Agreed. I'll eat my hat if this wasn't made by the same dev team--or even the same engine--as Odin Sphere. Wish I had a Wii for it.
"Why are you worried of getting flamed?"
Because of guys like KarateExplosion who don't read people's entire comments and call everyone noobs. ;)
@KarateExplosion
Yes, I also beat Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon (and Omega from VIII and Ozma from IX, and all Arena monsters from X and all marks from XII), but what I was saying is that the first time I faced Sephi all those years ago, I'd never had my ass handed to me in such a dramatic fashion.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I agree with you. The final form of Sephiroth--the first time I finished the game, mind you--just about broke my sanity. I had to back and level in the crater for a couple hours before I could get close. On subsequent plays through, I was ridiculously overpowered and beat him with a single Omnislash. Somehow, that just wasn't as much fun...
"I don't care if FFXIII comes out this year or next as long as we keeps on pumping unpopular spinoffs on the DS."

I also don't mind lower scores. People are entitled to their opinions...as long as the opinions make sense. The review itself isn't bad, but two parts in the conclusion stick out:
"drab visuals" and "jaw-dropping visuals."
I know it's not John Updike writing these articles, but at least be consistent with your own ideas.
Also, since when is 7.5 hours short for a FPS? Even heavy hitting titles rarely last over ten hours anymore. B...
At the risk of repeating myself, I'm right there with you on Wipeout. I bought that game several months ago and I come back to it again and again. Just fantastic.
Especially when the site's current survey is about fanboys and one of the choices is "Yes, I'm a generic, retarded N4G.com user!" Although I agree that N4G is frequented by some genuinely obnoxious personalities, I like how slapstic is being purposely antagonistic toward such a huge percentage of their site's potential visitors. Fail.
Great username + clever comment = cactuschef = win = +bub
No kidding, the Valkyria Chronicles DEMO was better than a couple games in that list IMO. The other one that sprang to mind was Wipeout HD. Dammit, I love that game.
From the list: "While not as good as the Wii version, Tiger Woods 2009 is a highly enjoyable game no matter what console you play it on."
Tiger effing Woods in the list of top ten games on the PS3. I...What...But...
*shakes head and walks away*
He says in the article, "Why doesn't Nintendo just give Mario a water powered jetpack?"
My memory is a little shaky with this, but didn't Nintendo already give Mario a water powered jetpack in Super Mario Sunshine for the GC? And didn't it work out pretty well?
My take after a single night of play is that Noby Noby is a much more open-ended version of Katamari. Instead of rolling up stuff, you eat stuff and use it to stretch yourself longer and longer. Also unlike Katamari, the whole community adds up its collective length, which will eventually unlock new worlds and maps.
Mostly, the game is a cute physics playground that you can easily upload to Youtube.
Waaay ahead of you, pal. While playing last night, brows furrowed, I somehow tore the hind end off of Boy, but could still control it. I thought to myself, Why not? and I ate my own arse. The game emitted a celebratory fanfare (TA-DAAA!), and suddenly I had a butt again. My only disappointment is that there is no Eat Your Own Arse trophy.
Q4B feels surprisingly different than ToD, mostly because you don't ever have Clank with you. If you go into the game with the idea that it will have terrific platforming and an R&C sensibility, you'll really enjoy it. If you go in with the idea that it's a proper R&C game, only shorter, you'll be disappointed. Also, Insomniac are definitely waiting for a true sequel to tie up the story from ToD. Enjoy.
Yeah, yeah, and I suppose Little Big Planet was on the wrong console too. I spent two hours blissing out to Flower last night (didn't finish the game or get even CLOSE to unlocking all the level trophies) and it's simply too good to let flamebait like this ruin the experience. Game on.
Philosophical Edit: "...the fanboy community that constantly keeps the PS3 in the news." Was this guy looking out a window or into a mirror when he wrote that line?
You've hit it on the head. I played through the first few levels last night, and before I quit for the evening, I played through the first level twice more. Amazing.
I'm as annoyed as the rest of you, but blaming the 360 dev time is more than a little tenuous. Like a week-dead fish, Square is rotting from the head down. They need to lose Wada in a hurry.
Well said. Very few people understand the amount of work and love that go into pieces like this. +Bub
Reason #1-∞: It's not a real guitar.
Why are people so stuck on this?
...but only for Japan, plus it's a limited edition. The Advent Children Bluray will have English audio, but no English subs. As far as I can tell, the FFXIII demo will be Japanese only. You can pre-order here. Notice that it's "First print only available as long as supplies last."
