1. Vote with your dollars. This is true. Nobody is forcing you to buy any game or any DLC. Nobody is forcing you to support EA either. I don't buy any more Gears of War games but it's not because I have issues with Epic or Cliff, I just don't find the games all that interesting. At last years E3 you can see Microsoft toned down all the Kinect stuff. So perhaps the next Xbox will not be focused as much on casual gaming? And people are also excited for the next Xbox regardless of your insistence that all it will be is Kinect games. It's sad that we already see people taking sides before we know all the details.
I too think it will be very close again unless Microsoft does something out of the ordinary like an always online system. Nintendo really seems to be having issues getting traction. I think consumers are either apprehensive waiting to see how the PS4 and Xbox turn out or they haven't been able to get those casual gamers back. Either way Nintendo will be releasing new hardware before the other two the generation after this one.
This is not good in a country that has always been very supportive of everything to do with Nintendo. I expect a major price drop just prior to E3 to shake things up a bit for both Sony and Microsoft and their new hardware.
You also have to consider the big publishers like EA and Ubisoft are also behind this.
What you could do is watch other people play on your phone. You could potentially also send out challenges and monitor your account on your phone. Actually playing Killzone 4 on your phone would be a waste of time.
That is true but I was speaking hypothetically about how physical discs will be less and less of a focus moving forward. So whether you stream or download your games they will be through your online connection, not buying them at the retail outlets like Gamestop.
Finally Sony gets it that developers don't want proprietary hardware that only benefits Sony.
The hardware itself will become less and less focus as content is bought more and more online and services like Gaikai can be applied to various platforms.
We can already see by those screenshots that your PSN ID and real name can be both shown. This has to do with the new share feature and Facebook being integrated. That will make it much easier to upload images and videos to friends.
If people are really worried about having their real name attached it's easy enough to create a false Facebook account.

It took Polyphony a long long time to get GT5 on the PS3. This will make GT6 much easier and quicker for them.
