If big publishers like EA refuse to release games that take a chance, then having Kickstarter programs might be the future.
The hate is usually unjustified however there could be a few legitimate reasons why people are upset. The main reason is the power and influence behind the franchise. It can and does drown out other games because of its popularity. All that means to me is those other games need to try harder but the problem is most times they can't afford the same type of marketing. There are many diamonds in the rough that gamers often neglect or don't bother with.
Others reasons cou...

Ninja Gaiden II ended up being on the PS3 even though it too was published by Microsoft. It just used a different name, Ninja Gaiden Sigma II. Ninja Gaiden 3 was already available on the PS3 and Xbox 360, not sure what's stopping them from adding new content and an update.
This could very well be a good game for children. It's just too bad the E3 presentation didn't go over very well.

It's not entirely a useless feature. What about a game like ZombieU playing in co-op and watching your friend squirm and react while playing?
What's next, they want to charge you more to buy Xbox Music if more than one person is listening?
This will never pass, the ability to charge more pending on how many people are in the vicinity. What is more likely is the camera detecting how many people and perhaps each having an option to vote on the like and dislike of a movie. Microsoft is trying to socialize all media.
It's still about money, so unless Nintendo invested in this version I expect these new additions to somehow make it over to the other systems.
What people often neglect is the technical abilities on the Wii U and how it compares to the other consoles, and that is the GamePad. Some games struggle in splitscreen on existing consoles because it has to do more processing. I imagine the GamePad also uses more processing power in order to do two separate functions at once.
Nintendo is once again looking out for our best interests. This is obviously why Nintendo held out in the first place to not support optical drives way back in the N64 days. They knew lawsuits would have piled up with gamers getting nasty cuts and thankfully they had the Dreamcast and original Playstation to test-pilot how to handle those discs with proper care. After all, Nintendo owners are very different and need guidance from Nintendo all the time. Why they didn't offer a very expensi...

It's pretty hard to find a reviewer who will always match your own taste. As for Star Wars fans I will agree that not are all created equally. The consensus out there seems to be that The Empire Strikes Back was the best but that isn't written in stone. That's kind of what I take from all reviews and that is a common theme among them. If they all say the controls are crap then it would be something I'd be worried about. If one or two reviews gi...
You then have to ask yourself, what purpose is the review there to serve? Is it based on their own experience or should it be based on how the general public should view it?
Famitsu is a magazine published in Japan. It seems to me those reviews are aimed more at the Japanese culture. I'm not suggesting IGN should put an American stamp on all their reviews, but I do think the reviewers should be professional (not just IGN) and knowledgeable in the field they represent. Mea...
People should play it and it's good to see it be more widely available.
@admiralvic
You do bring up a good point and it applies to those who take the time to look into the details.
Back in the day there were arcades (they are still around but not nearly as much aside from maybe Japan). You used to brag about your high score and put your initials up for all to see. (watch the movie King of Kong, it really highlights the competitiveness of gaming) These achievement/reward/trophy applications try and replicate that. I see the appea...
Lone Survivor is currently $10 on Steam (and has been lower in the past). How much will they charge for Vita and PS3 versions?
Half Life 3 isn't a new IP, it's an extension of an existing one. As for why those threequels didn't reach the heights as the author mentions, it's because the excitement isn't there like it would be for a whole new franchise.
I find it far more exciting to see what Bungie brings us next as opposed to Halo Reach. Not because Halo Reach was a bad game, far from it. It's because Destiny is a whole new universe and that's when our imaginations go wild...
I think common sense goes a long ways. The odd swear word isn't likely to get you banned, telling people to go **** themselves and being aggressive will. We all want to enjoy our games, both online and offline, without being badgered by some foul-mouthed gamer who can't control themselves.
Besides, if your vocabulary is made up of mostly cuss words then perhaps a microphone isn't what you need. Maybe going back to school and educating yourself is a more important ...
You're dreaming if you think people will gravitate towards linux. I find it rather ironic how people are upset at Microsoft when Steam has been supporting Apple for quite some time and their ecosystem is even more closed off and their computers are much harder to upgrade.
There have been more issues among the free-to-play model than the author wants to acknowledge. Some games work but a lot of them don't.
When you use a device on a regular basis it's functionality is very important. This is why many prefer Steam over Origin for example. Hint, hint, EA. I also expect the PS4 to function way better within the start-up menu and search engine.
This is an good way of getting people to buy a Vita. This is some tremendous value coming from being a Plus member and for those who currently or plan on owning a PS3 and Vita.
Sony is doing an excellent job at promoting PS3 owners to get a Vita, and now with Plus being attached to Vita they are giving non-PS3 owners more reason to get a Vita.
