Given that Prototype is cross-platform, I'm sure that Infamous will look a lot better graphically.
There will always be hardcore games like there will always be big-budget movies. There's a reason for that...The payoff can be incredibly huge. Just because a few bad big-budget flicks sink and lose money doesn't mean that they're going to stop making them. :P
The first Resistance could be debated, maybe...But honestly, it's still a better-looking game than the PS3 version of CoD4. Full 720p and decent AA make the game look incredibly clean despite some of the fairly low detail textures. It's also noteworthy that it was a release title on a very new platform...PC programming experience wouldn't help them nearly as much as it would help 360 developers.
The next Resistance is an animal we haven't even seen in action yet, so don't judge i...
There was a serious omission from this list...
"All the beautiful 1080p Blu-ray movies that PS3 owners can watch using their console."
It's not a game, but man, do I ever love it. The Blu-ray victory in the format war is actually what decided me on which console I'd buy. :)
Those two movies are fine examples of the prices dropping as time goes on. They're both much less expensive on Amazon...Fantastic Four is now $19.95, while Halloween is now $15.99, with used copies also much less expensive.
Given another year, I wouldn't be surprised to see bargain bin Blu-ray movies going for $10.
Wow, a WWII FPS. How unique and original.
What's new and special about this game? The graphical beauty of it, that's what. CoD4 is a nice enough game, but it has aliasing problems. They're not severe, but they're definitely there. Oddly enough, those same aliasing problems are absent from Killzone 2, and even the original Resistance.
Stop previewing games based on how they look on an SDTV, and you'll realize why Killzone 2 is something special. The game is just plain beautiful. I've rewatched the Game Day videos over and...
This will speed Blu-ray adoption if true, so even if it hurts the PS3 a bit, it will still help Sony. That's hilarious.
Her chest is far too realistically sized to appeal to the teenage male audience. ;)
That's not entirely true. They've confirmed that they don't comment on rumor.
It'll get here when it gets here. I'm not gonna drop dead of disappointment if I check for a firmware update on the 10th and it's not there.
I wonder if you can take pictures of a lion's intestines as you get digested.
I hope they post the episode to their site in 720p. Only getting to watch R2 gameplay footage in SD on cable would make me one sad panda.
It's not really any surprise that households that have all three systems tend to favor the 360. Gamer score and achievements weigh heavily on people's minds, as does the fact that a lot of cross-platform games are designed for the 360, then ported to the PS3. The combination of these factors leads people to play cross-platform games on the 360 instead of the PS3, which results in a much larger usage percentage.
However, the majority of gamers don't own all three systems. There's...
Shop Amazon. Most of their Blu-ray movies range from $15-25. I'm not sure if there's any that cost $30 that aren't some sort of special edition. :P
Anything over $20 is still a bit much in my eyes, but that's the nature of early adoption. After another year or two, the cost of the disks will be low enough that all of the movies should be $15-20.
Looks like they just poled households that have all three systems...In other words, the smallest minority of gamers. :P
It's kinda sad, but the aspect of Home that I'm most looking forward to is the in-Home XMB. It is implemented as a PSP that your "character" carries, and breaks out when you want to access the XMB. When I saw that, I laughed out loud...Then immediately couldn't wait.
It looks amusing. We'll see. It'll be a definite rental if nothing else.
Anything that improves the performance of a game is *good*. I'd rather have them use the whole system and squeeze out every bit of power they can.
This incessant whining is really getting old. :P
Sad thing is, I'd probably pay $60 for a PS2 to PS3 port of Shadow of the Colossus with improved graphics.
