With Trademarks there has to be genuine intention for product to eventually release, you can't just claim a name and concept and not use it.
I've said multiple times in topics relating to Xbox's future games lineup that 343i have the resources to handle more than just Halo games.
If Microsoft owns the rights to Scalebound and they intend to keep developing the game then it's a pretty rubbish thing to do towards Platinum Games to keep developing and eventually release their creation using another studio.
With Trademarks there has to be some intention to use the project and release the product...
These aren't so much predictions as they are very likely to happen, besides God of War, which is most likely a 2017 release.
It just makes sense for Sony to give their New IPs like Days Gone, Dreams, Detroit, Sucker Punch's next game and the next big game made by From Software space to breath in 2018 and push out GT Sport, Spidey, God of War and Knack 2 in the second half of 2017.
TLOU:P2 could be late 2018 or early 2019, Ready at Dawn, Sumo Digital, Supermassive Gam...
Shinobi602 says "So there's a Major unannounced AAA that Microsoft has marketing on. Not bad Xbox. Bring on E3".
He's not saying it's some unannounced exclusive or timed exclusive, most likely one of Bethesda's unannounced games, like The Evil Within 2 or the sequel to Wolfenstein The New Order is being marketed with Microsoft.
Could even be a surprise new game from EA or Ubisoft, like a new IP or the next Farcry will be revealed on Micros...
If you're sincere in your "Good research" comment, thanks.
Microsoft's relations with external developers are pretty strained now, any partnerships will require them giving up control of the direction new developments go in. They can't be the tyrannical dictators they have been towards creative studios. They have to learn that if they want developers to put out games that will expand their influence beyond the traditional Xbox gamer that developers nee...
Neogaf has a thread covering the status of each platform holder's Studios, in Microsoft one it's stated that Decisive Games were disbanded in early 2016, actually Black Tusk were known as Microsoft Game Studios Vancouver and prior to that they were called Zipline Studios, they were always known about.
Microsoft closed 5 studios in early 2016, I'm pretty sure the 2 you're referring too were among those Kinect teams that got axed, if not then that's good.
...
What New studios have Microsoft created which are still a part of the company?
We've known about Crackdown 3 since E3 2013, Forza is basically a given every year, with Motorsport coming in the fall of each odd numbered year.
Halo comes every 3 years, so we can already pretty much guarantee that's going to be at Microsoft's conference.
Sure State of Decay and Sea of Thieves will be covered too, but out of the developers Microsoft's got where...
It looks awesome for sure.
I love the Axe, which seems a bit like Mjölnir, with it's ability to fly back to Kratos once he's thrown it at an enemy.
Kratos has always been the weapon and while the Blades of Chaos were cool, he can pretty easily rip many foes to pieces with his bare hands.
I can't wait to take control of him in this game and get up close with the monsters that were shown in the E3 2016 demo, hell Dragons, Trolls, massive Sna...
For the most part Santa Monica help with getting a lot of games on PlayStation systems, they created another IP called Kinetica for the PS2, but they have tried to make at least one other new Franchise pretty recently, which was targeting a 2014 release, but Sony apparently invested over $100m into the concept and the Studio couldn't make the game work.
It was apparently called Darkside, was open world, I think it's been said it was futuristic, some people leaking i...
The first game was a lot of fun, Knack 2 doesn't have anything to atone for.
We'll probably get the initial gameplay reveal for TLoUP2 at E3, ND have been working on it for a while now.
Most likely SP will reveal their new IP with great real time footage, along with a few other surprises from either internal 1st party Sony studios or 2nd/3rd Party Partners Sony have been working with.
New gameplay, information and release dates for games Sony have announced, like Days Gone, Detroit, GoW, Spider-Man, Knack 2, etc will hopefully be there ...
It's very unlikely Nintendo will get 3rd party support where it matters, from the west.
I wouldn't hold my breath for Red Dead, Call of Duty, Battlefront, Destiny, etc coming to Switch.
MS always over promises and under delivers, there's very little potential for their presentation.
Sony have been going hard on awesome new games at their events, this is likely the one where we find out about what Sucker Punch's new IP is, GoW for...
I'm not sure who's articles or information you're ready but it's all but confirmed Sucker Punch are working on a new IP and that's very likely to be a big deal at Sony's presentation.
Days Gone, Detroit and Dreams will likely get new information, gameplay and release dates for 2018.
Plenty of potential new IPs could get announced by Sony's partners, like From Software, Supermassive Games, Sumo Digital or new Partners that they haven'...
Chances are Read Dead 2 will be delayed into 2018, Sony also has Days Gone, Detroit, Dreams and it's pretty likely whatever Sucker Punch and From Software are working on could all land next year, maybe even The Last of Us Part 2 could release in Fall 2018, which would make for 6 new major PS4 exclusives in one year.
None of the major multiplats announced for this Fall are like the PS4's exclusives, except for Project Cars 2, but GT is undoubtedly the bigger IP.
No one has information outside of Santa Monica and Sony to say for sure, but it's been in development since late 2013 when Cory Barlog began building his team from staff already working at Santa Monica Studio.
If it was coming in 2018 it doesn't make any sense to not say so.
Out of the properties Sony already have announced God of War, Spider-Man, Knack 2 and GT Sport are already established and given the genres they occupy there's no multiplats that th...
WiLD looked great, I love the idea of being able to possess any animal in the game's natural world and dealing with spirits/gods of that world, the potential for interesting and exciting emergent gameplay is really cool IMO.
Hopefully we'll get info and gameplay for this and Matterfall at E3 (loving Alienation and Resogun still provides awesome gameplay to this day).
Could be their time, given we live in a world where TLG, Until Dawn, Ni-Oh, Nier-Automata and Gravity Rush 2 actually released those games could make up Sony's 3rd Year of Dreams.
Maybe add in Deep Down, WiLD and Matterfall updates.
Pair all that with Sucker Punch and From Software revealing new PS4 exclusives and it would be a ridiculously awesome Sony show.
Not to forget release dates and new gameplay for GT Sport, God of War, Spider-Man, K...
It will be nice to see new games announced for the first time and revealed with actual gameplay, from Sony, because you know Microsoft has this tendency to do it with CG and the games either take way longer to actually turn into anything real or they get canceled by the truckload.
When you're the market leader in anything you are your own competition.
Sure when a rival company steps their game up and pushes to be on your level that should make you work harder, but really it's your own passion for the products you make and desire to improve compared to your last project that makes you the best at what you do.
Sony clearly wants to better themselves and gives their devs the freedom and funding to keep improving.
After 2 of the greatest E3's in at least the last decade and the potential that still remains with Sony's game development prowess and their relationships with the wider development community outside of PlayStation it's hard for me to temper my hype for Sony's show this year.
