I look at him and then I look at someone like Tim Schaefer. Both are veterans and both share a passion for gaming. Difference is one isn't constantly in the media promising the world. The other difference is one tries many ideas and is much more connected with the gaming public. Tim also doesn't rely on his history and keep saying his next project will be better than the last one. He just keeps making the games he wants to make.

Why would Turn 10 make an RPG? Would you expect Polyphony Digital to make an RPG? What Microsoft needs is to invest into more studios and I think they have. I would like to see Rare do more.

Why is Xbox Live old news?
1. Friends cap is still set at 100
2. Very rarely if ever it supports mods
3. Most games are still capped at 16 players. Why have we never seen a Halo game for example with 64 people?
4. It still has ads even though it's supposed to be a premium service that comes with a fee.
5. Speaking of fees you still can't play online for free.
6. Patches and fixes are still being held up at Microsoft's end. ...
What we need is a console like experience without all the politics. Look at the updates on Steam and how quickly they get approved and how they don't cost an arm and a leg like on the Xbox 360. Or how Playstation Network has scheduled maintenance and large patches that take away precious time. I don't know how many times I turn on my PS3 if I haven't used it for awhile and having to wait for some system update or the game to be patched. Things are much quicker on the Xbox 360 but ...
What difference does it make? You can buy the original model and don't have to wait for this slim model. I doubt Microsoft will not offer any system without an optical drive. It sounds to me it's just a way to offer a cheaper alternative.
Again, this is all heresay. Well find out next year and then we can all make more informed decisions. I'm leaving my options entirely open. All I know is the Wii U is not a must have for me, At least not yet.
That's a killer for you? You do realize that both Sony and Nintendo do the same thing. They are always looking ahead and they know things run more efficiently in time. You think it was just coincidence Sony had a slim model on all 3 of their systems and the PSP?
People will look for any reason to look for not wanting something, even months before anything is official. Meanwhile they will jump on the bandwagon for other companies products before anything is announced as we...
You're right, not enough Xbox 360 owners in Japan to make any difference. It's clear they don't want the system over there even after Microsoft tried to offer games they wanted like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.
This won't go well here on n4g. It could be better and it might not be. At least I'm open for the idea unlike some.
If Sony had dominated like they had the two previous generations it would have forced the hand for 3rd party developers and they would have used the PS3 as the lead platform. That didn't happen which is why some games would actually play worse or got left behind (Bethesda for example and the issues they are having with DLC).
This is why Sony is now forced to adapt and create hardware developers want. Sony no longer controls the market and cannot dictate their systems bein...
There's a stark contrast between hate and bringing up valid criticisms or complaints. For one thing I like the idea that Nintendo really pushes bringing the family unit together or playing the old fashioned way with real friends next to you. Too many games have now gone away with split-screen for example in favor of online multiplayer. I wish most games would offer both.
However...
One of the biggest reasons on getting a Wii U is to play with the new game...
The buildings are static but the flowers and trees are not. It will also have real-time lighting. It's obviously at the early stages but so far it looks very impressive. The level of detail is quite amazing.
I'm not sure if it will ever come to the Xbox 360. It's a bit late for that. I think Sony and Konami had a partnership in keeping it exclusive. This game on the other hand will most likely be on both systems and they will want to show off the new engine which is designed to work on various platforms.
Great interview. You can tell he really likes what he does.
Not a huge fan of the franchise, same with Gears of War. I have God of War 3 and the remastered package of the first two on my PS3, as well as Chains for my PSP. All good games but I'm getting a bit tired of them. Too many other games I'm anticipating.
Just a quick correction to the article.
"The PS3 didn’t have a good 2012 when it comes to exclusive games. We only saw a bunch of casual ones like Wonderbook and games like Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale–which didn’t really set the charts on fire."
That's not really true. Starhawk and Twisted Metal came out earlier this year.
Now going into 2013 I have these on my radar:
GTA V
Bioshock Infinite
Since when does Nintendo ship their systems in Japan after North America? Or is this just a case of how influential and powerful the U.S. market is?
Aghashie, so bluray is the key component? Is that why so many PC games use the format?
You know what's tiring, seeing endless arguments over such non-essential things. If people really want games to not be dumbed down per-say, then they really need to start supporting the PC platform. The differences in the PS3 and Xbox 360 are minor in comparison to what we saw on the Wii and what we are seeing on the PC. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 lie somewhere in the middle between thos...
darkpower, you're over-reacting. MGS4 had long waits between chapters, so why would it being on multiple discs for the Xbox 360 matter? Also to say the Xbox 360 doesn't have nearly as much power is hyperbole. You make it sound like the Wii in comparison, far from it. All your comment does is provide proof that there are still people out there who keep the flames ignited between the two systems. Was Burnout Paradise that much better on the PS3 even though it was the lead platform for C...
Well, let's see shall we? A $600 price tag for starters. Which relates to my comment on waiting since the prices will go down. The PS3 also had YLOD issues, not nearly as widespread as RROD on the Xbox 360. So again waiting is key as they get the bugs and kinks worked out. Another issue was 3rd party games that often didn't come out as well as they should have. Seeing as how most games on any platform come from 3rd party publishers I would think this too would be a reason to wait.
Lv Up Gamer, since XBL is a premium service by demanding a fee customers should expect more. If I pay for satellite radio I want it to be ad free and offer better and more options. What exactly does Live offer the other free services do not? Yes Live is the most seamless but aside from cross game voice chat I don't see much. Instead we have more restrictions. No MMO games aside from an old Final Fantasy. Hardly if any mod support. You have people like Gabe Newell questioning that while do...
