I think there is a strong chance it hits PS4, but I wouldn't say it's inevitable. The heads at Respawn seems very adamant about maintaining its independence after seeing activision rape their COD IP. I think they have more say in the matter than a typical studio.
Man, the Xbox controller takes the basic layout of the original playstation controller, and replaces the dpad with a thumb stick. If you are are playstation fan, there is no argument that the xbox's left thumb stick is in the prime location for the primary user input.
The Xbox controller falters heavily when the joystick is not the primary user input.
Try this:
When you hold a ps3 controller and relax, your thumbs will cover the dpad and the fa...
I was being sarcastic.
I wish MS would stop focusing on useless things like improving the online experience, and start focusing on things that really matter, like being able to decorate the homescreen! When are they going to learn to focus on the gamer? I mean, don't they realize how much time we'll be spending staring at the start up menus?
Or just don't pump your chests at all... In the last two generations, no one has "lost" as they've all made a lot of money and served a lot of customers. consoles sold isn't a great 'winners' metric as there is a bigger picture (software attach rate, online services, etc) The wii u might be the first 'loser' since the dreamcast, but its not out of the fight yet.
I'm willing to bet there will be some sort of kinect+cloud component to the game. Here's hoping that we can speak with our new AI companion (RIP cortana) and receive conservational responses back via the cloud (think SIri on steroids).
I also hope that 343 goes back to the halo1,2,3 formula for multiplayer. The random weapon drops and load outs completely destroyed the need to learn maps and control critical locations with power weapons.
Also 60fps p...
The pc version is using the xb1 cloud. And the Xbox360 version is an entirely different game, built by an entirely different team.
As far as a ps4 version goes, there's no reason (other than added costs) respawn couldn't set up their own dedicated servers or revert to a p2p model. The latter would likely either effect framerates or take away from the npc count though.
Of course there is always a chance that Sony would foot the server bill if it meant ...
Yeah, and that's exactly what all the hype is about....
Lol is that all you did while playing the game? I've been stealing jets from military bases, coordinating attacks on jurors, party crashing drug deals, having boat chases against helicopters, having helicopter rooftop raids... I literally do something different every time I play the game. There is more to the game than free mode.
How is replaying the same missions over and over again not a ridiculous grind? Even with the new (and admittedly overbearing update) there are plenty of ways to earn money... And earn it quickly. But the replay system was clearly broken as people were simply spamming 'base invaders'. surely, rockstar envisioned there would be more to their massive online game than that.
If the micro transactions weren't in the game, you'd still have to progress through the ranks. I'm not sure why the mere presence of micro transactions gives people a sense that they are grinding any harder than they would otherwise.
Earning money is riculously easy to do... without cheating the system. joining a crew and playing with higher ranking members will see you tripling your RP, and increasing your cash take several times per mission. You can also create ...
The graphics are really nice. I want to see a demo that shows the AI. I hate that they always play on easy.
Lol, really? Did anyone actually think that every game (even multiplatform) would have adaptive AI? Like the system was going to override the developers code and do it's own thing? Give me a break.
Also, I'd be surprised if DVR wasn't supported for every game at the system level. My guess is that the 'supported games' clause is needed because developers might want to opt out.
Still, I'm having a hard time understanding how reading MS m...
The launch was crowded with their own games. What was the chances someone was going to pick up watch dogs and ac4 with their new console? Now those users who would have had just one of them are more likely to own both of them at some point.
No, they certainly deserve the criticism, but it's not the role of the journalist to pass the judgement. They present the information as is, and let the readers come to the conclusion. They don't pick sides.
Yes the evidence looks bad for the dev, but it's not the role of the journalist to assume guilt.
Perhaps they did want the video
Flagged because of the critique (it really appears that this is the case), but it's poor journalism to use a headline that presents an allegation as fact... I see that way too often around here.
The headline should read 'video removed; allegedly because 'dev dislikes critique''
I think indie games get a fair shake. But when it comes to value, they tend to offer less than the AAA titles. If I'm a reviewer, and my grading scale tasks me with applying relativity between 1) a good $60 game that offers 10hrs of single game and countless hours of online play and 2) a a good $15 indie with a just 3 hour story, the nod is going to go to the full title.
The number of countries doesn't matter, what matters is how many units are shipped...For example, the ps4 is launching in Brazil... but they are only shipping three consoles... that's not really going to effect the wars in any way.
At launch, both countries are going to sell every unit shipped, so it's really a race to see who can get devices off off the assembly line quickest.
Contrast looks very intriguing. I'm not really impressed with the rest of the line up, however. Until, infamous and drive club come out, Killzone appears to be the only exclusive 'next gen' title on ps4.
I'm very disappointed in knack. The graphics are fantastic, but the gameplay looks stale. The brutally linear level design should have gone the way of the dodo with the ps1. It reminds me of the werewolf levels in sonic unleashed... ugh.
How does it sound like a favor? It sounds like they had a bad policy, changed it, and now they are responsible for making sure everyone is aware of the change.
You're right, there shouldn't be an issue to address, but their IS one... So they HAVE to address it.
