I'm loving the speed and functionality of the UI. It will be wonderful to be able to do other things while games are loading, or while waiting until enough of the game is installed before beginning to play.
This is the second video that shows the snap features working without bugs, so it seems the rumors were bogus.
Good deal, thanks for the info!
There IS a problem with that design, as a noob, you don't get much opportunity to learn how to use them. Hopefully, they've fixed this in bf4
Yeah, it looks like they're built this team with the right people and the game is shaping up nicely. I was skeptical at first, but this business model, over the course of the generation, has the potential to provide value in a way sfIV (and it's expansions) could only dream of.
Was firmly in the Xbox one camp until like... today. But I've never been so torn between options before. I really am interested in a lot of what MS Is bringing to the table (kinect2, TV, compute) and I feel like the XBOX One is the device my family would get the most use out of. It would probably never be turned off , really. Not to mention Xbox live is where the majority of my friends are, and being able to play with them is half of the enjoyment.
That said, I do play a ...
This was cool on the original xbox, but it hasn't been a necessity since. We've got audio steaming and USB transfer... those will suffice.
No my central contention is that you are calling Microsoft liars, based on a headline that contains a quote from Microsoft... that Microsoft never actually said!
You've spent this entire discussion disputing claims that Microsoft hasn't made.
Furthermore, you've presented POTENTIAL abuses of privacy, by MS, as if they absolutely, WILL HAPPEN, despite the FACT Microsoft addresses those very concerns to the effect that they are subject to civil liab...
No, you still don't get what I'm saying. The majority of your first post was about how MS is lying about the very nature of the kinect camera. Your support for that argument was based around the misrepresentation of MS' comments from the headlines.
Your second post didn't address the factual errors of your first, but it did present valid concerns about how the data MS collects will be used. You highlight various ways, the US government could legally access thi...
I just watched the live stream. The texture issues were pretty jarring at times. I'd be surprised if these sort of issues continue beyond the 1st wave of games...
Sure did look like a hell of a fun time though....
After reading Microsofts statement you have shifted your argument away from "MS is blatantly lying because a Skype call is effectively a facial transmission" to "MS can supply our information to the government and still be within the confines of US law"
The 3 points in your first message were clearly based solely on the headlines, and as such, ignored Microsofts claims that, when as it relates to gameplay, the kinect is not storing and transfering your ima...
It would appear that you read the headline, but not the article, and certainly not MS' statement..
Too bad...
Forza is developed by an inhouse studio. They get the latest tools sooner and have a more direct relationship with the engineers. Couple that with the fact that COD's graphics engine is crap, and the xb1 lacks the ps4's muscle and you have a tricky launch situation...
I expect the next round of games to have fewer issues.
Perhaps, but I seldom check my email, and I always use my console... so I prefer to get it on my console... to each his own I guess...
I don't think the media is downplaying it, I just don't think it's as significant as some other issues. A game at 720p isn't necessarily going to be less fun than one at 1080p. Graphics matter, but frame rate, geometry, effects, and artwork matter more than the difference between 720p and 1080p
If a year down the road, xb1 games still aren't getting to 1080p, I'd say this will be a bigger issue.
But right now, If someone has both cons...
I think people have been making a bigger deal about ads than they really are... if I'm seeing sprite commercials during loading screens, that would get old, but I have yet to experience an intrusive ad... and I play on xbox.... I mean who doesn't like being informed about deals on games?
Gotta love the FUD articles...
This guy basically complained that MS can 1) choose to end partnerships with 3rd party service providers
2) post gamerscores and leaderboard
3) comply with international copyright laws
4) that he doesn't have 'privacy' during 'voice chat, video and communications in live-hosted gameplay sessions. (If you're talking during a match, obviously anyone else in the match or any mods can hear)

I like the way naughty dog keeps pumping out new IPs. I haven't had the pleasure of playing one of their games yet, but it's clear those guys keep the creativity juices flowing
Fox News reporting here. Since the statement didn't mention piracy is illegal, the government actually encourages the illegal downloading of software? Get real.
If the government condoned piracy, there wouldn't be a law against it.
I've got nothing against indie games, but chances are, most of these wont be the types of games that push the hardware, or sell consoles. I'd love to be wrong though.
