That's actually what I thought the first time I saw it, too. This looks a lot more brutal, though.
This is one of the games I'm really excited about this year. I'm glad that they're going to be making the two versions match by switching lead. Wise choice, given that the PS3's harder to program for.
If their games stop looking like bad ports, maybe EA will come off my "no buy" list.
No matter what happens, Hollywood is going to ruin it.
The point of the article is that the Wii moves a much lower percentage of third-party games than the 360 and PS3. This doesn't really surprise anyone, though, I don't think...Most of the third-party Wii titles are shovelware.
Nevermind the clunky gameplay and horrible aliasing issues. That game got rated based on hype, not content.
"Grand Theft Auto IV currently is the highest scoring game with 98/100."
Difference being that MGS4 deserved its high scores. GTA IV didn't. :P
I honestly think that Sony should flesh out their first-party and second-party offerings more. If they have people working on a broad range of games in-house, they won't have to pay out the nose to secure exclusives in the future. This is very important when dealing with an entrenched competitor, like the Xbox 360...If Sony hadn't had strong first-party games, the PS3 would have crashed and burned hard.
They have a lot of great IPs, which is one of the reasons that the console is...
I'm inclined to agree. They're IPs new to this console generation, so they're not likely to move new systems. Everyone that has played their predecessors already owns a 360.
I'm inclined to agree. A variety of games will probably be the best approach. You can't just appeal to one segment.
Either way, though, I'm not worried. There are casual games available on both XBLA and the PSN, yet the 360 and PS3 both still have graphically intensive games coming out, so it's rather obvious that developers aren't eliminating their big budget projects. They're diversifying, and that's healthy.
I'm glad it's going to be simultaneous. I really want another TPS to play now that I've finished MGS4. :)
2015.
"GTAIV on the PS3 runs on 640p
GTAIV on the 360 runs on 720p"
And yet, both versions of the game are incredibly ugly. Fail. :P
If the game was pretty, this would matter. ;)
BF:BC looks like someone wiped their butt with it on both consoles. :P Not sure why any comparison is needed on games that aren't graphically impressive to begin with.
Don't forget that he also told us the resolution of Haze, and saved many a PS3 owner $60. :P
If they really do take it in a darker direction, I might check it out.
It would have been a rental at best to me, anyway. EA = fail.
This is why I rent third-party titles instead of buying them. Especially EA titles. :P
It'd start with the exciting news that they've managed to get the resolution *even lower* than in the original product. ;)
Man, I'm glad I didn't buy that game...
"Potential newcomers? Anyone who has played much of Guns of the Patriots knows that attracting new fans was not what Kojima had in mind when he devised the trippy, whirlwind conclusion to the series. Players who are not intimately familiar with the characters and plot twists spread over more than a decade of Metal Gear Solid lore will not get very much out of the storyline, and indeed many are likely to be turned off by Kojima’s characteristically self-indulgent narrative style." <...
