Not sure why people are advocating a price drop so quickly when Nintendo is already losing money. Were these same people saying the same thing about the Vita after it too didn't meet sales expectations?
They don't own the ip but like the relationship they have with Microsoft. I think there's something more to it than that and Microsoft probably gives them incentives for keeping it to the Xbox 360. If it does come to next gen consoles it should be on other platforms besides the Xbox.
Microsoft obviously had some input since the PC often got neglected too and Epic are more of a PC supporter. This is another sign that Microsoft needs to start investing in their own ip...
I'd like to see a new ip as well.
Root,
Calm down. I'm not attacking you, I am showing your patterns of always coming to conclusions before we even know how things will be in the end. Whether it's about DMC, Tomb Raider, Dead Space 3, the next Xbox and so on. It's how you seem to keep jumping the gun.
DMC was a reboot and it got great reviews and is a fun game but it was a departure. That's why it was a reboot and not DMC 5. Same thing with Tomb Raider, it's a reboot and ...
He does it ALL the time. Jumps to conclusions and wants to start heated debates with his assumptions and his discontent with the gaming industry. He feels everything should stay to their roots which is probably why he chose that username.
The last Assassins Creed got major positive feedback from the ship scenes so it's no wonder they want to exploit that.
It's funny how all these hardcore gamers don't like change and want games to fail regardless ...
My top 10 in no order
1. Uncharted
2. Bioshock
3. Assassins Creed
4. Borderlands
5. Mass Effect
6. Forza
7. Super Mario Galaxy
8. Demon Souls (and Dark Souls)
9. Batman
10. NHL
Sony showed what they needed to show while giving hints to the possibilities with the new controller and what Gaikai will do.
I think the graphics are what i expected, Killzone looked very good. I too thought the game was more of the same old stuff and wanted to see some innovation. But it's always a fine line of staying true to its roots and pushing forward into new gameplay elements. Either way you're right, it's far too early to draw any conclusions about how t...
Gaming is very unique when compared to the music and movie industry. For music people were getting upset at not having any control of what they could purchase. So you had to spend $10 or more for a full CD when some people just liked a few songs or perhaps just one song. It was the industry's lack of innovation that hurt them to adapt to the consumer. You go to the store and it's now hard to find some music on CD. Most of it is available now in places like iTunes and the quality of th...
"If there was as much difference as we are lead to believe then this would be like PS3 fans going into Xbox threads and arguing that PS3 was more powerful. It wouldn't happen because it goes without question ... So why is it happening with PC gamers?"
Probably because of the childish attitudes between the pro-Xbox and pro--Playstation crowds and Sony fans making it out to be drastic differences between the power of the Xbox 360 and the PS3. When in reality it wa...

Why? Now you won't have to pre-order or worry about the game being in stock. People that want to play it right away will still buy the game.
Of course there are many downsides with just being digital. Being able to trade, lend, sell and all of that freedom that comes with physical discs. Also game collectors. But I don't think people will wait longer because it's digital. The other fear is of course price fixing. Without the us...
It might be very close to the PS4 launch and some might put all their money on that instead.
1. Will the PS4 play PS3 games? That is an interesting question because the PS3 did until a few years after it came out. So that progression from last gen to the new one wasn't that abrupt.
2. This game might be better off in September, giving it a bit more breathing room. Problem there is GTA V is coming out then.
3. They better not delay it to ...
Agreed. They need to come out swinging. What has happened to Rare is very unfortunate. Once a great developer for Nintendo but Microsoft wasted their talents by not marketing the Xbox brand properly. It was as if they just bought Rare to hurt Nintendo while leaving them out to pasture. They aren't even the same company any longer, just a shell of their original existence.
Microsoft needs to come out and be crystal clear of the direction they plan on taking the next Xbox. ...
When Xbox Live came out with games like Mechassualt console gamers had a huge wake-up call. Talking to people, sending out invites, all in a very easy fashion. It really changed the way we viewed online gaming. However as years went by others took notice, mainly Sony. So here we are today with Microsoft being the exception of still being the only ones who charge just to play online.
If Sony continues the free to play model this will put even greater pressure on Microsoft to ...
That is correct but expect more and more titles to be available only through digital. Sony already announced all games will be available online. We already seen last generation the adoption of smaller scaled games only available through the store, I expect that to grow.
With online codes already becoming common practice it is just another step educating the gamer of staying online and connected.
David Cage gets lots of press. I don't like his arrogance either. I respect him trying to do different things but he always sounds like his games are better without any reference to why people enjoy games he doesn't want to make. It's called having fun, which is something he doesn't really get because he sees himself more an an artist and a visionary. I also don't like the way Hideo Kojima comes across. He too is very arrogant and speaks in third person like he's some ...
I agree, so far Sony has done everything that I wanted. So unless the system is priced over $500 then pretty much have me once again as a customer. I also gave the Wii U more than fair chance but so far what I thought came true. Which is a lack of games I want to play so far while 3rd party publishers once again take a wait and see approach. The online service doesn't really sound like a next gen outing but that could change over time. Nintendo's mistake wad thinking customers would ...
The better question is why are they arguing in the first place? This has been going on since 2005 when the Xbox 360 came out and many said it would be another failure like the original Xbox and that once again Sony would dominate. That didn't happen. The Wii came out in full force and changed gaming on its head while the Xbox 360 and PS3 went after the same market struggling to one up another.
It was a complete waste of time for 7 or more years with all the bickering goin...
Ron_Danger, it might just be something that compliments the game. You could use it as a map for an RPG game perhaps.
JackBNimble,
That is somewhat true. You see Sony finally not having a Playstation console within their Ivory Tower as they call it. Sony sees the advantage now of not having such proprietary hardware. Where developers can port games easily. The Xbox was already like a PC. I still think the assets should be built on the most powerful device and then tailored to bring out the strengths of each ported system.
The problem we saw on the PS3 is developers didn'...
It will be partnered better with the PS4 which should drive more sales. There also needs to be continued software that is unique to Vita.
As priced for memory cards and the unit itself lowers I expect more people willing to give it a chance. Sony has done a great job supporting Vita with Playstation Plus as well and I expect Plus to get even better when the PS4 rolls out. Gaikai will definitely come into play as well.
I've said it before and I will say it...
