@Abash
If you're sick of hearing rumors for the PS4 then why read them?

What I find rather ironic about this article (if true) is how Sony went from being a pioneer of bringing BC to game consoles and really benefiting from this feature, to now almost shying away from it and instead try and get consumers to buy the same game over again (remastered or original). Not everyone wants multiple systems lying around, which is why it was a popular feature to begin with. A...

It's likely to be something along the lines of Microsoft Windows where you need to verify you are the original owner.

Someone either

A) Thought it was a spoiler

or

B) Took it completely out of context from the words "Shut Up Idiot"

I have a feeling many will be complaining about the moderating process since people think they can say whatever they want versus the other half that will complain about good old common sense. You can't say whatever you want but it also takes common sense to realize this comment from Jim Sterling was...

Pretty useless article. We know nothing of the direction it's headed or who will be in the cast of characters.

"They’re starting to run out of steam now in terms of continuing to be relevant in 2011 and beyond. I mean, you’ve gotta be kidding me. Why would I buy a gaming system without a hard drive in it? How does this thing scale? Motion gaming is cute, but if I can only wave my arms six inches, how do...

Of course it will fit on all models.

These are the joys of a launch for a new system. I imagine the phone lines for customer service will be long and frustrating.

Hopefully there is a backup plan if your power gets disconnected or you accidentally unplug your device while it's trying to update the system.

I said before that it will be awhile before everything on the Wii U is running properly. That's one of the reasons why I'm wai...

It could be multiple reasons.

A) Marketing
B) Price
C) Software
D) Competition
E) Desire and need
F) Identity crisis

There's a whole slew of reasons why it may not be selling as well as hoped. My own opinion is Sony has marketed Vita as a partnership with the PS3. So what you have is a smaller market to sell to since many PS3 owners don't really see a need to get a Vita just yet. Promoting PS+ is a start.

@yewles1

Two totally different scenarios. Declassified by all accounts was a rushed product to be ready in time for the launch of Vita. Black Ops 2 was developed alongside the PC and Xbox 360 and they still struggle to show why the PS3 is newer and better technology. Is it due to laziness on their part? Possibly.

Blame Activision all you want, the problem is the end result and that is PS3 owners are not getting the best product possible. That is likely becaus...

Jinkies, you never even detailed as to why it wasn't a good story. So who's the actual troll, one making a generalization towards all Call of Duty games and not explaining why the story is so bad for Black Ops 2 while talking about Uncharted 2 instead, or someone who's asking if you've even played it and having you not answer?

Now that truly is hilarious.

That's not the same show. If you look the new airing was with the black Wii U, that Youtube video was the white one.

I always enjoy Jimmy's enthusiasm when playing games.

Irrelevant. The fact is the end product is not meeting the needs of PS3 owners or the potential the PS3 was marketed as way back in 2006. Even to this day. Not when it comes to 3rd party games. Call of Duty is the biggest franchise this generation, so who's fault is it that the PS3 version is not the premium edition on consoles, Microsofts?

What the PS3 needed was what the PS2 had, influence among 3rd party publishers. That way they could force those developers to work ha...

The PS3 really shines in its exclusives. The problem is most games on any system are from 3rd party sources and multiplat titles. I don't know of too many systems that come out later and cost more to build (and also more to the consumer) that ended up having inferior versions, or at least this many. No matter how small and insignificant those differences may be.

Blame Sony's insistence on creating proprietary hardware that makes it more difficult for developers to gra...

It's not just Sony devices. It's happened on the Wii, DS, Xbox 360, and keeps happening on the PC as well.

@SJPFTL

People continue to play Call of Duty for a long time after its release and then repeat that cycle once the next game comes out. I'd say that's a pretty good indication they have attracted a rather large and loyal fanbse. If you don't like the series that's fine but obviously millions of others do.

@DigitalAnalog

You have no idea how up to date those millions of gamers are. Enough of the generalizations. They want to ...

jadenkorri, I don't have Bops on the Xbox 360. Nor did I say Live fees are warranted. Thanks for asking.

Don't expect SSD in the new system. It's all about getting the most value at the lowest cost this coming generation and SSD drives still start at about $80. I do expect Microsoft to go back to providing a hard drive with every system, but it's highly unlikely to be a SSD. A faster disc drive will also help load times. They will probably do something like Nintendo is doing and that is offer different models at launch. Cloud services will also come into play.

Yup, and the better they do the more the haters come out to voice their opinions. Just goes to show how many still love the Call of Duty franchise and the formula they have perfected.

What everyone should notice is all 3 systems (PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii) have done very well this generation. There should be no animosity, no resentment and no arguing. If you prefer one over the other that's fine and quite normal, but this endless attacks really needs to stop. We are near the end of the cycle, so ask yourself, what has all that bickering accomplished? Nothing since all 3 systems sold well.

I think it is quite possible the PS3 will hit 100 million once S...

"On the subject of PS+ and the rather suspicious conversation printed in that article, I don't think it works quite that way. For every 1 person that will wait for a game to appear on PS+ there are 1000 who won't be able to wait. "

So what you're saying is that 99.9% of the people will already own, have owned, or have already played the games that will be offered for free down the road?

What this article is saying is that most of the gam...

You forgot to mention that Microsoft, not Activision, runs the servers for their games on Xbox Live. With few exceptions like Electronic Arts who refused to support Xbox live unless EA had full control of their own servers so as they can take their games down whenever they feel.

Call of Duty on the PS3 runs through Demonware. This could also be one of the reasons why Xbox Live comes with a fee.
