No you don't need a camera to do voice commands, but Kinect2 is more than just a camera. It's a dedicated audio processor. It's a high end noise cancellation tech. It's built in voice recognition software, with localized dialect and accent support.
If a developer is to implement voice control in a ps4 game, they'll have to design software by themselves that does all the things I've just mentioned. Then they'll have to do even more leg work to make ...
It's so silly that folks are still making these qte fest claims..
It looks like they are trying to get out of the business of being called liars, now you suggest they do it?
Why not just wait until Activision is ready to reveal the specs of their game...just like Sony did...
This is true. Xbox fitness will be free until December 2014, then you'll need a subscription.
It's unclear what the price will be, but several of the included workout programs are very expensive. It could end up being a steal, even ontop of xbox live.
$500 for a game console and a voice controlled universal remote that does a personal profile for everyone in my house... thats plenty useful.
Sure I can do most of those things on my laptop, or cellphone, or tablet, but on xbox one not I can do it hands free, on my big screen tv, and all at the same time.
Not really worrisome,I think that's always been the idea. In fact the term 'always on' has been a huge part of their marketing campaign... it's also why they've put some much effort into its variable power states.
sure. the way I see it, being able to interface with the tv allows the xbox one to act as universal remote for every device in your living room, and it's personalized for everyone in the house. IMO, the extra $100 is a steal for a good universal remote.
In addition to that, the snap feature coupled with the tv feature can allow for an augmented tv experience. Maybe that means skyping your friend after a crazy sports play. Maybe that means actually accruing points as you p...
Obviously, voice commands are up to developers..the same is true on xbox... I wouldn't expect them to ever be common on ps4, or integral to a ps4 game, because there is no sign the attach rate will be high enough to justify the development time.
Anyway, There's no reason to think that a large number of ps4 users would be interested in such features, when compared to xbox one users, who are knowingly paying $100 more for Kinect.
@BoriboyShoGUN game steaming (onlive, gaiki) already works. The size of the game has nothing to do with it. All of the content is stored on the servers, all of the processing is handled in the cloud. Your controller input is sent to the servers, and (essentially) the video of your actions is streamed back to you.
I don't see why not. I also don't see why you would need to move it back to the xb1. I play DR2 from a thumb drive in my 360.
I really don't foresee many people needing to upgrade their storage prior to 2014.
The 49gb is still an anomaly for COD, with those bland textures. I still don't understand why it would be so large...
When coming from a site called PS4home, I'm not surprised that an objective term like "less interested" gets SPUN into a biased term like "uninterested".
Huh? it's a team-based class-based game. People issue commands anyway (give me some ammo, cover me, i need a medic, etc). Now players that don't want to deal with the by-products of voice chat (profanity, racism, etc) can still communicate effectively with their team.
If your a mute or have a loose neck, you'll play the same way people have been playing up to this point, with those features disabled.
If the head tracking and leaning works as well as it does for Arma on PC, it should be just fine. It's greats for quickly scanning you surroundings, without having to move the crosshairs long distances.
Also don't underestimate the kinect in terms of voice commands. It's not the camera or the mic's, but the separate audio processor, the noise canceling, and the built in voice libraries. It will do the heavy lifting for the developers, so they don't have to...
No it's not enough, but it is enough for launch. Both consoles will have new SKU's down the road, just in time for folks to need more storage. It's a good thing that both will allow expandable storage in some way.
Why does this article exist?
He says playstation is the master race (whatever that means) then sites free online multiplayer and blu-ray...
I can think if PLENTY more compelling arguments for Sony superiority, and I play Xbox more...
Lol if you're going to flaimbait, do it right.
Looks great!!!
However 2k still hasn't figured out how to get the jerseys to lay on the shoulders of the players... Minor I know, but still...
Well, I'd love to have a crackdown game, and a proper open world online game would be on dedicated servers, but I don't have much confidence in this team.
If it is another crackdown, I hope they've learned their lesson.
What matters is the combined result of graphical fidelity, resolution, and frame rate... you can't just count how many games a system has at 1080p and use it as some penis size metric.
The wii u has plenty of 1080p titles compared to ps4 and xb1, but it isn't the more powerful system. They games simply aren't nearly as gpu intensive.
As the console generation soldiers on, I'm pretty confident 1080p at at least 30fps will be considered baseline...
