Love the series. Here's hoping they don't make it too action-oriented for the sake of more mass-appeal.
There's no need in Sony abandoning the console market, at least not until the demand goes away. What I think will happen is what we perceive as a game console will slowly change with each system like we've been seeing. Consoles today do a lot more than just gaming. Sony's acquisition of Gaikai will also change what a console does and further extend Sony's reach of getting consumers.
Upset? What an odd thing to say since I still have the Xbox 360 Collectors Edition for the first Mass Effect and my Xbox Live Gamertag used to be the N7 avatar that came with the package.
I was clarifying the topic title since if you read the details within it it says "While it may be Xbox 360-exclusive on launch, PS3 and PC gamers will no doubt be able to download it a few weeks after it’s available."
So please keep your PS3 or 360 fanboy comments ...
The title should read "timed-exclusive".
"I don’t know how a game of this size, with everything going on, can look this good and still support a rewind utility, fully functioning car interiors and a full day/night cycle. I don’t know how the frame rate for this enormous game remains resolutely locked, because whether you’re racing under headlights or screaming down the freeway at over 400 kilometres per hour it never, ever dips. It might as well be witchcraft. I don’t know how it does it. It just does."

We will find out soon enough. What I'm more worried about is how the new Nintendo Network runs, along with MiiVerse, and how mutiplayer will be on the Wii U.
I like the new look and I think by having constant updates through feedback will be very beneficial for the upcoming PS4. Plus with the Gaikai acquisition, now is a great time for a brand new look and redesign. It can also help push the current PS3 and Vita hardware because it brings added attention.
The 3DO had little software support and was way too expensive, if anything that system many years ago was more niche than any of the current consoles today.
How does something that still literally sells multi-millions of units per year count as niche? Just because there are now billions of people who play Solitaire on the PC or Angry Birds on non-console devices doesn't mean consoles have become niche. You also have to view who funds the industry the most? Those who buy o...
As long as it's easy to navigate and find the stuff I want quickly, that's all I really care about. I do like this new look though.
I guess that's why they call it competitive mode. In theory it sounds good, you're there to stay, not drop in and out of games if you don't like the match. I have yet to play so I cannot comment of the actual execution, but I don't like my team-mates dropping and leaving me stranded.
Funny how after all of these years they still can't get matchmaking right that alleviates those who quit early and those who just want a fair and enjoyable match.
25 extra 'Ninja Gaiden Hard' levels? Count me in.
This game keeps sounding better and better. Can't wait.
Maybe I'm watching too much baseball right now but my first thought was the Catcher and Pitcher giving hand signals in future games.
"For my money, Steam’s option to pre-load the game for $10 less than its console variant and receive Civilization V for free is the clincher."
Another reason why I'm getting it on PC. You also get some in-game items for free as well. Either way it looks like an awesome game on any platform.

The painting has holy teachings written around its frame. "Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty,"
How is that offensive?
I'm sure if there was a stack of Playboy magazines by the toilet someone would complain about that too.
I agree, we need to support new ip's.

Sony didn't seem to have a problem then. I think this has more to do with this ad:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I think he was removed from that ad. Perhaps he had a contract (with Sony) that didn't allow him to advertise competitive brands. You would think Jer...
When Phil Harrison joined Microsoft was he told to put on a wig whenever he's out in public? I'm not sure how Sony can own the copyright of an actor unless that character, Kevin Butler, was co-created with Sony.
There are lots of actors that have their own style attached to them that they carry into other roles. The only legal backing I see is if Kevin Butler was owned by Sony and Jerry Lambert was not allowed to mention that name on another product. I don't know ...
GarandShooter, they still didn't get off scott-free. There were plenty of articles talking about it and gamers finally had a voice since Microsoft tried to push it under the carpet early on. So not only did it cost Microsoft financially but it also upset a lot of consumers.
They curbed it a bit by extending the warranty to 3 years but that only included the RROD, not anything else. They got bad publicity, had over a 1 billion dollar fund to deal with it and lost some con...
Nintendo doesn't want to make the mistake of overpricing it's hardware. They learned that with the 3DS. They could have went all out and had a Wii U gamepad that was expensive and cost $200+ to make and the system itself that was $300+ to make but that's not what Nintendo is about. They want to offer a Nintendo style experience as affordable as possible and without them losing money.
I still think the $349 bundle offers better value than the $299 bundle though.
