In the long run, mandatory kinect will pay off when it comes to core games... Of course we haven't seen developers take advantage of it, because with a 30% attach rate, it would not have made economic sense to make it an integral part of an AAA game.
It certainly isn't gorgeous, but if its designed to fit in with your entertainment system, instead of standout, I get it, and I appreciate. The 360, the ps3 and wii all clash with my existing equipment, so I welcome this look.
I don't hate MS like so many on this site, but Xbox marketing should have anticipated this when they decided on the name. It's no different that people changing PS3 to POS3 or calling it gaystation. If you invite them, they will come.
I wouldn't expect the majority of the majority to understand... oblivious to the the fact that it's their buying power that dictates the dynamics. Simply put, it's white males who are spending the most money on games, so 99 times out of 100, that's what the hero is gonna look like.
When it comes to the enemy AI, i think, publishers shoot for the politically safe option. As likely as it it to see an Arabic enemy, it's as unlikely to see a black one. Residen...
The 360 initially outsold the ps3. Then the ps3 picked up pace later on. That's the point. The war isn't over at launch.
It did initially, and then the ps3 came down in price, got some killer games, and picked up the pace. That's the point in trying to make. The 'console wars' aren't over at launch. 7 years from now, people are going to forget that Xbox was ever 'doomed' .
The Xbox One is going to sell a ton of consoles, especially after they start subsidizing the cost with cable subscriptions.
The gloom doom and hatred is misplaced. They've spent 1 billion dollars on first party games being released in the first year. Stop pretending we aren't talking about a game console.
Sure Sony will sell more. But that doesn't mean the end of xbox. Just like the wii and 360 outselling ps3 didn't kill Sony...
This doesn't make any sense. Any games downloaded are protected by drm, it doesn't matter which system you own.
The question is whether or not they will apply these policies to physical discs
A lot of you are pretty silly. As far as digital downloads go, there has and will always be DRM. Sony has it, Nintendo has it, Microsoft has it. The bad part about Microsoft's policy was that it tried to apply drm to physical discs.
If the question is whether or not Microsoft will later try to again apply drm to physical discs, the answer is a definite NO. It wouldn't make economic sense.
If the question is whether Microsoft will bring back family sha...
Are people too dense to see that this is an ad designed to tout Forza's realistic graphics and physics... Or does the need to bash MS supersede the need for reason.
I'd rather wait than give this resellers a chance to make a profit off my used games.
If I'm selling a game used, i skip the middle man, that means all the profit goes to me or the game makers.
Man, i just want a new 3d Zelda game... it's been a loong time...too long.
Infamous is exciting, but it comes out next year. Why get excited for something that is six months away?
Hell if I wait until then, i might get a bundle or something..
The problem is, most of them are either available on other platforms or coming out next year...
Why not, just use an external hard drive...
So because I am new to the site i shouldn't be commenting? Or is it because I'm not a conspiracy theorist? I'm not sure what my join date has to do with anything really. I just like this site because it aggregates game news.I have no allegiance to any company.
I hope you don't think your comment has anything to do with mine.
You don't have to have 'perfect' net code to take advantage of the cloud...
The point I was making is there is latency with everything, even local gaming.
I'm talking about the day one launch line up. Killzone looks good, but Ryze looks better. Forza, Dead Rising 3 are no douche slouches either, especially considering the number of characters on screen in DR3.
Infamous is looking great too, but let's compare it to what Microsoft has coming out around that time.
If we're talking about gameplay reigning supreme, from what I see MS has the better exclusives on day one in that regard as well. Killzone i...
I'm don't think developers will have as much trouble tapping into the ps4's power. But it's very telling that the PS4's launch lineup is graphically inferior to the 360's
But that's not even my main point. Is the difference in graphical quality going to have a noticeable impact on the gaming experience? I don't think so... It's the other aspects of each console's abilities that will make the difference.
@gribblegrunger Man, you totally blew it when it comes to interpreting his comment. There are several interviews where they explain that in the future any console can be used as a full on development kit. The reference to project spark is simply about gamers who don't want to be developers being able to be content creators.
