Sad thing is, as excited as I am about Dead Space, I'm going to rent it before I even consider buying it. I can sum up the reason for my hesitance in two words: Orange Box.
If it turns out to be a good game, and not a shoddy port, I'll buy it. If not, that'll pretty much be the end of my interest in EA's products. I won't shell out $60 for a sub-par port, thank you very much.
Fortunately, if Bad Company is anything to go by, their treatment of the PS3 as a platform i...
No. That game would still be bad.
You're not the only one. I really enjoyed Doom 3 on my ol' Xbox.
I've actually been thinking about doing something similar with my PC. :)
Positive feedback for hilarity.
Never gonna happen unless the government steps up to the plate and puts some money into improving infrastructure. Providers have proven time and again that they'll never do it themselves if they can avoid it.
If the rentals aren't in at least 720p, they're not worth money.
I hope that the framerate is a lot better when the game is released...Guess we'll see. It's gorgeous, but it seems to chug at all times.
Nice foliage, though. It's nice to see a game with decent grass. Afrika could learn something from Farcry 2.
The part that impresses me the most is the foliage. I know that's pathetic, but it's dense, and it doesn't look like crap. That's actually one of the things I really respected about Crysis...The foliage looked great.
It's also one of the things I was excited about Africa for...But apparently the foliage got axed for some reason. Now it's just textures on the ground, with very little rendered grass. It looks last-gen. I don't care how good the animals look if the environments are ...
Problem being that publishers are companies, and they're a lot more interested in money than they are in anything else.
I'm uncharacteristically excited about this game. The style of it is very cool.
I'm glad that those images were real. It looks very cool.
This game needs to stop getting prettier. :P
I disagreed with your opinion that I'd disagree with you.

It makes me see red every time another "journalist" talks about how the Wii is the future of gaming, and that big-budget titles will go away. Right. Just like big-budget Hollywood movies went away. Oh, wait, they didn't. :P
What we're seeing right now is price point constriction, nothing more.
If I didn't already own a PS3, I'd be waiting to buy one until I could get the 80GB bundle, too. Hopefully Sony steps up production.
What an exceptionally unexceptional week. Oh well. Maybe I'll try MGO.
@17.1: Positive feedback for hilarious game reference.
You should check out the new game play videos on Gametrailers. It actually looks really good now. Not sure if it's particularly tense, but it is graphically impressive.
