Metacritic can actually point out some biases. Don't just look at the critic totals...Look at the user totals, too. If there's a large gap between the critic score and the user score, it's a pretty safe bet that a game received better or harsher treatment than it deserved.

GTA IV and Haze are fine examples. Critics treated GTA IV like it was the second coming, with a metascore of 98. However, the user score was only 8.2...That's a pretty hefty gap. Haze had a similarly large gap,...

They can't provide free, dedicated servers forever without some sort of compensation. Looking at an ad once in a while is a small price to pay.

If it'll keep Home and my online play free, I'm all for it as long as it isn't obnoxious. $60 only goes so far, can't expect them to foot the bill for online play forever.

If Saints Row 2 doesn't have the horrible aliasing issues that GTA IV has, then it will have beaten it in my book. ;)

I've no objection to forking over $25 a year for an interactive magazine with early access to some demos. Sounds cool, honestly...The content alone would keep me paying, assuming it's good, and well-done.

Would I pay $2.99 for early access to Home all by its lonesome? Probably not. However, Qore looks to provide a lot more than that. :P

If my local cable provider goes with unreasonably low caps like that, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. The caps need to be much, much higher in order to be reasonable.

This sort of behavior wouldn't bother me if they'd cut the base cost of the programs to reflect the new limitations, but they don't. These changes are made purely to gouge the customer.

Net neutrality is dying before our eyes. Isn't a complete lack of government regulation GREAT? :P

If they're going to be identical, I guess we can kiss the Eye integration goodbye. If that's the case, I won't be buying this game.

I think that something like this would be very good for them because it would streamline production. They wouldn't have to build the 80GB model at all anymore, and could just focus on cranking out 40GB PS3s at progressively lower prices.

This is very cool news if it is true. If not...I can live without. *shrug* The PS3 has a lot of great titles coming out this year, so odds are that I'm not going to get bored any time soon. ;)

I would love to have access to the PS2 library, however. There's a lot of games in it that I've always wanted to play.

This makes me glad I bought a 3D-ready TV. ;)

I like that the in-Home menu is implemented as a PSP. That's pretty hot.

Is it wrong that the single-player video of Resistance 2 coming on the 13th has me almost as excited as the release of MGS4 on the 12th?

This is a darned good month for PS3 owners if rumors of in-game XMB and trophies are true...That's an awful lot of gewd to have heaped on us all at once. :)

I can't help wondering if this is just its release date for that region. *shrug* I'll wait for the Playstation Blog's announcement.

The problem is that everyone assumes the controller is the key to the Wii's success. It is at least partially true...It's a lot more intuitive than thumb sticks. However, almost everyone in the US has used a mouse at some point, so I don't see why this would be necessary, or even remotely desirable, for PC gaming.

Interesting read. It confirms what I thought all along...Namely, that only first-party games are ever really going to be exclusive to one console or another.

The majority of Blu-ray movies can also be had for $15 if you buy them used. That's what I do. :P

Anything EA wants is bad for the industry. This is no exception. :P No competition = stagnation. Trust me, it's not good for gamers if there's only one console.

Uh, Chrs, Microsoft is *also* developing a "Wiimote" ripoff of their own. :P

"you might as well say Ferrari should stop making cars because they are so outsold by Toyota. It's a different market!"

VERY well put.
