because you insist a game is played more than another that doesn't make it a fact, you'd need to provide evidence to support your inference as a fact.

Sure existing for 15 years within the console market is something, but it's not really a milestone, a milestone would be them leading in some area like hardware or software sales for the generation, which simply hasn't been the case.

The introduction of Play Anywhere just feels like Microsoft has no faith in XB1, because they don't believe the system can sell sufficient units of games by itself, so the publisher is more interested in putting it's games on PC...

While I doubt Scorpio will cost 499 (PS4 Pro's gpu could be clocked to hit 6tflops if the system can accommodate the thermal levels of the part), it would have made more sense for Phil Spencer to have actually done the job he was given back in like 2010 and find developers to increase the company's output of games releases.

Hell 343 and co should have all been encouraged to find more talent, as well as work on making new IPs.
MS could have even brought grea...

True, the slew of real AAA exclusives coming to PS4 over the next few months and throughout the rest of the year will keep many in PS4's ecosystem, with many new PS4's & Pros being sold, Nintendo Switch will also likely have a tonne of unique games which will give more people incentive to buy that system over Scorpio.

These XBox Diehards love to ignore anything that is obviously going to prevent their agenda from becoming a reality.
The fact both Switc...

I can already buy an RX 480 or GTX 1060 cheap, pair them with a reasonable CPU, build an overall better level of games machine and play all but a few XB1/Scorpio games now at a level beyond what Scorpio will be capable of, yet the Pro and base PS4 are still enjoyed by the masses.

Pro and OG PS4 will continue to get more unique games, Nintendo Switch will likely also have it's own games that give gamers a reason to buy it, plus the portability factor will add to that inc...

So you think Microsoft will be putting a CPU in Scorpio that will use around 90 watts at base clockspeeds, along with a GPU that will use over 100 watts?
MS would need a bigger box than the Pro and the SOC will be prohibitively huge and expensive to produce.
If Ryzen is in Scorpio then it would likely be 4 physical cores, with MS calling their 8 threads virtual cores, clockspeeds will likely be half of the retail PC hardware to reduce power consumption to a quarter of the 8 ...

@wonderfulmonkeyman: Don't know if you've seen his videos, but OBE1plays on youtube is doing a 12 days of Nintendo Switch leaks and in the 1st one he says that a legit source has told him the next Assassin's Creed game releasing on PS4 and XB1 will also release on Switch.
Laura Kate Dale confirmed she's heard AC will be released on Switch in the same day too.

Gaf also had a game dev who is a member of the site that has discovered that the console an...

@sk8: I actually understand the technoligies involved, it's not something you or anyone can argue against, NVidia's 2015 architecture is night and day more efficient than even 2016 AMD tech, comparing Maxwell to 2012-13 AMD tech there's a massive difference between the final output performance, Nvidia are miles ahead of AMD.

DF confirm this in their own retail GPU tests, they even state in the latest Switch rumor article that they don't know the exact specs ...

The mainline Uncharted games on PS3 were all Fall window releases, yet the 4th on PS4 came out in Spring, I don't think SCEI and their devs are working a particular schedule for their established franchises, but GoW does carry it's own weight like Uncharted.

Back when PS4 GoW was revealed and Cory got questioned about when it would release he basically said it's not far off, made it seem like 2017 was happening, same thing for Detroit, David Cage didn't give...

As I replied below your beliefs are unfounded.

BTW NVidia GPU architecture is significantly more efficient when it comes to memory requirements, it's not clear that Switch only has 3GBs of RAM, but even if it does internal GPU caches and the way Maxwell/Pascal render graphics or handle general GPU compute isn't the same as the older and less advanced AMD tech in the base PS4 and XB1.

The fact Nintendo chose NVidia, despite their past console relat...
