I doubt they are doing this to push the next gen sales.
The current gen version of the game will reach waaay more people. The next gen version's sales will be limited to the number of people who actually get their hands on a next gen system, which will only be about 3 million.

It's proven to work just fine.
They could very easily just get another voice actor... I highly doubt they would allow a no name actor to dictate their story.
I'm not sure why people can't disquish consumer interest from the laws of supply and demand. The number of countries Sony supports at launch will mean nothing if the supply chain doesn't keep up with demand.
The leader at Christmas will be determined solely by who can ship the most units.
True... not sure how I forgot about that...
Despite the unimpressive visuals, the gaming is getting nothing but praise from everyone who touches it. Even pc gamers accustomed to great graphics.
Could it be that gameplay and performance is what really matters? Shocking, I know!
Yup. The voice recognition will allow the corresponding icon to appear over the person requesting it, so you can quickly see who needs it.
Also folks who don't want to use voice chat, can still coordinate with their team without fooling with weapon wheels.
Then there is the head tracking, which opens up the immersion factor.
For folks who are in it for the games (instead of the pissing competitions) Gameplay trumps resolution. This is a great gameplay addition.
I believe they would if they had any indication that a large number of ps4 users would utilize the feature, DICE would include it.
I suspect fans of this kinds of thing will feel it's under utilized on ps4 for the same reasons it was under utilized on the 360.
Nah. Not when scrolling through a command wheel in bf4. Pretty tough when bullets are flying at you...or when you select the wrong one and have to scroll all over again. There's no way that's faster than simply saying "medic"
I think the weight of Microsoft's advertising arm could give the sites the shot in the arm it needs. Capcom as a whole has been struggling..
Dead Rising is a good series, and coming out at launch will get it plenty of extra attention. Not to mention it will provide the only open world experience in either console (until gtav gets ported)
It's not a crytek game...
I really don't see it having much in common with COD, other than its made by the former IW heads...
I'm not saying Sony didn't make improvements to the model. But when Xbox live first came out. Sony didn't even have an Ethernet port on their device. In order to keep up with MS, they released an adapter.
Still, they didn't have a unified login in, or support voice chat accross all games. They had to further ape MS, when they came out with PSN, with a unified 'gamer tag' to work across all games.
Still, they couldn't quite match ...
The campaigns are opposite themes. Sony's play has been to bring players into the game world. MS' play has been to bring game characters into the real world.
Sony has borrowed plenty from MS. They basically copied Xbox live services exactly, Including most recently 8person party chat. What did MS copy?
@Hicken
I don't recall any argument, here, or anywhere else that xbox could graphically outperform ps4 on any consistent basis.
I do remember arguments comparing the graphics of two games, that are apples and oranges. One is third person with several dozens of characters on screen at once. The other is first person with amazingly detailed environments. There's simply no way to compare the demands of the two in an objective manor...
There's...
Then explain why battlefield 4, assassins creed, need for speed, Madden, and nba2k14 and ryse can achieve much higher fidelity visuals, better animations and better performance on xbox one, than COD.
I'll give you a hint... next gen engines. I'd buy your logic if ghosts wasn't the only launch game that looks exactly like the current gen version.
All you need is a Mic? What about voice recognition software, noise cancellation software, voice libraries, multi language , dialect, and accent support, a dedicated audio processor also helps. Kinect 2 isn't just a camera. There's a suite of developer tools that come with its use.
Otherwise, developers will have to take the time and resources to compensate for all of those things themselves...
Nah, it's not that resolution isn't important. It's just that resolution doesn't tell the whole story. If a game is at 1080p, but had the graphical fidelity of ms pacman, then has there really been an accomplishment?
Obviously we should be grading visuals based on a combination of resolution, generate, geometry, and effects. Resolution isn't a God-value.
I'd be extremely surprise if this rumor embed up being true. Being a software company, and providing an industry leading cloud service, it would take a massive over sight to screw up the network code do royally...
I'd be less surprised to find out that this article is just another attempt at source-less mudslinging as we approach launch.
