If the rumors about it being 3-4X more powerful than Wii U are true, but that's raw performance, looking at hardware features which allow devs to do more with it's going to end up with a better level of output than that initial 3-4X Wii U figure shows on paper.
That's likely the docked full clock speed and when portable Switch offers 40% of that.
In handheld mode you have to bare in mind that you're playing on what is going to be a smaller that 10 i...
I get where you're coming from, but Switch shouldn't only be compared to the consoles, it's a portable as well and it's value will come from the fact you can play it anywhere or anytime you can focus your time on gaming.
You can't take an XB1 or PS4 anywhere with you in a small backpack, you'd have to also carry a huge, portable power supply capable running those systems, as well as a TV. While Switch could be half the power of XB1 it also has it'...
Wii U was a 176gflop system, using old 2011/2012 AMD gpu architecture, this is rumored to be 3-4X that in raw performance and probably has a more efficient API, as well as hardware mods to make better use of the available tech compared to what was possible back when Wii U released.
I'm a PS4 fanboy and the prospect of what Switch could offer is for me, along more than just the Nintendo Fanboys. I certainly find Switch more enticing than XB1 or Scorpio, given Nintendo wi...
It could be halfway between Wii u and XB1 using NVidia's Maxwell architecture and still get decent battery life running games at 1080p, better life at 720p with lower settings.
The dock seems to be included, $250 for the base system, dock and a Joycon Grip seems likely and a fair price.
We'll see come Thursday.
Rumors from LKD, Emily Rogers and Eurogamer pegged the performance at 3 -4X Wii U, Wii U sits at 176gflops, so it could be the equivalent of 568-704gflops, when compared to 2011/2012 AMD 6-7000 series tech, about half XB1 or slightly less.
The system's SOC is probably based on Tegra X1, with mods, maybe a 2x increase in memory bus width, added gpu and cpu cache, possibly an extra SM unit or 2, the clock speeds mentioned by Eurogamer would get Switch there with that kind...
True, it's very thin, but MS needs to have somthing besides Halo, etc.
It's possible MS have internal teams working on other new projects besides the usual Halo/Forza /Gears fair and the stuff we know about, like maybe 343 has a new IP in the works as a showpiece for Scorpio, 100 people on the scale of Sony Bend could put out a decent new IP in 4 years, they need to do something other than Halo and the usual stuff Microsoft Studios put out.
Tbh though the only things...
Microsoft had better have something new for XB1 and Scorpio, otherwise there's really little reason to even bother with E3 this year, they need to have games to launch Scorpio this Fall, Forza Motorsport 7, Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3 won't cut it this year, there would be no exclusives since PC is getting them.
Seems like Nintendo will have a fair bit to announce for Switch and Sony already has a load announced for PS4, hardware alone isn't enough to sustain...
Lies don't make for a good argument, it only takes a quick google search to see PS4 has had way more exclusives since launch than XB1 has and in the last year Microsoft has been abandoning exclusives in favor of getting additional sales on PC.
Both systems have had games, so there's no need to lie to the extreme about games consoles and their games libraries.
At the current count there are no new XBox exclusives coming out this year and there haven't been any released since Halo 5 came out.
Sony doesn't exactly have Jap Indie stuff as their focus, it's very much AAA, Horizon is a massive Western AAA game, Ni-Oh is similar to Souls, a genre which isn't niche now and GR2 looks like a quality super hero action game, all of those are true exclusives and coming by Spring.
There's loads more real exclusive...
As someone who loved the OG XBox and 360 it's been hard to watch what Phil and co have been doing with XB1.
After getting into PlayStation last gen it became clear how Sony would handle their line-up of exclusives with PS4 and the fruits of Shuhei Yoshida's management style have been coming to fruition.
Even though Wii U had poor 3rd Party support Nintendo still supported the platform with unique exclusives, combine that together with great support for the ...
It seems Shinobi on Neogaf (a renowned, genuine insider) has eluded to Crackdown 3 being safe, but it's apparently had development issues. It probably helps that the IP is already established, Scalebound being fresh and externally developed likely adds extra cost, plus it's harder to follow development as closely when you have to arrange to travel to another company's offices and plan progress meetings.
Sea of Thieves being internally developed, within Microsoft...
Looking at what's still in development and to come to XB1 that has been announced or is pretty much a given with Microsoft's track record the system doesn't like it has much in the way of unique games.
With Scalebound canceled, it only seems like Halo Wars 2, Forza Motorsport 7, Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves will be the major releases for XBox, but none of those are really exclusive.
Sure there are some indies that will release on XBox Play Anywhere, b...
Technically Nier Automata isn't exclusive because it's going to be available on another platform (PC). That game does look like another awesome addition to PS4's game library though.
I heard the demo was great from many people who tried it, I've avoided playing it so I don't get anything spoiled before I buy the full release.
For one thing Ready at Dawn were independent and to my recollection they never said anything about their engine only being for PS4.
Guerilla are owned by Sony and their code is made for Sony hardware, while it's possible to port that code to another computing device it would require Guerilla or Sony's permission to do so, otherwise Kojima would open himself up to legal action.
Most likely Death Stranding will stay a PS4 exclusive while Kojima uses the Decim...
As edmix has said you can't really trademark a young man with Dragon Armor powers, who rides and interacts with his Dragon friend, so it's possible any Publisher could take a stab at putting something like this together as a new IP in the future.
Platinum could rework the idea and arrange a deal with a new Publisher to ge a spiritual counterpart to this released. Seems like the gameplay interactions between the lead and dragon had been worked out, lots of stuff para...
Well Obe1_Plays on YouTube has said Platinum could be working on a Switch exclusive, so maybe the resources could be added to that game's development, they probably have some other game(s) along the scale of Transformers Devastation in the works too.
Scalebound didn't look all that compelling IMO and Microsoft revealed it way too soon, but it was meant to release this year, crazy how things can change so soon after the game being shown running better at E3 last year...
This looks phenomenal, along with Gravity Rush 2 and Ni-Oh Sony have an insane line-up of early 2017 exclusives.
With Nintendo Switch getting it's proper reveal in 2 days, along with a slew of launch titles it's a great time to be a gamer.
Guerilla have said you can go anywhere you can see, perhaps there will be limitations during the start of the game, like when Aloy is introduced and you're learning the basics of the game, but once you're outside her village, exploring things will open up.
I think Guerilla have even hinted at underground areas.
It's definitely open world, which is why the studio developed the Decima Engine.
@Edmix: Nintendo haven't defined what they mean by "dock provides an output to the TV", it's not a specific statement that denies the possibility of Switch talking wireless to the dock and the dock needing to have Switch docked in order for it's audio and visuals to be sent to your TV.
Nintendo also hasn't talked about the platform's specific capabilities, that's what next Friday/Saturday is all about.
TBH it's something cheap ...
Obviously the big ones would be the next game from Sucker Punch, the Bruce Straley headed game at Naughty Dog and Sony Japan are rumored to have a massive new IP in the works.
London never officially canceled Eight Days or The Getaway and they haven't released a major console game since the PS2 days, despite still having a large workforce on par with Sony's big boys.
From Software probably have the team that made Bloodborne working on something new.
