Of course Lara isn't going to die. It's a videogame. How many horror games can you name where the main character dies and you can't continue with them? Isaac Clarke doesn't die in Dead Space either. You know why? It's because it's a videogame and if you die you continue from your last save/checkpoint like most videogames. There are tense moments in Tomb Raider but I do agree, it's not a horror game.
1) That they can release games broken in hopes of fixing them with an update
2) That DLC and other online components were used to help sell games and to keep gamers with that product.
3) That going multiplatform was the way to go.
4) That they can keep recycling IP's and take little chances.
5) That some of the above comments show there is a very vocal minority who are very loyal and are the ones who mainly attributed to ...
You're on here all the time waiting for responses and trying to pad your current account with approved articles, yet you think poorly of those who wish to play co-op and multiplayer games? That's odd.
No, not every game needs to have online play added or co-op but some games actually are richer because of it. Games like Diablo for example can be a lot of fun playing with other people even though it is also very enjoyable playing by yourself. Same with Command & Co...

"PS4 will have true 4D and be 20x more pwoerful than super duper computers. It will play games in 4k at 240hz"
Don't forget that you can also play on 4 of those 4K sets at once for some real split screen action.
"You will work 4 jobs to get one. Its launch games won't be possible on any other platform including PC during their life times."
But they will also stream to the Vita since the Vita is...
With all of these comments it's very clear the console wars will continue on. What fun lies ahead.
The next Xbox could win but that is only if Microsoft can tap outside of the U.S. market. So far the PS4 looks very good but we don't know the pricing yet and very little on the next Xbox.
Hicken, you can but a slim Xbox 360 now without he hardware issues. Yes the original design had major flaws but things have improved dramatically since then'
Whatever the timeline is you seem to have issues. First you say the hardware sucked in the beginning and now you keep saying how Microsoft lost its way with the core gamer. You were neither. You didn't support them then and you don't support them now. So why should anyone listen to your views on the upcoming ...
You mean like how Bioshock started on the PC and Xbox 360 but the PS3 got exclusive content even though the Xbox 360 was the preferred (console) version ?
http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
It's close but yes, they do pick the PS3 version but the PC is quite a bit better if your PC can handle it of course. I am enjoying the game quite a bit so far.
"On the PC this connection is enhanced by the use of more advanced technology - Lara is rendered in a more natural, human-like manner and while TressFX has some fundamental flaws, when it works properly, that effect is heightened still further. Meanwhile the improvements made to the visuals in other areas hel...
GamersRulz,
Your guess is as good as mine. I'm not sure what their target audience is but The Big Picture mode is one step in trying to get the word out that PC gaming can do what console gaming does. I think there are still a lot of misconceptions out there when it comes to PC gaming. The Big Picture mode is one way of doing that because it shows that yes, PC gaming doesn't have to be an isolated experience where you play in a small room or office. You can actually h...
Why would anyone be scared of the PS4? Don't we want the industry to flourish whether you play games on consoles, PC or handhelds?
People know the cycle, they know in the beginning consoles comes out swinging and competing with PC games for graphical supremacy and then the PC gets further and further ahead. That's just the way things go.I think what people get sick of (at least I do) is all the arguing going on from console fanboys. We seen most of this this generatio...
Hicken,
"When did Sony have bad sales? I recall when they didn't have the BEST sales, but not bad ones. They have, however, had issues with profitability, though a lot of that has had to do with divisions outside of gaming, as well."
The PS3 lost Sony a lot of money. Even when it was priced at $599 they were losing money. It took a few years to start making profits off of the hardware and they used the PS2 to offset those losses. Their gaming division is...
Hicken,
"As an example, the 3DS wasn't viewed as being worth the original asking price- the very same $250 the Vita is set at- so sales were not what Nintendo expected. In many people's eyes, there simply was not enough technological improvement over the DS for the 3DS to be WORTH that much money. The Vita, while more costly, is viewed as being worth its asking price, even if the price is somewhat prohibitive for a handheld."
How can the Vita be view...
GamersRulz,
It looks to me like Valve will be offering different systems depending on how much you want to spend. A PC does many other applications than just gaming, so if Valve can somehow make a box that is just for games and optimized just for gaming that would reduce costs and help consumers who are fearful of getting into PC gaming. To me it sounds like a hybrid of consoles and PC gaming where they want to take some of complications away of building your own PC while sti...
Of course and their response time will be criticized accordingly. Apparently they are giving away a free game but that's not much of a consolation when the game you bought isn't working.
This is just another huge wake-up call on how once we rely on our games being connected online you are open to more issues like these. People will also feel less empathetic when the game is a single player game. Diable III did this as well and had huge issues in the beginning too. I t...
The question is why are they changing their roots in the first place? Is it in response to lack of sales or do they thing gamers have changed over the years and that the hardcore crowd is shrinking so they want to appeal to a wider audience?
Hicken, of course they can take further advantage of Vita with the PS4 because now they can do a better job with asymmetrical gameplay like the Wii U. The PS3 was created long before the Vita so some of their design wasn't going to take full advantage of Vita until the PS4 comes out.
The point is this was all not planned like stuna1 said because while making Vita it was in the middle of the PS3 and before the creation of the PS4. Sony didn't plan on a lukewarm respons...
rezzah,
"Where in Root's comment does he/she mention Spyro? I'd like to know where you got your information (last line) about his opinion on Spyro."
He has in the past. It is also relevant to the current discussion because it used to be done by Insomniac. What he is trying to do is discredit Insomniac as much as he can now that they no longer work directly for Sony while attacking them for working for EA now.
"As much as you may...
AusRogo,
They might have had some say but we don't know. It's pure speculation. The reason why I brought up Sony is because Root thinks Sony is some savior all the time when they too run their department as a business. Why do you think they put so many resources into the Killzone franchise? It's because they seen the Halo brand explode and wanted something to tap into the growth of the shooter market.

That's true. GT5 is another. It had a rocky start and over time and some updates later it became a much better game.
I think any game that can be fixed with a patch or games that have had serious upgrades should get re-reviewed.
How can you properly review SimCity if it isn't working like it's supposed to? What they should do is give it a low score until it's fixed and then have an updated review or postpone the review.
