It's actually nice to see a non-domestic person create a device that is much more open and easier to work on. For far too long Sony has made systems way too proprietary with an Eastern philosophy rich in culture and too stubborn to change its ways by letting engineers rule the roost which elevated manufacturing costs way too high.
This is why there is so much praise from developers who are working on it. It is way easier while still being very powerful.

I would hope the new Xbox does not require this new Kinect. All that would do is inflate the cost. I understand that if it is in every system it will be much more likely to be supported by game developers but I'm still not convinced it has that much use in gaming.

Root, then buy a PS4. I want to see these systems offer different experiences and you're acting like the next Xbox won't have any games.
I agree that they should not be trying to sell things like Kinect enabled Netflix viewing and using Skype as selling features. What they should be doing is trying to sell an entertainment box where its core is still gaming. But they don't need to take the same direction as Sony in the process.

Why can't Microsoft go in one direction, Sony go in another and Nintendo go in a another? Why do we keep hearing from people that they want another PS4 out of the next Xbox? It was pretty clear the Xbox 360 and PS3 were cannibalizing each other and the gaming communities clashed the most.
I think the PS4 so far sounds amazing but that doesn't mean Microsoft needs to do what they are doing.

It's also coming to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The easiest is probably the Royalty class. I like the Temple Knight more though. Don't get discouraged early. It might take some grinding but once you start to remember the enemies and where to be it's not so bad.
