It will be interesting what Microsoft and Sony bring. The Wii U will have at least a year ahead of them with software, so by then the Wii U line-up will be much more than it is now. Nintendo needs to concentrate on getting Wii U functionality into their games and differentiate themselves from the others. They won't be able to compete on hardware specs.
Same thing when Mass Effect 2 came out on the PS3, it too was $60 even though it was released earlier on the PC and Xbox 360.
This is why sales for November will be the biggest month of the year. Here's a couple of deals from this article;
250GB PS3 Uncharted 3 Bundle - $269.99 w/ free $50 gift card
PS Vita Call of Duty: Black Ops - Declassifed Bundle - $249.99 w/ free $50 gift card
Yes and once they do watch all the whining ensue about how unfair it is.
Their list;
1. Money Instead of Points
2. 2. External Hard Drives
3. Fewer Ads on the Dashboard
4. More Open to Game Patches
5. Xbox Live Gold Competing with PS+
While I agree with those choices I also want to add some of my own.
1. More original games
2. The ability to actually play others online for free
3. Hardware that doesn't break d...
We won't see an official announcement until some time next year. Here's what I would do,
March 2013 - sell the 4GB Kinect bundle and 250GB model for $199 and the 4GB model for $149.
E3 2013 - announce new Xbox with a price and sell those systems above for $149 and $99 respectively.
We will see the same thing yet again. People rushing out to Metacritic to give it a low score because they can, people on game forums much like this one bashing it without playing the game, and the same issues we always see from their end of games not working right and how they will be taking harsh stances against problem players online that don't seem to rectify the problem.
Since when does EA actually listen to their fans? Battlefield 3 would be on Steam, we would not have online passes for single player games, there would be roster updates for sports games annually without the need to buy a new game each year, they would not drop online support so quickly, the list goes on.
Bottom line, there's no reason to be an idiot. What you do in the privacy of your own home is a different matter (offline). However posting offensive videos and attacking other players should not be accepted.
Parents really need to be doing a better job at educating their kids of what is and what isn't acceptable. It really shouldn't come to this but obviously there's a need.
As for the first amendment comment above, that does not apply to se...
If both games cost $60 and the PS3 version has more content then of course people should pick that one given the choice. The article is just suggesting it's not a deal breaker and the added content really isn't that much. As a PS3 owner I would get the PS3 copy but there's no sense in not getting the Xbox 360 game if you prefer Xbox Live, or don't own a PS3 and are thinking of getting a PS3 just for the added content.
"Honestly, I don't see why Microsoft refuses to not allow us to use our own hard drive like Sony does. It would be one thing if piracy was the issue, but the 360 has already been hacked. I just think that this is another one of Microsoft's poor policies. "
Now ask yourself, who's policy was it to make the memory cards proprietary for Vita? Perhaps you should have bought a new Xbox 360 with a large hard drive in the first place since you already knew the ...
The vocal minority have always tried to drown out the majority, nothing new. Most people still don't even bother commenting on forums to begin with. If the game sells 20 million copies how many actually voice their opinions within game forums like this one? Now add up those who have backlashed about GTA 5, that's even less.
I imagine PS+ will handle BC along with Gaikai. It makes sense for Sony to further promote a subscription based model while at the same time offering basic online multiplayer for free.
Sony "if you can understand our commercials you get a free Vita"
Microsoft "we don't comment on rumors or speculation even though 98% of the time they are true".
Nintendo "we're going to party like it's 1999"
This part really hits the nail on the head
"In my opinion, gamers get the press they deserve. I watched over the weekend a segment on Gametrailers.com called "Bonus Round." It was essentially a roundtable with three guests and the host. It was an end-of-the-year type deal. Yes, an end-of-the-year type deal in early November. Screw the most important part of the gaming year, the holiday season, let's rush this sucker out because we have no shame. They hilari...
This is from the article
"The moral of this mish-mash story is: Console elitism can **** right off."
Love it.
Digital copies should be cheaper, glad to see Sony pushing that notion.
"Downloadable purchases made by one Nintendo Network user can be played by other users on the same console."
Good to know.
So what happens when someone leaks it online to what's inside, will everyone keep trying or not care anymore?
I never understood the appeal of a unified tally of your achievements. The only purpose they seem to serve is giving those with more time on their hands bigger bragging rights.
I do see the incentive for a reward system on a game to game basis. The problem right now is not all games are created equally. We still have games that reward the player for simply going through something as simple as a tutorial. So when we see some guy (or gal) with a huge Achievement score or a ridi...
