Microsoft's E3 '09 announcement..."Versus XIII is going cross-platform!"
Microsoft's E3 '10 announcement..."FF VII is going cross-platform!"
I swear, SE is only pretending these're exclusives to collect a check from Microsoft. I have no faith in their willingness to create an exclusive for PS3 anymore...And I'll bet you anything SO4 won't go cross-platform, even though I'm certain that the 360 exclusivity...
It isn't "David Hayter's petition." It's a fan petition. He had nothing to do with starting it.

An excerpt from Hayter's letter to 1up:
"Finally, Mr. Fitch wrote, "With Sony seemingly intent on making a Metal Gear Solid movie -- with Hayter petitioning to write the script..." This is also untrue. I was contacted by an industrious...
Oh, cool. Didn't realize that they had launched. I really love their podcast and their videos...Kinda nice to hear journalists talking about GAMES without poisoning the discussion with platform hate.
Now that I look at it, the site is quite impressive, too. :)
"This article is totally speculative."
Okay then, I won't waste my time reading it. :P
Sounds potentially interesting. I'll definitely be checking out the demo.
I wonder if it is also going to utilize some voice commands, like Endwar. Think I heard that somewhere.
Looks like this game could use some AA.
They chose her in order to pander to their target demographic - teenage boys.
2009 is shaping up to be another spectacular year for games. :)
SD gaming at its finest. :P
Depends on the size and quality of your TV, trust me. I was cool with upconverted DVD when I had a low-quality 52" HDTV. My new, high-quality 61" HDTV really shows off the difference between upconverted DVD and Blu-ray. Uncompressed audio is also pretty amazing if you have the sound system for it.
As people inevitably upgrade due to the lower cost of bigger HDTVs, more people will see the quality of Blu-ray. This will be especially true once the price comes down on Blu-...
"Now that HD DVD is basically gone, this Upscaling DVD player will help bridge the gap between your current DVD’s and the downloadable HD content."
I'd rather buy a DVD and use an upconverting player than rent an HD download, thanks. :P Cracks me up that people keep pretending digital downloads will supplant physical media when ISPs are already experimenting with bandwidth caps, and the vast majority of digital download services are only DRM'ed rentals.
Incorrect. If you want the best version of Orange Box, get the PC version. It is vastly superior to either console version. :P
Having a petition to get a broken game fixed makes you a fanboy? :P The guy's probably just pissed that he got ripped off...Like almost everyone else that bought the Orange Box on PS3.
On the bright side, we won't be seeing that sort of thing happen again. Apparently they're not even going to bother porting Left 4 Dead. Oh, wait, that's not a good thing...*sighs sadly*
...I'm now about a thousand times more excited about this game, and I was already pretty hyped.
It would cost a tremendous amount of money for Sony to buy exclusives like FF XIII. They can develop their own first-party titles at a much lower cost instead, and we're guaranteed superior quality in the process. For the sake of some perspective, Microsoft wrote a $50,000,000 check to secure exclusive GTA IV DLC. Killzone 2's development only weighs in at around $20,000,000, if I remember correctly.
There's also the added bonus that first-party titles are guaranteed to stay excl...
Depends on the quality of the port. I'll definitely be renting this before I buy it if it comes to the PS3.
He's pretty clearly stating that the PS3 version's textures won't be at the same resolution as the PC version's textures. This shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone because high-end PC graphics cards now generally run 1GB of RAM apiece.
This could really go either way. Given that they're losing a good chunk of money on every console sold, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony held off on a price drop until they get their production costs much lower. It doesn't make a lot of sense for them to move an extra million consoles this year if it will cost them $100,000,000 to do it. However, next year, they could easily cut that in half by reducing production costs.
O'course, there's always the software angle. If they move an...
Making shorter games to appeal to a more casual audience is a double-edged sword. If a game packs anything under twenty hours of gameplay and has no multiplayer, I won't even consider buying it at full price, and I don't know a lot of people that would.
I was just thinking the same thing. :)
