Except that 2009 for PS3 means that the 360 won't see it until 2010, which FURTHER means that US audiences might not see it on the PS3 until 2010 either. Well, I'm not learning Japanese for my health. Import, import.

Holy balls, the in-game stuff on FFXIII looked absolutely amazing.

Square, I'm seriously. Here's my $60, you can have it now. Just quit making Ifrit's Paradise for the EFFING DS and FINISH FFXIII!

Edit: Just finished watching the Versus XIII vid. Make that $120 Square can have. In fact, $240 because I'll probably import. Just. Finish. The. Games.

Edit 2: Thanks for the disagree, a-hole. Leave me alone and go play some crappy shooter.

What can I say, EG knows its audience well. Take a spin through their comments section. Wow.

@2.1: "Article writers, blog posters or forum posters often feel they need to be provacative in order to get a reaction and lots of comments. It works too. :(" Could you possibly be referring to the person who contributed this article? :P

How much you want to bet that VSXIII might actually release alongside FFXIII? Nomura ftw!

PS. Not to be a wicked choad, but "Final Fantasy VS VIII"? V and X aren't even next to each other on the keyboard.

This article brings up important ideas, but is misguided. There have always been people who abuse or neglect animals--often young men--and that is one of the warning signs psychologists look for in children who might be sociopathic. Animal abuse is also a common trait among serial killers.

I understand that video games can encourage violence--the US military has been using First-Person Shooters in training since Wolfenstein came out--but a bigger problem is parents who don't pu...

You know what, though? They say "break damage limit" and suddenly I'm a little more excited again. Means no more crappy 5-hour Yiazmat fights (unless they have a boss with 500 million HP o_0). And breaking the damage limit also reminds me that the dev team behind FFXIII also made my favortie, FFX.

Damn you, Square, and your delicious tidbits of information that could end up not being true anyway!

This isn't news. This is nothing.

@7: No joke. I started reading N4G to get away from flame wars and flame whores. How quickly that went down the toilet...

Quick, somebody post an irresponsible blog about how Bluray needs to be saved! lol

Preordered this. Can't wait. But that's beside the point.

Anyone know if LB Jeffries is this writer's real name or is it a reference to the old Alfred Hitchcock movie "Rear Window"?

I have to agree with you. Even on a small screen the character models looked like sheit. If it's early enough in development for even the main character to look last-gen, maybe hold off on showing it to the public.

And whoever was playing used bullet-time EVERY TIME they shot at someone. When I compare this footage to other 2009 releases, WET seems, well, pretty dry.

This would be an especially good idea for public schools. I tried year after year at the school where I taught to get them to use open source programs, specifically Linux and Open Office. An unbelievable amount of the school's computer budget went to obtaining licenses for Windows 98 (this was in the mid 2000's), and we didn't use even a tenth of what Windows could do for a network. Instead they used a combination of MS and Apple OS because they didn't want to have to train the teachers on...

Ghostbusters was my favorite movie for a solid seven years when I was a kid. I'll definitely be picking this one up, if only to support the developers and Atari for taking a risk on an older franchise.

@1.1 You should go watch the Angry Video Game Nerd's three Ghostbusters game reviews. He also mentions the Genesis title as the best one. Hilarious stuff, as long as you don't mind a LOT of swearing.

How do these "(Some successful game system) Needs Saving" keep getting approved? There's like five of these a day now. *Yawn*

No, definitely a video game. Here's the post:

God of War III (2010) (VG) (in production) .... Kratos

That (VG) after the title means "Video Game." At least be right before you bully people. Yeesh.

Edit: @1.11 sorry, I didn't see that you'd already mentioned this.

Same story for me on HL2 launch day. Installed all the discs, which took quite a while, and then I couldn't activate the game to play online or off. Kick in the teeth. In all fairness, Steam has improved since then. But it's still DRM.

I bought Half-Life 2 (PC) the day it came out a few years back, and I had to wait a day to play it because of the ultra uptight DRM that game shipped with. Either Gabe has changed his tune--which would be great news for PC gamers, since Steam offers so many titles--or he's pandering.

Played the first one a few times already. Instant buy.

@kharma45: Thanks for the link. How did I miss a new trailer?

@Wile: I think he was referring to the "kills, literally" part of the title because "kills" can be used to describe really high sales too. I think everyone here can agree that what happened is terrible and sad.

However, if you want to be really upset about someone being inappropriate, go read the first forum post on the actual article. Talk about disrespectful.

@The Killer: I respect that you're trying to bring some thoughtful political discuss...

Excellent point. Ever since I learned how much power the PS3 draws--even when turned off--I have kept my system unplugged whenever it's not in use. That alone saves me about enough money per year to buy a new game. Hopefully the inevitable PS3 slim will take care of some of that.
